Hinds County District Attorney Bradley McCullouch issued the following statement yesterday.
Hinds County District Attorney Brad McCullouch announced today that a jury found 32-year-old Troylanden Harris guilty of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Shooting Into a Vehicle, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Assistant District Attorneys Louis Coleman and Carrie Jourdan prosecuted the case. The convictions stem from a violent shooting spree carried out by Harris on August 3, 2023, along Nashville Street in Jackson, MS. The shootings killed 47-year-old Kelvin Irving and wounded Tavarius Melvin, 25, and Darius Friday, 32. Jackson Police officers responding to reports of gunfire found Irving lying in the yard of a Nashville Street residence with two gunshot wounds to the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Later that evening, officers interviewed Melvin and Friday at a local hospital. Melvin had been shot in the neck while driving to visit a friend. Friday suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and chest after a man approached his vehicle and opened fire. Officers later located Harris at a residence on Eminence Row and took him into custody. Harris was sentenced to life in prison for First-Degree Murder, followed by 20 years for Aggravated Assault. His sentences on the second Aggravated Assault conviction and two counts of Shooting Into a Vehicle will run concurrently with the 20-year Aggravated Assault sentence. Harris was also sentenced to an additional 10 years for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, to run consecutively to all other sentences, resulting in an effective sentence of life plus 30 years. “This defendant turned a residential neighborhood into something resembling a war zone, with gunfire erupting near homes and leaving one man dead and two others wounded,” said District Attorney Brad McCullouch. “It is difficult to imagine the fear experienced by the people who live, worship, and raise their families in that neighborhood. This sentence holds Harris accountable for the violence he brought to their community.”

Why so light a sentence?
Not Troylandon!
9:48 exactly. Death sentence here. Why not exactly? Is it expected that this animal will be reformed? LMAO.
At 5’7” perhaps he was upset that he could get his carryon luggage out of the overhead compartment on his last flight into JAN?
He gone and will never see freedom.
Auntie: "But he is such a good boy. He was only distributing Bibles to the needy and got a ride in the wrong car."
