Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump , that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

The hanging of a 19-year-old wrestler on Thursday intensified concerns over the fate of other detained athletes, with fears growing that more executions could follow in cases linked to protests earlier this year.
Three protesters – Mehdi Ghasemi, Saleh Mohammadi and Saeed Davoudi – were executed on Thursday after being accused of killing two police officers during unrest in January, according to the judiciary-linked Mizan news agency.
Mohammadi, a national-level wrestler who had competed internationally, denied the charges in court and said his confession had been obtained under torture, according to accounts from those close to him. Members of Iran’s wrestling community had also defended him, saying he had no history of violence.
Mohammadi had represented Iran in international wrestling events, including the 2024 Saitiev Cup in Russia, where he won a bronze medal.
His execution has drawn comparisons to wrestler Navid Afkari, whose case became a symbol of the use of capital punishment following protests.
Afkari was sentenced to death and executed in Shiraz after being accused and convicted of murdering a security guard during the 2018 Iranian protests.

A growing list of athletes, coaches and referees remain detained, many linked to the recent wave of protests as well as earlier unrest.
Among those named are footballer Mohammad Hossein Hosseini, water polo goalkeeper Ali Pishevarzadeh, marathon runner Niloufar Pas, kickboxing champion Benjamin Naghdi, teenager footballer Abolfazl Dokht, and boxer Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani.

Hell, Trump is threatening to bring treason charges against reporters who ask him unflattering questions. The Mullahs must be afraid of the people rising up. They have been holding some of these prisoners since January. There's no other reason to put these show trials on, and hangings, other than to keep fear among the people.

They had two milestones. First was when we detected the seismic evidence they were testing their nukes. Second was when they put a test satellite 🛰️ into orbit. Make sense? The satellite wasn’t meant to provide anything except send radio telemetry and prove they could put a payload into space the weight of their warhead. That is when you know nation has the power to nuke us.
If Iran was “testing” satellite launches, something they can claim has civilian uses, and then we detected suspicious rumblings in their mountains, we might have a case. But just because Bibi said so was not a good reason.
