What the hell is happening with Brandon lately
Normal Rankin Behavior lol
When you drop down to 14 police officers, a Chief, and Deputy Chief, this is what happens. They have gotten their numbers closer to 30 but they are still undermanned compared to other towns of similar size. It will take a while to recover from the tenure of Dearman and Pack.
Save Brandon
What the hell did they do? They get surprised trying to jack a car or something and just start spraying lead?
From what I have read recently, the police officers are the problem, not the solution.
Brandon should have elected Bo Luckey as mayor. The BPD exodus would not have occurred, and this BS wouldn’t be an issue. Hope these two losers break into the wrong house and get met by some 2A strapped war veteran.
Unfortunately, this has become all too common in the metro suburbs. Society has passively accepted it, it seems. But make no mistake about it, these are little terrorist.
Every morning, the mayor of Brandon looks in the mirror and sees first hand, the problem with the City of Brandon.
Probably some gang initation ritual. Shoot into a family home
Make Brandon Safe Again.
Problem with Brandon is the mayor and city alderman. Institutional incompetence has ripple effects.
Butch Lee and the one who actually runs the show and pulls the strings, Lou Coker. That's where the finger pointing needs to be. More concerned with making Brandon a business than the great place it actually is, or was. Should have elected Bo like the poster above said when Butch was running to get elected for his high 4. Maybe the mouthbreathers on Facebook who carry his water have a solution. Lance, talking to you. You helped hire Peavey to run his campaign to beat Bo, not sure what the angle was, but you get what you got.
Let's Go Brandon!
I agree with 12:54. A Chief of Police can not do his job when the Mayor and Alderman tell him what he can do and not do. I voted for Bo Luckey and will continue to vote against the administration.
Google "City of Brandon Mississippi". The return states, "2nd Safest City in Mississippi." I shit you not.
Owner of that home is Tang Hamilton, played bball at Lanier High & Mississippi State. Short stint in NBA (Miami Heat) before playing decade in South America. Wonder why they targeted his home?
@ 2:15 - They targeted that house because he's an example of what they resent.
Most failures resent the successful. If these hoodlums owned a car, they would have settled for trashing his mailbox.
2:15 & 4:41…. Hamilton owns the house but he doesn’t and hasn’t lived there. He’s been renting it out since he built it. His sister lives there with her son. Apparently some of her son’s acquaintances needed to get in touch with him last night.
Thanks, 5:12, for that beautifully-phrased explanation of what happened!
It reminds me of that golden moment in 'Shawn of the Dead', when Shawn's mother calmly states, over the phone, "Some men came to the door. They were rather bitey."
The criminal element has moved to ALL of the suburbs surrounding Jackson. As a result more and more people are moving further north in Madison County, east towards Carthage and south towards Mendenhall. Policing helps some but only delays the inevitable. Until there is a change in culture these types of crimes will continue. Madison, Ridgeland, Brandon, Flowood, etc., are not what they once were.
I have been house hunting for the last year and I am surprised by what I have seen.
this is funny as shit until it happens in your subdivision, laugh now and don't tell me to calm down, and my name isn't Francis.
It’s cultural. I feel bad for the decent people who just saw their property values drop.
Those dude were bookin' it at the end!
12:13, I agree with your hope, to wit: “ Hope these two losers break into the wrong house and get met by some 2A strapped war veteran.” I would like to point out though, that it does not take a military veteran to dispose of home invaders and other ne’er-do-wells”. In fact, many veterans are only trained to a minimum level of competency with firearms. A large number of thugs have been disposed of by elderly women, children, handicapped people, and other weaker members of society. “God created Man, but Sam Colt made them equal”. Or something to that effect.
Most of these thugs are hardly competent with firearms. Practice and train a little and you will be their superior. You may still get shot but your odds are better. Decent folks fighting back and destroying the trash is the only way these problems will be fixed, short of a dictator with methods like those of the president of El Salvador. It may come to that one of these days.
What’s going on between mayor and police in Brandon? Are the police unhappy with the mayor?
Hey, 12:54 anonymous big boy. I supported Butch and have absolutely no regrets. I also love Bo Luckey and he runs the Capitol police like a boss.
I don’t support candidates based on a popularity contest. I support them based upon anticipated results and Brandon is on a 10 year steep ascension. I was right. When you call somebody out, have the guts to use your name, coward.
12:54 is correct…The mass exodus of BPD falls on Butch Lee & city alderman. Less cops equals more crime. This administration has done a good job with new sidewalks, gas stations & fast food joints.
