I think the suggestion is fair that you care more about the child before it's born than after.

Every child is born innocent. Every child is born with a chance. You don't want to do anything to make sure they live a life of hope and promise. And, when they are left to the streets, you are outraged that they turn out badly!

You blame the result instead of the cause.

And, here's a news flash. Slavery created a matriarchal society in the black community where the male role had no role in the family other than to create children. He didn't provide for his family or have authority in his family. He had no role in caring for the children he created. Bonding wasn't encouraged. The babies were new property and many slaves were bred like dogs or horses for physical traits. You don't want to help those in the black community who want to create new cultural roles for the males because you didn't own slaves and you don't want to pony up to fix it.

And, after emancipation,there was no effort to break the patterns created. Those blacks who tried were considered " uppity" in the South and you know what whites who tried were called...communists or worse.

And, while the next generations of males where doing hard labor most of the time, and the women were cleaning houses, who do you think was nuturing the children? Older children and grandmas too frail to work anymore. So things got worse instead of better, but you could find the exceptions and overlook why they were exceptions so you could turn a blind eye to what was happening in the black communities.

And, the real irony is that the result of failing to encourage a new functional culture to flourish in the black community through education and opportunity for generations, is that the dysfunction spread like a contagion throughout society.

And, because you place so much value on cells in the womb and don't want females to learn how to keep from getting pregnant either, single mothers in the white community are now more common. And, suddenly, that's fine...it's all about the baby, not what kind of life the baby will have!

If you create the cultural dysfunction with your inattention and attitudes, you have a lot of nerve to complain about it later.

For 1:10 and 8:39, I have a compromise. I will move away from my rigid, inflexible pro-life stance. How does this sound?

Henceforth, if a woman is on one form of public assitance and pregnant; and if the child's delivery will be paid for by the government, then upon said delivery, the woman is sterilized.

Furthermore, if the child delivered is male, he will be rendered a eunuch upon birth. Castrated.

Please expound on the last 50 years, not 150 years ago. How do you explain that 100 years after slavery, it was 80% born in wedlock, but after a mere 50 years of slaving away for the democrats and free cheese, it has dropped to 25%? Oh wait, that would take honesty.
