Rant of the Day

This post appeared on a Facebook page oriented to our local politics.  What set him off is State Senator Angela Hill sponsored a bill to get rid of Certificate of Need laws, a worthy endeavor.  Just read the screed.

YES, it would be worth salvaging the CON laws. Just insurance caps alone would stop a lot of this crap going on. This is one of those times that I support regulated Capitalism, to stop abuse. But my soon to be opponent wants to scrap and gut CON laws all together. That's 100% Big Pharma, Big Medicine, Big Hospitals, Big Medical groups move. With no state regulation comes exactly the kind of take down that Democrats pulled on Trump's presidency. How can you call yourself a Republican and support a bill to strip CON laws? Some of these so-called 5 Conservatives, AKA The Great Ones, are making moves to scrap these laws. This is Medicaid reform, a pretty way of saying Medicaid Expansion. I'm sorry, but this is the way that it is. Those who are friends with these people can't see past that, or are blinded by what they've done in the past. Favoritism, RINO-mentality moves. Honestly, some lawmakers don't know any of the damage they are causing for our children and the future of Mississippi. This topic is only regarding Medical Freedom. It goes much deeper than that. And at the head of the chain of command, are out-of-the-state and -country lobbying firms, pulling the strings. If there was such a thing as an honest person in our corner, I wouldn't have to run for office. I would oblige any politician, for free, just to look over a bill before it's pushed, and sit back and advise, anonymously. I don't know it ALL, but I surely won't follow the masses. I'll use former states as well-learned mistakes. The average citizen of Mississippi doesn't have time to look into this or know where to look. It takes a lot of homework. So like I said above, they just take a politician's word for it. And these little subgroups and PAC organizations support this without knowing the full truth. People ask me silly questions like, "Why would I run against one of the most 'Conservative' Senators in Mississippi?" This is why; because Senate is a lawmaker's position. It has nothing to do with personality or friendships. This is my final answer to why I plan to run against Hill. It is ABSOLUTELY nothing personal. And I HATE labels. This is why you see Independent above my name, the only label I'll identify with. AGAIN, nothing personal....and WE should never take it there. I have no problem with people running their 2020 PAC organization; they're free to support anybody they want. I just simply don't support turning Mississippi into a complete welfare state. I don't care if 85% of Mississippians are on some kind of assistance. I'm not eager to push that to 100%, with higher taxes to substitute. Wilkes has already voted for the tax restructure, and the nice guise of teacher pay raises. By the time they finish, teachers are going to break even, paying higher taxes on goods and services (possibly as high as 10%). I'm glad Hopkins voted against it. But it still has to go to the Senate. My prediction is, it will pass the Senate, and that's not good in the long run. These people know exactly what they're doing. So yeah, down here in Southwestern MS, both the House Rep and the Senator need to be replaced, in my opinion. But I can't do both. And I'm not going to attempt to justify this again. I only hope that I get elected, get in, and others help reverse this damage. I'm for smaller government....NOT for smaller state government and bigger Federal intervention. It's extremely difficult to pound this into people's brains, when they spend all night on the phone with their friends, convincing them they're in their corner. And I'm just one district...this is happening ALL OVER Mississippi. In the end of all of this, I want Mississippians to be left alone, not go through a restructure, AGAIN. People need to stop sitting back and accepting this slave mentality. And Political Incest and Nepotism needs to END. The only political prison cell is the one we make ourselves, by living inside the confinements. No one can honestly tell me there's any way that federally backed healthcare industries, with grant money, is going to give us a better shot at vaccine choice. They're going to push so many mandates, it will be impossible to resist. The first time you refuse a vaccine for your child, you're going into database of other people who have been red-flagged. Just like Louisiana, just like California. Louisiana has had its CON laws partially gutted; just look at the result. Harassment every day, by state welfare services. Without divulging too much information to the bad guys listening, the answer lies in PACs and caps. Stronger support and stronger bills for philosophical and religious exemptions, not strip all the CON laws and let the federal government and hospitals team up to run rampant across Mississippi. Look at this administration....you think it's going to let you have a religious exemption? They don't even believe in God. Mississippi has to rely on itself, and keep as much of the 10th amendment intact as possible. Before you throw stones at my OPINION, go back and read it again. ~RISHTON, for Senate District 40~ Let's clean up Mississippi and keep Big Brother out. STATE'S RIGHTS. Let's do our homework before we jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. If you want to know more about this, next time you have a freedom rally, invite ME to speak. I'll explain all of this, and more. I was going to show, but I received this blow back over calling out Burks Hill, over 2 counts of Pfizer money acceptance in 2018, and 2019. And I wasn't personally invited. So I've dedicated myself to a private meeting on the 19th, that can benefit more of my district. I'll be focused on ways to audit the vote, that will be corrupt in the November of '23 elections, and how to defeat BGR and Delbert's voting machines, to have a fair and accurate election. Thank you for your inquiry. RISHTON..............NO MORE OF THIS HAUGHTY, CAVALIER, HIGH-BROW, LOW-BROW SIDEWAYS question and answer sessions. Talk to me like a normal human being. Ask me questions like a normal human being. I sincerely have the best intentions. And my only investment is the future of my children, your children and our grandchildren. Any benefits to adults are just a by-product. People seem to forget what's most important in this world. I understand; that's why I'm reminding. I wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice a political run, if it was in the best interest of our children's futures. So bring forth the candidate, and produce the evidence. As you look at the bills proposed, remember....every seat is up for re-election. I can write bills so beautifully, highlighting your freedom, knowing that they'll die in committee. We need bills that pass. Both House and Senate. In fact, if I were writing bills now, I'd be hoisted upon shoulders, called a 'champion of freedom' and all of that hoopla. I am strategically focused on realistic measures. To their defense, it's hard for ANY freedom bill to go through, without adequate support. This is why we must push forward, true Conservative leaders, across Mississippi. So find yourself a trusted candidate NOW. Don't wait 6 months before the election.

Um, the Mississippi medical establishment completely supports CON laws.  That includes the Mississippi Hospital Association, the State Medical Association, and yes, even Dr. Dobbs.  Won't post his name but this dude is completely clueless on who supports CON laws in Mississippi.  Fire away in the comments.

I read some research from an Ole Miss grad and went to one of his talks on CON laws. It was pretty informative, and I think it’s time we get rid of Certificates of Need. The whole idea of “being conservative is being against CON” is pretty antithetical, I think. Maybe there will be some more research done on it, but I think it’s pretty narrow because the hospitals block it up.

Somebody got on the keyboard before they drank their coffee, it seems.

All I had to do is see how long it was to know he is a late night keyboard warrior who thinks people read his stuff.

This idiot isn't more than 30 years old and doesn't understand basic economics nor local politics. Sigh. The world is now saturated with these poor fools.

I can't wait for 2023 when all kinds of these folks will be on the ballot.

He doesn't understand politics.
He doesn't understand economics.
He doesn't understand the basic law he is ranting about.
He thinks Senator Hill is anything but a conservative.

He will make a great candidate. Probably exceed the 15% threshold that separates the wannabees from the idiots.

But, he might not cross that rubicon and he will forever be stuck in the idiot group.

Dude, step away from the mirror (I'm talking about the one laying on the table, not the one hanging on the wall).

Maybe it's just me...I'm sorry, but I cannot read a non-stop paragraph containing 534 words.

If the blog admin had wanted to, he could easily have broken it into random paragraphs while he was copying and pasting.

Meanwhile: Groups of doctors own all the MRI machines and can move them at will.

Patient safety should be an essential plan. That includes not getting shot at, accosted, robbed or raped on the way downtown.

Wish there was some stuff actually readable on CON policies. Not sure I know much about them.

At first, I thought this may be Robert Foster, but he just posts memes and tries to rally his troops with much shorter blurbs that he recycles every few days. Man, that Christmas tree farmer sure knows a lot about everything. You don't even have to ask him, he'll tell you.

The author also needs to mix in a paragraph break here and there. I would go blind, or fall asleep, trying to read all that.

"How can you call yourself a Republican and support a bill to strip CON laws?"

EASY !!! CON sucks.

and I'm a doctor by the way.

I've found that the people who support CON the most are exactly those abusing the artifical business moat those laws provide to existing CON holders.

Google up Regulatory Capture.

If the CON laws go away, look for all the hospitals moving to areas that have critical masses of insured populations.

Gave up after two sentences.

@3:31 I initially thought it was Robert Foster, too. Your description is spot on!

No surprise there’s no research. UMMC benefits most. UM stops research from going forward.

Do Baptist and St. Dom already have sites picked out in Madison?

The CON law is facing a constitutional challenge in MS. Judge Reeves dismissed the motion to dismiss and it will proceed with a trial on the merits: From Reason.com: https://reason.com/volokh/2022/01/17/claim-that-certificate-of-need-law-lacks-a-rational-basis-can-go-forward/

Clearly this person has no idea what "regulatory capture" is.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
