Commission: Kick Weisenberger off the bench

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance recommended that the Mississippi Supreme Court remove Madison Justice Court judge Bill Weisenberger from the bench.  Oddly enough, Mr. Weisenberger would leave office at the end of the year anyway.  The Commission also asked the court to fine the judge $1,000 and require him  to pay $5,918.  The punishments are related several events that occurred at the Canton Flea Market in 2014. The details are published below in a press release and findings issued by the Commission.

Me and my friends voted for him solely because of what happened at the flea market. We desperately need more men like him.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Wow.

10:22 you really show your ignorance. It is hard to believe that ANYONE with a high school diploma can be a Justice Court Judge in Mississippi. Well, not really. After all this is Mississippi.

There should be a minimum requirement of a law license to be any judge.

Few things are worse than a bully with a badge. Weisenberger was one of those for a good while. Then he became something worse: a bully with a judge's gavel. (His redneck bully son, sadly, still has a badge.)

He needs to be indicted & imprisoned.

A horrible redneck like him should never be put in a position of authority.

And by the way: he was warned by numerous attorneys and LEOs that he was headed for trouble. He ignored them all, and deserves every bit of the humiliation & misery.

Get a load of his replacement.

11:21 -

"Get a load of" what? Mr. Spivey has yet to assume office; so I guess you're predicting he'll do something worse than assaulting a retarded kid & calling him the N word? Or he'll sentence a black defendant to more than 4 times the maximum offense for a 1st offense DUI?

Will Weisenberger? Is that you?

Why not beat up some more "suspects," Will, & brag about it on Facebook?

Has he been suspended with pay all these months?

So, did he actually DO what he was accused of doing? After the news media told us that George Zimmerman is white, I don't believe ANYTHING I read off newspapers' websites. I assume everything in these stories is a series of distortions and fabrications.

Does anyone know the REAL story here?

Just as sad is the fact the man that repeatedly groped women at the flea market and no one would press charges against him.

Yes, he has been drawing his full judges pay since he slapped the guy including health insurance. He has not been on the bench either. The Board of supervisors voted to continue to pay him even though he would not be doing the job he was elected to so. I don't understand the Judicial Performance board saying something now when Weisenberger only has another week and a half of being a judge anyway. Why put him "off the bench" now?? So he wont collect his last week and a half of pay???

His replacement, Spivey, was elected on his daddys name. Lots of people that voted for Spivey thinking he is an attorney but hes not. I'm not real sure what he does,....oil and gas leases maybe.

@10:51 - You're correct just look at the two new Justice Court judge elects. Martina Griffin, BOS Paul Griffins daughter. She is no better than Weisenberger. She and her daddy are as big a racists and biggots as Weisenberger ever was. At least Weisenberger had law enforcement experience.

Lloyd Spivey, I think the wrong Spivey ran for judge. Should've been Danny.

Supes did not vote to continue to pay him. The Ms. Supreme Court ruled that his pay could not be stopped absent a hearing and thus a chance to defend himself. Due process and all that jazz.

I'm thinking this action will preclude his ever running for the position again. The circus act surrounding the Board of Supervisors (and it's rabbit trails) is another discussion.

This guy is a clown in his own right and has no business in a position of authority. I'm thinking maybe a clerk at a Tractor Supply place or the Co-op would be a good match.

I stand corrected Kingfish. Politicians, lawyers and judges all take care of one another.

Time management said...

So how much of my tax dollars went to court costs to remove him from the bench a week earlier than his planned exit?

Anonymous said...

At 5:38. None. Either they do something productive, like this, or they sit around the office harassing clerks and eating peanuts.

Anonymous said...

We're talking about justice court judges here, people. They're not real judges. Move along.

Nobody was taking care of anybody by the continuation of his pay. The man was elected to a position and as an elected official he cannot just be 'fired' and 'removed from office' in the same manner as an employee. There is that little thing KF mentions which is 'due process' - and it applies to elected officials, politicians, lawyers and judges just like I am sure 5:16 would expect it to be applied to him if he were accused of a wrongdoing.

I don't like the fact that he got paid while under investigation any more than most - but I would rather him get paid for doing nothing than to have him continue on the bench - particularly under a cloud of the investigation.

And BTW, he is not the first, nor the last, official to get paid under similar circumstances. Get over it and find something else to bitch about.

As to how much it will cost to remove him now - probably nothing. The Commission and the Court members all are on a salary and this will not add anything to their workload - they dont get overtime and all the investigation has been finished. I'm glad they are proceeding because it will insure that he cannot run for Judge again in the future.

yea, like we need more crooked lawyers running the show. @@

He has 7 more working days left to be a judge.....big whoop. Even if they get him off the bench today he will miss out on about $769. In the grand scheme of things that's nothing. Especially at justice court. Let one person get fired, quit or retire at Justice Court and everyone left gets a raise while the rest of the county get squat. There isn't a soul there that puts in a 40 hour week. Justice court employees are allowed to only work 4 days a week while all other county employees work a 5 day week and they'll close the building whenever the mood strikes them be it holiday, a crumb of ice falls from the sky or what.

Sheesh....Puleeze.... said...

7:41; Turn your cap around, Idiot. The point here is not to penalize him pay-wise. The point is to remove him from the bench, making it impossible for him to run again. See how that works?

Not one neutral witness has come forward to corroborate the alleged groping. Likewise, no victims of the alleged groping have filed any complaints. Perhaps the groping was created to give the judge an excuse for his behavior. There were several neutral witnesses to Weisenberger's actions.

The two witnesses to the slapping recanted when subpoenaed.

A law degree really needs to be required to keep it professional and trash like this guy out.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
