Clearly the racist governor did not staff the plant adequately.

Time to take over the water system and airport, and let the emperor chase them in court.

Anonymous said...

sad that it takes the State declaring a emergency for incompetent people to get fired

I believe he has been re-assigned to deputy director. Per WJTV.

Anonymous said...

When will the mayor resign?

Anonymous said...

WLBT says he has been "reassigned". Report goes on to say "It was not known in what capacity King would remain on. He did not know who would be his replacement." I am sure they are right on target...not.

As soon as the coroner down in Picayune, the emperor of Japan, the Vice Admiral of the Pacific Fleet and the guy who bottles prune juice for Dole all declare emergencies, something will be done. Reckon?

Meanwhile, Chockwe knows not a damned thing can be done to challenge his leadership. He's more insulated that six of Entergy's high-lines combined.

Suddenly (after how many terms in office?) David Blount gives a damn that some people in Byram pay exorbitant water rates for Jackson water? He hasn't ever given a damn about this issue until all hell broke loose.

Byram needs a State Senator who doesn't live in Belhaven. Hopefully a quality candidate will step up to challenge empty suit Blount in 2023.

Anonymous said...

Chokwe frags the unqualified butt kissing lieutenants he shouldn't have elevated in the first place.

Anonymous said...

Marlin King had to go. How did he even get that job? Just last week, he had no clue how class A operators the city had.

The mayor needs to go next. The gig is up. He has made everything worse by lying. His lies have only gotten more and more egregious with each passing week. Everyone I know, black and white alike, is fed up with him. All public trust is him gone.

Anonymous said...

Garbage piling up in the streets next due to the incompetency. Sewage spilling into the creeks will continue as well for the same reason. 3rd world problems.

David Blount for Mayor 2025

Anonymous said...

Good. That public works director appeared to be aggressively stupid

Anonymous said...

How could it cost more than a BILLION DOLLARS to fix OB Curtis? That does not seem to include the pipes throughout the city, just the treatment plant.

Does this include million$ to the lying crooked mayor's "consultant," also known as a broker, and million$ that would quietly be paid to the lying crooked mayor? The same broker who would simply Google "water treatment plant contractor" and then cash his check?

Jackistan is Detroit and Flint on steroids.

Lots of "fire sales" on homes hitting the market right now, thanks to Lying Chowke.

Anonymous said...

This is “our” water system.

Anonymous said...

Bob Miller was qualified, but he lasted two years after coming here from Nola, before he "retired." Dr. Williams seemed to have knowledge, though how much specifically of water treatment I dunno, but I recall him attempting order "parts" for pumps, but Little Man reassigned him, and "elevated" Mr. King.

Is it just me, or is there a pattern here? LOL

Let's face it, the only solution is to remove the water treatment from the city and place it under the State, and use the city funding as best as can be spent. Who knows where it goes now, or even how many water bills remain unpaid.

Anonymous said...

Holy shit it's true
the freepers are blaming this on whitey :-D

Anonymous said...

Lumumba family and friends are 25% in Richard's Garbage contract, could you only imagine if he had got to privatized the City of Jackson Water, he would have resigned.
He is working on becoming rich off poor blacks in the south and moving back to Detroit.

Jacksonians said...

Antar will not get 25% in the next election. Maybe not 10%. Will be worse loss than Yarber took.

Anonymous said...

@10:51
How?

We are living in a time of extreme shortages for imports and we don’t make the things we need. A lot of the needed parts are European. And if you haven’t heard, they have their own crisis right now.

You can hardly get parts to fix a vehicle now.

Anonymous said...

Good for the people in Jackson.

I detest the mismanagement, corruption and incompetence of the city, but the schools must have water, the families and the businesses must have water and a takeover was going to happen sooner or, later.

Now, let's get the police and the judges dismissed, the shit out of the streets and some potholes fixed along with sending the boy mayor packing.

Anonymous said...

In plain speak this is what all of this really means.
Jackson will get their problems fixed and the rest of the state will foot the bill. Chokeweed will get the money he wants and will not have to do anything that even resembles work. He will be a sure fired bet to get voted in as mayor once again.
What does the city of Jackson have to worry ab out. The state will bail them out and they will not have to pay for it. Checks will be thrown all over town.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for reading JJ Donner!

Anonymous said...

Why don't they just pray over the water plant? That should've been the very 1st thing they did. It worked for Tony "we going to Piccadilly y'all" Yarber.

Anonymous said...

@10:51
Perfect time to buy up some “One Lake” front property for mega cheap. It will be a nice place to live once Jackson becomes a Capitol District that is controlled by a commission that is appointed by the legislature and governor.

No more mayor and no more city council. No more lazy and surly city employees!

The gravy train will be over. No more set aside contracts.

Kingfish said...

Miller wanted to have a press conference about the EPA emergency administrative order. The Mayor said hell no. Miller put in his notice shortly afterwards.

Anonymous said...

@10:57 I have boxes. I will help him pack. Maybe Richard's could help as well.

j'etait Charles Martel said...

Perhaps it is time for joke-way to be reassigned?

He's too frail to swing garbage cans. He's too dumb to have anything to do with an airport. He's too arrogant a narcissist to have anything to do with people in an official capacity.

Perhaps New Orleans would have a position he could fill?

Anonymous said...

Seems the tide has turned against little Chokwe. Now if only someone competent would step up to run against him.

County Cletus said...

Fox News never once mentioned Chokee even though he’s more or less responsible for the failure… yah know . Cause he’s in charge. Get it? Hell, even Tater took the spineless high road to keep it un woke. 💩

Anonymous said...

Kingfish, many thanks for your top-level systemic journalism to expose Lumumba's mis-management of the water system. His coverup of the EPA order is just the tip of the iceberg. Miller has integrity, Lumumba does not.

Anonymous said...

10:35, you know David Blount's dad the doctor owns stuff all over Byram? I assume he has roots there.

Anonymous said...

Leave it to ignorant ass, do nothing CAL and his feckless, incompetent leadership to make Tater look like a superhero.

Anonymous said...

With a weeks notice to the citizenry for evacuation purposes, get Bruce Willis and his roughneck crew to bore a 300 meter deep hole in the front yard of 219 S. President St, insert a .5 megaton device in said hole. Resulting crater can be the “New Jackson District” administered by the Governor and Legislature.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone consider that maybe this is all by design? It's not like we couldn't see it coming.

Anonymous said...

At Sam's in Pearl this morning. Bottled water was be bought by the cart full.

Jackson's only hope at this point is for the State to take over, something that the "leadership" in Jackson won't go for.

“‘King will now serve as the deputy director of public works.
Former Director of Planning and Development, Jordan Hillman, will step in as the city's new Public Works director.” WAPT.COM

Someone pls explain the Mayor’s strategy with this move.

"We are living in a time of extreme shortages for imports and we don’t make the things we need. A lot of the needed parts are European. And if you haven’t heard, they have their own crisis right now."

Don't know why European in a toilet you can't flush but to each their own I reckon, right.

Chokwe Says He Don't Need No Stinkin' Plan said...

"You can't just say 'We need money' ... [Federal] money can only be accessed with a plan".

Bennie Thompson
(referring to Chokwe Antar Lumumba)
August 17, 2022

The Emperor Polluter admitted yesterday that there is NO comprehensive water/sewage plan though he previously lied that indeed a plan existed.

(That is why the Emperor was hiding behind requiring a FOIA request for the plan-that-doesn't-exist when a reporter asked for the plan.)

Bennie Thompson already knew this and pulled as many punches as he could to obscure from the general public the Emperor's gross incompetency.

But when questioned point blank by the TV Newsers about money for Jackson, Bennie had nowhere to go but to reveal that he hasn't seen a plan (though he's asked for it many times in the past) and that there won't be any money from the Federales until there is a plan.

Resign Lumumba, RESIGN.

Anonymous said...

Jordan Hillman? The Landscape Architect? You've got to be kidding. Lumumba doubles down on stupid. Absolutely incredible.

Anonymous said...

11:59 AM, she's just about the only competent person left in his administration, which I'm sure she would be eager to tell you. And which isn't saying much.

Anonymous said...

CNBC just reported that "President Biden was briefed on the flooding that caused the problem at the Jackson Mississippi water plant."

Anonymous said...

Someone pls explain the Mayor’s strategy with this move.

He can’t fire Sista Rukia or the learned Doctor Omari. So he is arranging the deck chairs in the most democratic of fashion.

Anonymous said...

Harvard University says, "Nothing to see! Move along! Lumumba has everything under control!"

ROFLMAO, now Ladd has returned to blaming Ronald Reagan. You can't make this up.

Pappy Odaniel said...

Maybe telling everyone to work from home for two years and chasing people 2 years old and above around about masks didn’t do much to improve Jackson’s failing infrastructure. And decal Dr Dobbs had no interest in the health ramifications of the entire city swimming in sewage...that paled in comparison to the risks of no masks and not being vaccinated...because Covid filled sewage can be mitigated by masks and vaccines. And another thing that did not help is Rankin County abandoning Jackson and building their own WW treatment plant. Jackson should sue Rankin County for 30 years of wear and tear on their WWTP. And for those of you thinking Rankin County did the right thing by divorcing the red sewage from the blue...good luck, your day is coming...the escalations in bond payments are kicking in.

Anonymous said...

Just like someone posted:

1. The State of Mississippi and the Feds will pay for this.

2. The Mayor will be reelected.

3. Nothing will change, except no one will want to have a business or restaurant in Jackson.

Anonymous said...

So the mayor made the statement that the flooding caused the problem with the raw water intake. Then the Governor says the main raw water pumps have been broken for weeks and the backup pumps can't keep up.
It's safe to assume that the mayor knows nothing about water treatment (and hasn't bothered to learn.) My guess is that Mr. King may have been trying to cover his ass and lied to the mayor. That may also be why he hasn't attacked the Governor (yet.)

Anonymous said...

Will Jackson State be able to play Florida A&M Sunday at Memorial Stadium if there's no water or ice available? The team is already in crisis mode over no water on campus / citywide.

Anonymous said...

Remember when Wicker went to Davos this last meet? I said Mississippi was chosen for some Great Resetting. As of today, Tate has gone begging to Biden. Here comes your WEFing. No money will change hands without favors being expected.

Anonymous said...

I doubt that Hillman has any certification in water systems operation. Maybe I'm wrong. Do they know she's white?

Anonymous said...

The Lumumba administration has to be ordered to cooperate? Seriously?

Anonymous said...

The federal government needs to dispatch engineers from Vicksburg and the guard needs to be distributing water.

All hands on deck

Kingfish said...

She is good at what she does. One reason is she is experienced in P&D. However, she has no Public Works experience and the Mayor is setting her up for failure.

Hiring non-qualified Public Works Directors is a Lumumba family tradition as his father hired Willie Bell in that position.

Anonymous said...

KF- why didnt you allow my post on the Savanna Street WWTP? that plant is just as important to everyone downstream as the OBC and Fewell are to Jacksonites!
While tater has EPA in town, they need to work on the raw Boo Boo!

Fly on the wall said...

To be fair, Yarber tried to hire local republican lobbyists when he was first elected as he wanted to have someone in the room with the republican power players. The council vetoed his request and thus the city kept the same lobbyist who had zero relations in republican circles.

BTW, how are Quincy and the DC firm doing in securing federal funds? They were hired last fall with the promise to get federal funds??

(Rumor has it that Bennie lit into councilmembers last year when they were in DC chastising them because the city did not have a federal lobbyist working the Hill)

Anonymous said...

KF, the optics of Hillman are beyond terrible. Lumumba, Omari and Hillman are going to represent Jackson during this crisis? He's either mentally unstable or struggling with a drug addiction or both.

Kingfish said...

You wrote in all caps. Also, the raw booboo jokes are getting repetitive, monotonous, and long past stale.

JSU plays FAMU in Miami like last year. Let’s see if woke ESPN is dumb enough again to not show the bands at halftime.

Murrah and Callaway are supposed to play at Veterans Memorial Saturday as are Lanier and Provine

Millsaps and Belhaven are supposed to play each other Thursday

The Mayor sucks

CNBC seemed to get the story right. Wonder what those people think about their “sister” coworkers over at MSNBC?

The flood was the best thing that could have happened to this mair.

He saw a perfect opportunity to shift blame away from his incompetent administration.

On the national "news" level, it worked.

The press bought-in to this goofy flood excuse and has ran with it.

Anonymous said...

😂 @ KF
I agree about the boo-boo.
But you are the king of stale jokes!
You still misprint Delbert’s name and have done similar lame shit for years on end.

You are right though. Nothing screams impotent boomer rage like all caps!

Anonymous said...

all i can say is, someone better check on savanna wwtp...

Anonymous said...

1:26 PM, She won't last long enough to need one.

Anonymous said...

"The flood led to the challenges."

This guy is going to stick with that lie and die in the ditch with it. And anyone who suggests otherwise is a racist.

Anonymous said...

Just a few days ago Chockwe was on the news saying he drank the water ‘ it is safe. Every lady & man at Sams in Pearl at 8 am & said the mayor was lying & does not drink the water. Maybe National news should be honest & air him saying that on public tv. 12:52 what would you expect Pearl to do with unsafe water ?

Anonymous said...

Is anybody going to write a real report about whether the flood is the actual problem here? because it seems like the flood might have just been the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back I did notice in the press conference the state officials did keep referring to the years of issues that preexisted this recent flood

Anonymous said...

Does the mayor even really live in Jackson? I know his address is in the expensive gated community. But Does he actually live there and deal with this water like the rest of us peasants?

Anonymous said...

I am so thankful that Pearl/Rankin County were smart enough to separate from the city of Jackson treating their waste water. Great call.

Anonymous said...

A real report on facts and actual flood relevance is not needed 3:33pm.

The media has no use for such, and all time spent on such frivolity would be wasted.

Just like any time spent listening to Mayor Moron and his plethora of excuses is.

He does not need to be anything but a minority to be absolutely bullet proof* and beloved.

*There's a getting-shot-at in Jackson pun in there and I know it, but I am too tired to flesh it out.

Anonymous said...

Why not let the PRVWSD take over the Jackson water system?
Their name says it all - Pearl River Valley Water Supply District

They control the source, they also run a smaller but well functioning distribution system.

It would be easier for them to ramp up than getting another government involved.

I have been on their water system for 30 years and it has always worked well.

Anonymous said...

@ "Suddenly (after how many terms in office?) David Blount gives a damn that some people in Byram pay exorbitant water rates for Jackson water? He hasn't ever given a damn about this issue until all hell broke loose."

If memory serves, Blount has introduced or cosponsored a bill to remedy that, every term since he's been in the legislature.

Anonymous said...

If Blount is that ineffective he's certainly qualified to be Mayor of Jackson.

Anonymous said...

Reassigned man was an architect.

Anonymous said...

5:09, that is absolutely correct. David Blount does all he can, but the legislature kills his bills in committee every. single. time.

I'd like to see Blount sponsor legislation that allows for mayoral recall in circumstances like this.

When 'city' services fail, it's because 'city' leadership failed.

Period.

Don't blame your state representatives for the incompetence of the city leaders voters chose to (re)elect.

Anonymous said...

Is there anyone competent willing to run for mayor of Jackson? Black or white or republican or democrat or Jewish or Catholic we need integrity. So sick of these little immature privileged brats in these top positions. Time to get serious people. Jackson is crumbling

Anonymous said...

6:42 you may as well remove White and Republican from that list.
It simply wont happen.

No matter how sick WE are of the plight of Jackson, the voters are not.

The voters (majority anyway) are genuinely mad at Tate and think this would never have happened if only a minority/Dem was in the Governors seat.

Life is much more peaceful once you realize logic and reason does not to Liberal minded cities. The truth is racist if it does not allow Democrats politicians to thrive. Full stop.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
