2:1 Guest to Cassidy with half the precincts reporting

Anonymous said...

No show Palazzo is not doing so well.

Cassidy is a rookie who got caught with some socialist cra on his website and blew his chances after doing well in the primary.

Guest had the money behind him to do a negative campaign, just like many RINOs, with little or no mention of his accomplishments.

MS will continue to stay last in good things and first in bad things.

Looks like BT is going to pay MG back for his Jan6. support by getting MG the votes needs via HiCo to pull ahead. The good ole Dem playbook!

Anonymous said...

Who is no show?

Anonymous said...

I don’t know anything about Guest or Cassidy but the non-stop radio ads tell me Cassidy is a RINO.

Looks like the Mitt Romney/Liz Cheney wing of the GOP is winning is District 3. II Corinthians 4:4

Anonymous said...

I voted for a guy named Michael

Anonymous said...

A win by Guest doesn't negate his status as a zero.

Anonymous said...

Either way, Mississippi loses. Best and brightest leave, and we’re left with the dummies that don’t (including myself).

Kingfish said...

The "socialist" stuff. When I heard about it and then read it, here is what I thought. It sounded like something someone says when you are sitting around drinking with a couple of buddies, solving the world's problems. Ideas are spitballed without actually putting them to pen and paper. We've all done it. Except he put them on his website. I'm pretty sure if he sat down and calculated them, he would probably have backed off of them but he did put them on his website and the other side took full advantage of it as it should have done.

Guest sent my now 19 years deceased mother direct mail touting his pro-life bona fides. He was that desperate. Thing is, my mother never lived at this address at any time in her life.

Chuckles said...

Looks like we are stuck with RINO Guest for another four years. And the only way we will be rid of Bennie is via the undertaker.

Anonymous said...

@8:33 PM That would be another 2-years, not 4-years.

KF @8:25 PM - I agree, he didn't think that through, and Guest was desperate and found that dirt to use in his 99% negative campaign.

Four more yearsof RINO Guest!

Anonymous said...

Guest is proof that the object of being in Congress is to represent yourself, raise money for yourself, and slander anyone who dares to oppose you.

Anonymous said...

A bit off topic here, forgive me. I enjoy this blog and particularly the comments from readers, but I don’t understand the constant comments about how bad Mississippi is. We’re first in bad things, last in good things, etc. If these posters live here, why not move? If they don’t, why are they so interested in what happens here? Baffling. I grew up here, went to Texas for six years. I came back because I love Mississippi and it is home. I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking. I also enjoy meeting nice, grounded, usually Christian people. I don’t miss miles of concrete and spending an hour and fifteen minutes driving 20 miles to work. Call me crazy, but I’ll be here the rest of my life.

Anonymous said...

I'd rather have Medicare for All than send $40 billion to Ukraine. Too bad Mississippi has no representatives like Matt Gaetz or Marjorie Taylor Greene. Voting in Mississippi is a waste of time if you reject the Deep State line.

Anonymous said...

Michael Guest on ethical campaigning.

Ethics? I ain't got no ethics.
I don't need no ethics.
I don't have to show you no stinking ethics.

Anonymous said...

@Chuckles Guest will be appointed to Wicker's senate position when he retires prior to his term ending in 2024. I say give it a year. Either way the snake slithers back to the swamp.

Anonymous said...

Blech

Anonymous said...

Disappointing but not unsurprising. Two more years of RINO.

Anonymous said...

@8:46 PM Not to worry because some of that $40 billion is being laundered through Joe's kid. Remember he has ties to Ukraine? The Biden family are due their commissions, along with some Congress critters.

Much of it will be used to pay into the U.S. military industrial complex, and like LBJ, many pols in WDC hold stock in those companies.

Anonymous said...

Good riddance to Palazzo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous said...

Guest works for planned parenthood and the dems.
This was predicted day 1 of his 1st term.
He's turned into another Hyde Wicker. Bought rinos
MS wants that apparently as you keep voting for it

Anonymous said...

Guest is a dirty bas****

Got upstaged on the 7th and spent on dirty/dishonest ads like his life depended on it in the runoff - and the sheep ate it up.

I’d ask if that’s who you really want representing you?? But apparently the sheep do.

Anonymous said...

Wonder how many months it'll take for Palazzo to check into his DC office and discover he didn't win?

Anonymous said...

Serious question here. Who gives the orders to the GOP delegation? Is it Haley Barbour? Wicker, Guest et al are not beholding to the people.

Who do these guys answer to?

Anonymous said...

In the words of our late Guv Kirk Fordice ... Cassidy, Palazzo and Eller just experienced an "ass whooping".

Anonymous said...

A bit off topic, but. . .

This happened at my polling place around 10:30 this morning. Corner Old Canton Rd. and Madison Avenue.

I had just finished voting and on the way out there was a young woman in a green dress. As I passed I heard her say to one of the poll workers: "I am with WJTV and we were wondering if we could come inside to get some footage?" Of course the poll worker replied that that was not allowed. The young woman was not displaying any press credentials or any identification at all. When I got out to the parking lot I looked around pretty carefully and saw no WJTV or labeled press vehicle.

I thought to myself what is going on here? Any real reporter would know that photography inside the polling place is prohibited. I am trying to mind my manners and call the young woman a "reporter" rather than a "TV personality." (I did not recognize her at all).

What kind of scam was this or was it just amateur hour? Did anyone else witness a similar interaction?

I have been over most of this world. Have lived here most of my life and altho we have problems, I'd rather live here than anywhere else. Tho Guest has not burned the world with doing a lot, I'd still trust him better than a LOT of others when it comes to helping run this country. I've never met him, but he is the kind of man that I would trust if I needed help. No, I'm not part of the Rankin County Mafia.

I’m remember when the term “RINO” was coined. It was applied differently back then. Apparently nowadays it applies to any Republican that isn’t a Trump humper. That shit heel will be the undoing of the GOP.

Anonymous said...

We really vote for Guest the same way they vote for LaDumba.
Nobody cares what actions these elite untouchables take. Just keep towing the party line.
We really do get the government we deserve.

KaptKangaroo said...

So Rex, you think Guest is NOT a RINO? I would assume you know the entire Russia, Russia, Russia has been completely unraveled?

If not, I would expect a whole hell of a lot of inquiry before I ever cast a vote for impeachment, be damned your Orange man bad syndrome.

Anonymous said...

The problem is that all of you folks calling Guest a RINO seem to think you own the party's ideology. You don't. The majority do and we have spoken. If your puritanical approach to politics can't abide, then kindly see yourself out. Democracy is about compromise.

819, maybe you need to study the district and the actual precinct results a little more before you spout off your bullshit commentary. First, where are those votes that BT is supposed to be getting MG? Second, what are the precinct results that can back up your bullshit commentary?

For anybody that actually knows how to read election results it is more than clear that there is no basis for your bullshit claim. Next, you ought to compare the precinct results of today's election to that of June 7th - and then try to find some kind of basis for your crap. It aint there.

Next time, stay home, eat your cheetos, and get in line for your fake 'medical' weed license.

Anonymous said...

8:44 -- Dirt? Hell, he put it out as his platform. How is repeating what your opponent has claimed to be his position dirt?

I always thought political dirt was trying to take some comment and twist it to a different interpretation; or making up something (kinda like the Macawca moment for the Senator from Virginia some decade ago).

But taking the exact words off of your opponents website and exposing them to the electorate is not dirt.

And KF - your thought that he never thought them through doesn't wash when you listen to Cassiday's answer. He was courting the American Family Radio crowd (those idiots up in Tupelo that sell their endorsements). Cassiday thought this was a way to build strong families, which is what they tout regularly. He didn't care about the costs, he wanted their support through the AFA radio network.

Anonymous said...

9:45 - photography is allowed in a voting precinct. Don't know where you studied election law, but haven't you ever seen all the elected politicans 'casting their vote' - most often with their spouse by their side - at their polling place on election day?

Yes, the media can come inside a polling place and shoot film. If a voter objects to being filmed while voting, there are restrictions but generally based on the same rules that those doing the photography would do in other situations.

It would have been appropriate for the poll worker to ask for credentials, which according to your report was not done. But since your analysis of the situation was wrong, don't know whether to totally accept your reporting of the situation.

Overall, though - as has been said before about other issues - at this point, what difference does it make? The reporter probably went to another precinct where they were let in, shot some footage that may or may not have made it through the cutting room and actually been shown as background behind one of our local talking heads.

I’m guessing there are hard questions being asked in the Guest camp by Friday. His family and inner circle are probably going to be looking at how much they’ve paid Frontier strategies and what did they get for their money. Doubling your vote count in a primary runoff (and that’s not Thompson area votes for all you kooks) is candidate strength alone. Guest has a personal network that runs deeper than any other elected official in this State. Seriously who else can work phones and bring out an additional 5-6k voters in less than 3 weeks.

Anonymous said...

Seriously who else can work phones and bring out an additional 5-6k voters in less than 3 weeks.

Uh, basically some charter bus loads of Mules, and a shit load of ballot stuffing.

Guest owes more than Frontier. Now he owes Benny, Chuck, and Nancy.

Expect a lot more bipartisanship going forward.

Anonymous said...

You people are literally MAGA cultists. Guest is a Trump loyalist through and through. I mean, he voted against certifying the election. But he votes in favor of finding out what happened on Jan. 6 and you all lose your minds over that? Afraid of the truth much?

Oh, you people also probably think the election was stolen, because your orange god (or was it Q?) told you so. Guess what - people who can't use logic and reason like YOU are the reason Mississippi is dead last.

Anonymous said...

@8:07am - You’re wasting your time arguing with these stable geniuses.

Anonymous said...

I hope the Guest cheerleaders are right.
He seems to be a God in their eyes so surely he will impress all rational Republicans in the next few years.

If he is as good as they say he is, then his actions will demonstrate that and I will have no problem supporting him going forward.

And if his performance is abysmal, I am sure they will have no issue admitting that he is in fact not our guy in the next election.

Just kidding. The Rankin GOP will continue to tell us exactly who the next prince in line for the throne is and we will be good little peasants and respect our overlords.

As a merc voter, I voted for Guest. If he's a RINO then I am pleased with these results, suffer.

Anonymous said...

In one year Guest's district will turn blue, which will turn MS blue, thanks to the RINO voters.

Anonymous said...

Cassidy ran on the January 6th Commission vote and almost pulled off a primary victory.
Guest didn’t take primary seriously and he almost paid for it.
Cassidy ran on the America First Platform, but had no ideas to show for it. Some of his ideas were very radical and would
make Sanders smile. A quick search of his website would find this. You can run as a MAGA candidate, but good luck winning with Medicare for all and 20k wedding gifts.

Anonymous said...

Guest is Bennie’s “boy” now.
Oh how the times have changed!
I hope Bennie calls him “boy” too!

Anonymous said...

I personally sent a message to Cassidy asking about his stance on the Yazoo Pump Project based on the fact Cassidy's mother worked for the Sierra Club(the environmental group that worked so hard to get it shut down) for 16 years and how that would affect his stance if it came to a vote. I explained that I realized the location was not in his district, but a lot of his constituents owned property in the area the flooding affects. Cassidy replied "Check out my platform on energy independence and expanding oil drilling..." whiskey tango foxtrot? That has nothing remotely close to do with it. Dude is clueless as to the state of Mississippi and it's affairs. He then went on to call a member of Michael's staff a liar and a fraud. A guy I have the utmost respect for and has served the state of Mississippi in a law enforcement capacity for years. Cassidy just wanted to win, he doesn't care about Mississippi at all. He said all the right things to make the Trump ring kissers get all excited. His whole campaign is about twisting facts and outright lying just to win the election. He was planted here by someone else, you can bank on it.

Did anyone catch the clip last night where the news was trying to interview him and he said "you can bounce out of here"...talk about weak. Guest is not the person the Cassidy and the uninformed make him out to be. Trust me.

Anonymous said...

McDanielites can take a breather. The cycle will take at least five years minimum before you can skip another kook on the ballot. But nice try again.

Krusatyr said...

In this campaign and vote, Guest learned two lessons: Don't vote against Conservatives and avoid Pallazo's sloppy mistakes. We'll see an improved Guest but he'll never be baptized in Reagan/Trump blood sufficiently to be trusted.

Anonymous said...

Are the Guess supporters destined to become like Biden supporters? You got what you want, but will you want what you got?

Anonymous said...

10:25am Bingo!! Look at the people’s social media who supported Cassidy. They think Chris McDaniels is the second coming. How many times do y’all have to lose before you realize yours is the minority opinion?

Anonymous said...

@10:25–you’re spot on!!!Krusatyr—-I thought you nut jobs called Reagan a RINO.If he was and Guest is one so am I.

Anonymous said...

12:30 said that American Family Radio sells their endorsement and praised Cassidy. 12:30 called them idiots. If they sold to Cassidy they must be idiots. Cassidy's campaign had no money while the Guest campaign was flush with cash.

Sounds to me like 12:30 is the idiot.

Anonymous said...

Guest should be ashamed. The dishonest lowbrow trash he put out in the mail and on TV attacking Serviceman Michael Cassidy was disgusting.

I received about a dozen cartoonish completely false and deceitful smear pieces in the mail.

He further revealed his true character.

"You will know them by their fruits".

I will vote against him the the general.

Anonymous said...

You people need to stop with the Guest being a RINO thing.
In fact stop ALL the RINO talk. I know what a Republican is and it is not you people! Guest is almost 100% with your freak former Pres. Trump.

Anonymous said...

To all of you people comparing Cassidy to McDaniel. Wasn’t it confirmed that Democrat voters were used to overwhelm opposition voters back then too? You aren’t really helping Guest by reminding everyone that the establishment MSGOP will pull out all the stops and even call in favors from the DNC, to suppress party dissent!

Anonymous said...

I like how the mailers were all lies yet had Cassidy's own words/platform on them!! You are probably one who got worked up over the word "rino" which is the political n-word, it means nothing, and failed to read Cassidy's ridiculous platform?! This whole "you cant criticize Cassidy because he is the Navy" is bs, he isn't a war hero he is a civilian contractor! Hell Michael was at least locking bad guys up for 20 years prior to being in DC. Be interesting to see what the Navy does to him now that the election is over, or if you are mpvr no worries because he really didn't get grounded. Bottom line Cassidy drew first blood, Guest then fought back.

Anonymous said...

"I know what a Republican is" yeah, Barry Goldwater.

2:25, he doesn't need our help. But keep typing.

This state just dodged a bullet. A hyper embarrassing bullet.

I can hear the Cassidy supporters now "the election was rigged. Let's storm the Secretary of State's office to make sure he doesn't certify the election (bring the zip ties!)...find 23,000 votes!!!".

You people lost y'alls damn minds.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
