Actually, he released himself on his own recognizance. He felt the institution no longer had anything to offer him.

I'm not at all impressed by his wife's post. She makes it sound like (and obviously believes) he was done wrong, suffered the wrath of an evil society and, thanks to many pleas to a kind God, her man was freed from an undeserved yoke.

Actually, she might realize that God only entered the picture when HE gave man the sense to construct laws and insist (in the Bible) that they be followed. She might also thank God that her man was not sentenced to fifteen years with eight more to serve.
