Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
Approximately 4:30pm on Monday, August 10, 2026, deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Cedar Ridge & Cedar Stone neighborhoods off Hwy 468 near Pearl in reference to a burglary.
After arriving on scene, the suspect fled from deputies back into the residence and then barricaded himself inside.
The Rankin County Sheriff's Department Special Response Team along with its ancillary units responded to the scene.

As of 8:25pm, the suspect who has multiple aliases was in custody. A records check revealed that Christian Banks Lane II aka Banks Christian Nathaniel Lane has a lengthy criminal history involving 15 felony arrests, 12 misdemeanor arrests. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was currently on Parole through the MS Department of Corrections for Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The suspect has been charged with Residential Burglary and is being housed at the Rankin County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
When crimes like this occur, the citizens of Rankin County can take comfort in knowing that Sheriff Bryan Bailey and the men and women of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office will work tirelessly to investigate the case, identify those responsible, and bring them to justice. We remain committed to protecting our citizens and keeping Rankin County a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
