Mission Mississippi, a nonprofit organization committed to Christian reconciliation and racial healing throughout the community, will host a conference and banquet tomorrow at the Jackson Convention Complex in downtown Jackson. This event will serve as the culmination for Mission Mississippi’s 30th Anniversary.
Beginning at 3:00 p.m., the conference will frame four informative, conversational, and eye-opening workshops to discuss questions such as:• How can strangers of different ethnicities and cultures become the best of friends?
• How can Christians become unifiers in the workplace?
• What does the future hold for people seeking to “Live Reconciled” by building deeper relationships with those of a different race?
Brian Crawford, President of Mission Mississippi, will be the keynote speaker. Crawford assumed the leadership role earlier this year. Following the workshops, the event will include a live podcast recording to discuss 30 years of living reconciled.
At 6:30 p.m., the conference will lead into an evening banquet to include a diverse musical experience and the inaugural luminary awards, where those who have made a significant impact throughout Mississippi will be recognized. Dinner will be served at the banquet.
“What started 30 years ago as a one-time statewide gathering of people from all walks of life to celebrate the oneness we enjoy in Christ has now become the leading movement of reconciliation and racial healing in our state,” said Crawford. “This celebration has events to energize citizens for October 2023 and beyond to enhance and improve their lives and their churches, businesses, and communities across Mississippi.”
