Unbelievable

Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba placed the EPA Emergency Administrative Order issued a year ago on the agenda for discussion at today's meeting of the Jackson City Council.  Guess what happened?

The Mayor and City Council went into executive session to discuss the order.

You can't make this up. More to follow.

Completely believable. Hope the other council members remembered to sharpen their knives.

What the hell do you want fish? Decisions like this take time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. This was a planned event to bring a serious issue to the forefront. And all you do is trash Caesar. If Caesar doesn’t mind his minions drinking toxic sludge then neither should you. Were you re-elected to the mayorship? I think not. Intelligent people decide who they want making decisions for them. It saves a lot of wear and tear on other people having to use their own brains. You do this every week! Cry to the heavens that people could be injured by Chokwheats disastrous and feckless efforts. Well if the people demand feckless then feckless it should be. Mind your own damn business. Crap go save the whales or something useful.

Total cover-up.

The news purveyors in Jax will continue to glaze over the water poisoning issue. Still no mention of the fact that the mayor made a decision to risk the health of those left in or passing thru the city. Instead WLBT decided to report on another "resolution". (sic)! They should stop wasting money and close the news departments in Jackson.

This isn't unbelievable at all. You don't need to have clean water to vote Democrat. None of these people care about anything other than votes. Going by election results year after year I'm not sure why they should care about the wellbeing of the population since they get reelected anyway. People cry over the bodies of their dead kids then run to the voting booth to elect the people that let their kids' killer out of jail years too soon.

This was a planned event to bring a serious issue to the forefront.

Planned event? Unlikely. Nope. Lumumba's hand was forced. He and members of his staff, including former members, have been hiding the damning report for a year. Deception was the only planned activity taking place here.

"It being essential to the fundamental philosophy of the American constitutional form of representative government and to the maintenance of a democratic society that public business be performed in an open and public manner . . . it is hereby declared to be the policy of the State of Mississippi that the formation and determination of public policy is public business and shall be conducted at open meetings except as otherwise provided herein."

Miss. Code Ann. § 25-41-1.

Contrary to the desires of some, Jackson is a political subdivision of the State of Mississippi, not an independent sovereign.

Unless the issue fits into one of the exceptions listed in Miss. Code Ann. § 25-41-7(4), conducting the city's business behind closed doors is illegal. Also, the individuals who break this law can apparently be held personally liable for doing so.

"[T]he Ethics Commission may impose a civil penalty upon the individual members of the public body found to be in violation of the provision of this chapter in a sum not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for a first offense and One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for a second or subsequent offense, plus all reasonable expenses incurred by the person or persons in bringing the complaint to enforce this chapter."

Miss. Code Ann. § 25-41-15.

After this every Antar Lumumba decision is now suspect.

Going forward Jackson won't receive any more money from the State without rigid oversight if not outright state project level management and spending controls.

This is what happens when those in positions of authority are exposed as recklessly dishonest.

Antar Lumumba can not say that Jackson water has always been safe because the EPA has blown the whistle that the checks and balances to insure, measure and guarantee that safety were not be followed.

Chowkey now trying to throw MSDH under the bus. Let me guess, everyone working there is white and a racist. ROFLMAO

How long has it been since you've seen it Melvin? Do you need a mirro?

Anonymous said...

Why is calling out the Mayor for being incompetent, considered racist? Just because you aren’t white does not mean you can always pretend you didn’t know the rules. Who will hold Lumumba accountable for his mistreating and misleading his biggest supporters? How does this keep happening?

Explain how you think this is racist. no bullshit. just an explanation.
The mayor held back this information. This impacts every citizen in the capitol city. Do, how is breaking the story racist? Ill wait.

Tell me, Melvin, does "racist" mean anything other than critical of (obviously lying) black politicians?

Maybe the mayor’s hiding the raw sewage news is one of the reasons for all of the Jackson “COVID deaths!!!!”

Per WLBT (https://www.wlbt.com/2021/04/13/mayor-says-epa-order-not-about-water-quality-copy-order-seems-say-different/)

> Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba said Jackson water quality is not unsafe, and that an EPA order is more “a discussion over process than it is over quality of water.”

>Lumumba refused to go into details during open session but said Jackson’s water quality has never been in question.

>“I would say this is more a discussion over process than it is over quality of water,” he said. “It would be not only a failure of the city of Jackson, it would be a failure of the Mississippi State Department of Health … for us to OK bad water for the residents of Jackson.”

EPA Letter(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ORms84jXsP09wWimPu_kIZWpsN4l3dfq/view)

>In it [letter by EPA date 3,27,202], the agency states that “conditions exist at the system that present an imminent and substantial endangerment to the persons served by the system.”

Lying Lumumba.

Dang 5:29 it’s just news, don’t get your panties in a wad! I read this blog just for information, not to get my blood pressure up! Kingfish is just putting out info, some many readers don’t like some do!

Let just love thy neighbor and stop this hateful rhetoric.

I’m really focused on this Matt Graetz saga now! Not what’s going on in the city of Jackson!

6:30 You're right about not getting money from the State of MS, but just watch, Uncle Joe is gonna fill the coffers of this fine city! WAY too many democrats concentrated in one place to let it fail! Baby Chok ain't got nuttin to worry 'bout!

@6:08, listen Karen....

We know you're on your period, so get some Midol, prop up those swollen ankles and eat a gallon of Rocky Road and chill out....

Anturd will do something even stupider before the month is out.

Jackson has sent warning letters re just this for years folks

No supporter of Antard or his incompetence, but....Going into executive session to 'discuss potentially pending legal action' is an allowable 'excuse' for adjourning to private quarters. However, upon reconnoitering does require an announcement as to the general purpose for the adjournment. Who knows whether the latter occurred.

Charges were brought forth in Flynt Michigan, for this same criminal act.
Charges will eventually be brought forth and that will put a stop to the Lumumba Clown Show.
Lying Lumumba, hiding EPA report Lumumba.

KKKingfish is a racist and thats a fact. He had 28 days in Feb 2021 to acknowledge Black History Month. He never posted a single thing to his blog. But he did shit on Mayor Lumumba numerous times in February.

By officially and publicly bringing this white-hot potato "problem" to the council, the Mayor has now distributed the responsibility for it among them. No fan of Chokwe, but that's being politically shrewd.

In politics, success is knowing who to distribute blame on to. Now the media has seven other people to pry into and harass on the subject. What are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing?.....is all the council members are going to hear for a long while, and Chokwe can have Mr. Sam shine his shoes, relax, and get his next spin cycle ready.

'white flight!' says a American Black voting group. Noticed the middle class AA, a large group, and the smaller wealthier AA even those in NAACP roles are not moving into Jackson. Making the city safe, using the old NYC stake out squad actions if needed is a first step. Even the Congressman is what I would call 'farm country'.

@5:29 "Rome wasn't built in a day." You do realize that the ancients Romans had the most complex engineered water & wastewater system in the world at the time. No modern technology and probably still had better water quality than Jackson does.

Anonymous said...

Hey @8:12 perhaps you should really read @5:29 comments again. He wasn’t complementing the mayor.

If this shit-show of a mayor is re-elected, either the election process is corrupt or the electorate are predominantly dumb as rocks, or both.

Going into executive session is analogous to "taking the fifth."

6:38 made me laugh. I needed that.

Also Melvin, just stop. You are so outwitted here.

Just stop.

I would like to see (from a long distance) what Jackson would look like in ten years if the state government, colleges and hospitals weren't there.

Anonymous said...

Not unbelievable at all. That piece of shit is gonna get 4 more years to mess Jackson up even further. He was a mediocre lawyer and s crappy mayor.

Anonymous said...

@8:25 AM
Definitely not outwitted by the dipstick who can’t even get the time stamp correct for the commenter they are replying too!

Anonymous said...

2:03 -- correct. BUT, there has to be some pending 'legal matters. Hizhonor's call for this executive session was due to the potential consent decree relating to the now public ORDER of the EPA.

To discuss the order, what is going on at the plant, what corrective actions have been taken or are planned to be taken is not a "legal" matter. Antwar's move was to get off the camera while he stammered his way through not having notified the Council of this year old Order.

Yes, if there were a 'legal' matter to discuss, Executive Session can be warranted. But the operation of the citys water treatment plant is not a legal matter. At least, not yet.

Anonymous said...

Hey 9:58, 8:25 here.

I replied properly.

Let me see if I can dumb this down for your feeble brain to follow.

6:38 made fun of Melvin/aka 6:08.
6:38 made me laugh BECAUSE he made fun of Melvin/aka 6:08.
I enjoy 6:38.
I do not enjoy Melvin/aka 6:08.

aka means "also known as"

Try to keep up dipstick. (aka Melvin)

If there is a "potential" for litigation, the board can go into an executive session to discuss the matter. Perhaps there is some concern in the Administration about liability to the City and exposure to litigation from customers?

Please post comment after the executive session on April 13, 2021.If you go to tell a story please tell hold story.

What makes this even worse is that Lumamba KNEW that three million gallons of toxic sludge had been dumped into the water supply feeding treatment plants that he ALSO KNEW did not work. In other words; he stood by and said nothing as his constituents were being poisoned. I would be willing to bet all I own that he does not drink the city water. Kind of like PG&E/Erin Brockovich.

That was Melvin Robinson. I submitted public records requests and surprise, the city is playing games with them.

No problem Mellie, I can do this longer than you. I can go to Ethics or Chancery. It won't even be a fair fight. Don't comply, I just go for contempt. No problem. I've done it before and will do it again.

I think the references to ancient Rome are spot-on, though perhaps unwittingly.

The Roman aqueducts where made with lead, as were the drinking vessels and cookware of the elite Romans. Many believe lead poisoning of its ruling class led to Rome's downfall.

Wait, doesn't Executive session cost the tax payers more money? Why sit on this for a year and then cost the tax payers more money to talk about it? Am I missing something?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
