BREAKING: GEORGE BELL III GETS LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE

George Bell III received a sentence of life without parole for the September beating death and sexual assault of his girlfriend, Heather Spencer, after a plea bargain was reached between Mr. Bell and Attorney General Jim Hood (who appeared in court to represent the state). Mr. Bell also received a sentence of 30 years (will run concurrently with the life sentence) for the kidnapping of Ms. Spencer's roomate (she will not be identified here). A shaky George Bell, III apologized the to courtroom and the family, then read a scripture. Mr. Bell was represented by attorney Tom Royals, former law partner of Ed Peters.

Robbie Bell, who has been indicted as an accessory, did not appear in court.

Update: I just saw something that caught my eye on the WJTV website:
"Bell admitted to kidnapping, sexually assaulting and then beating and strangling his girlfriend, Heather Spencer, to death. " http://www.wapt.com/news/15211732/detail.html

This very interesting for several reasons. This is the first time a possible strangling was mentioned. All other media coverage has omitted that word as it has been consistently reported Mr. Bell beat the late Heather Spencer to death and sexually assualted her. It is strange suddenly today, Mr. Bell said under oath that he strangled Ms. Spencer.

If Ms. Spencer's death was caused by strangling, that would mean she probably died during Monday evening, not Tuesday morning. This is VERY important since Mr. Bell's mother, Robbie Bell, was indicted for being an accessory as the media reported it was possible Ms. Spencer died Tuesday morning, not Monday evening. Such a scenario would provide Ms. Bell with a possible defense as she would probably not at home when the attack occurred.

There is just one problem with this defense and it is the fact the autopsy established a time of death. Either she died earlier of strangulation, which would shut off the oxygen to the brain or she died of the beating. This is important as it has been alleged Ms. Spencer did not die for several hours. The coroner's report will state the cause of death and if the allegations are true, consequently, there remains a strong possibilitly a conspiracy between Mr. Bell and his mother exists and his statement he strangled Heather (the family was outraged when they heard this, one of the relatives started shouting it was a lie in the courtroom) is his attempt to get Robbie Bell off the hook.

For other stories on the Heather Spencer case, scroll down and see sidebar on the right side of this page.

Note: watched all three news broadcasts at 5:00. WLBT had the best as Wendy Suares gave good analysis and was able to get several good interviews.

Here is Heather's mother's statement in the courtroom. See Featured videos below screen:

No doubt that he feared a jury of his Hinds Countian peers would not feel the least restrained from sending a rich white boy packing via a death penalty.

Problem is that by showing remorse, having a positive attitude and working hard to be well behaved he may never end up at Parchman or he could get transferred out of there in short order.

Don't be so sure.

The trial would've probably been moved. No inside info, just guess.

He'll never see daylight again. When the inmates find out the details of what happened that night, lets just say I would not be surprised if the sexual assault part happened again.

repeatedly. and repeatedly. If I was Georgie, I'd be getting in touch with my metrosexual side.

He may have been geniunely remorseful as this was probably the first time he has not been under the influence of drugs or had mommy enabling every little thing he did.

I think that last sentence is the untold story of this whole tragedy.

With all that took place, I am sure he will do his time at Parchman. After all, Ed Cates did, until he died there.

don't worry, I can assure you I will be staying on top of this one and any more facts will be posted as they are discovered.

There are many, many people who committed equally as hideous murders who aren't spending their life sentences in Parchman.

Ed Cates (former Prominent!!!! Jackson Attorney and former Jackson Commissioner) spent his sentence at Parchman.

for those of you who think that parchman is full of 10 feet tall men just waiting on another man who may or may not have sexually assaulted someone to come in and make themselves their girlfriend.. you are way off.

i'm not saying it's a good or bad thing.

but I DO KNOW from a personal friend who has had PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AT PARCHMAN that that is not the way it goes down.

the fags keep to themselves and other obvious fags. it's not a free for all.

as long as you (as an inmate) keep both respect and fear at bay.. then (after a while) life gets pretty "normal" ... if you will.

please keep in mind that George was controlled by drugs at the time of Heather's murder. Granted.. HE CHOSE to do the drugs. But unless you have first hand experience with the hands down control that drugs have over true addicts.. YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

why don't you all keep Heather's family, George's family and George in your prayers. Last I checked.. thou shall not judge was right up there with thou shall not murder.

Dear Christians, God is the Judge. Not you.

One further thought:

The scene in the courtroom was rather striking in that one had a chance to examine two mothers that will be forever tied to this tragedy. One mother stood up for her daughter. She constantly flew down here from Michigan. She posted her thoughts about her daughter. When it was time to stand up for her daughter, she was there in the courtoom. Voice quaking with sorrow, eyes filled with tears but yet through all the pain and trembling there was a strenght that one could not ignore, a strength caused by the love for her daughter who is greatly missed by so many. She quietly told the courtroom what her daughter meant to her as she held up a picture of Heather, a picture that was a symbol of the tragedy of it all. Meanwhile, Ms. Bell was nowhere in the courtroom, leaving her son to his fate. When it was 3:00 AM in the middle of the night, she was there for her son. Yet when he was facing the worst moment of his life, she chose to not be there for her son. There is no doubt that her lawyers told her to stay away as there would have been a media circus. However, one would think that there are times that the welfare of one's child comes before anything else, including how one looks to the public. A quivering mother, forever hurt by a loss that will never heal, yet showed her love for her daughter when it really counted while the other was nowhere to be found as her son faced his trial alone.

Let's not forget....While he may get punishment on this earth, His real judgement lies beyond what we sentence him to. His true fate lies with his maker!!

From the Clarion-Ledger comments on this story:

I couldn't imagine how much restraint JPD SWAT had before apprehending this idiot. Suicide by cop was the easy way. Plus, with the amount of coverage on scene, the media would have just portrayed JPD as the enemy when they took him out. I had the unpleasant opportunity of meeting Bell's mother days after this incident. She showed no expressions of remorse and I think she should suffer the same fate as her son.

Thank you, last anonymous. Made me cry. I know this guilty plea must bring some closure to Heather's family, but it's still not over.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
