The Madison Board of Alderman unanimously passed a resolution last night calling for the resignation of District 2 Supervisor Tim Johnson. The resolution states:

WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Madison residing in District 2 have a right to expect active and vigorous representation regarding the use of County funds and the fair allocation of public benefit resulting from such expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the actions and lack of action by District 2 Supervisor Tim Johnson have caused public concern regarding the quality of representation the citizens of District 2 in the City have received; and
WHEREAS, such actions include but are not limited to:

(C)Supporting payment of engineering fees for study, design and redesign of projects which are not practically or financially feasible;
(D)Public misrepresentation to citizens and municipal officials regarding the use of proceeds from a fifty million dollar bond issue in an effort to generate support for such issue, then supporting the use of such proceeds in a manner contrary to his earlier assurances;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF THE CITY OF MADISON, MISSISSIPPI that the City of Madison, Mississippi, does hereby call upon Madison County District 2 Supervisor Tim Johnson to resign from his post in order to allow the citizens of District 2, and specifically those citizens residing in the City of Madison, to elect a supervisor who will vigorously support the interests of District 2
."

I really miss the old tar and feather days.

What is Queen Mary's call on all of this? Previously, she seemed thick as thieves with Johnson, Warnock, Butch Brown, et. al. Has she expressed an opinion about the city Board's resolution? Has she changed her association with that group?

If this ALSO becomes a Mary vs. Madison Board of Alderman battle, then I gotta go buy some popcorn and settle in.

Looks like Elvis fell out of Mary's good graces...

Kingfish said...

Can't say I blame them. I remember when they snuck through the tax increase and he whined about the criticism he was getting from his constituents.

9:14 - Tim and Mary had a falling out a long time ago when he decided not to wouldn't bow to her every command. Believe me, she is behind this resolution.

Kingfish said...

So what if she is? I think he has done enough to be thrown out of office either through resignation or at the ballot box.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Mary will recruit Rudy Warnock to run against him ....

Anonymous said...

Can't he be prosecuted for these things?

Anonymous said...

I think it is best left to the voters to decide.

Anonymous said...

I can't stand her but want him gone even more.

Anonymous said...

I think all the Board of Supervisors are at fault for doing a bait and switch on the road money. We were all told it was for certain projects...and now they have decided to spend it differently. It should be spent on the orginal projects or refunded to the taxpayers.

Kingfish said...

Actually its quite clear what is going on here. Tim Johnson is being pushed out because he favors Two Lakes and opposes the Levee Plan. As the Levee Plan would be a great thing for madison, the establishment has risen against him.

Paul Mitchell said...

Kingfish, at first blush your comment seemed crazy. After ten seconds to consider it, not so crazy.

Anonymous said...

what are they going to do with Carl Banks.

Anonymous said...

Can they do this? I have never....What is Tim saying about this? Is this even legal; I am sure it is "Mary Mother of God" has spoken!!!

Anonymous said...

1:26 Where do you see that? I checked the properties for this document and it was blank under "author" and the other entries on that screen.

Anonymous said...

1:26, there's no way to tell what computer the document KF linked to was created on because it's a scan. Document properties, including the author, wouldn't show up in a scan, they would only be accessible in the original file or a version of the origial file. And this image wasn't converted to .pdf out of Word, either -- the signatures wouldn't show up.

Have you seen a different file than what is linked? If so, please post.

It would be a very good thing for Madison County to get both Tim and Mary out of office!

Anonymous said...

Tim surely seems to be a shit magnet. Seems everything he does is contoversial.

I spoke to the attorney in question and he had nothing to do with it. Its an older computer that wound up with a former employee. Was an older mac and he was the geek of the firm so he installed word programs on it way back when and it was under his license. He's had his hands too full with Evans stuff the last few days to fool with Madison County politics. I'm now zapping every post with his name in them because there is no reason for them to stand.

Just saw Mary on the TV. Not impressed. Seems bitter. Or is it just me?

F'ing cover up city Kingfish. Bullshit.

Kingfish said...

Huh?

Anonymous said...

Looks like Mother Mary is not getting her way and she's mad.

Kingfish said...

I don't guess it bothers anyone you got taken on a huge bond issue, got nothing out of it, and Rudi walked away with millions in fees.

Anonymous said...

You are so right on Kingfish. Then they tried to get District 5 all rattled over black and white to divert the attention meanwhile Rudy is getting away with millions. I saw straight throw the cherry red lips and the punk hair.

Just think the road to no where also known as Calhoun Station and wonder who all the landowners are? Don't forget this is where the dollars are going.. But they killed the Reunion Interchange is that because they did not want to buy any land on the North Parkway or the Galleria Parkway because they would have to pay the PID tax themselves instead of getting the taxpayers to pay for it. Oops I forget that our elected officials don't make alot of salary it is just the perks of having inside info and how they can forsee where the growth will be for themselves. It is all about what the taxpayer can pay.....

Zapped it because you deliberately mistated some facts. The attorney in question handled the computers himself. Pay attention. I said that. The firm split and the computers were split up as well. He had installed MS office and word on all the computers. Now as literate as you appear to be, I'm sure you are aware that for a business you buy MS Office with the ability to load it on several computers with one license. That should be an older edition of word that was used. It was not the attorney you accuse.

He is also working on the Evans case. I know what has been going on in that case in and out of court and I very seriously doubt he has had much time to do anything else outside of that case. if you don't believe me, go look at pacer instead of trying to falsely accuse me and others.

Kingfish said...

I'm going to keep zapping you as the attorney in question had nothing to do with it. Period.

Anonymous said...

What? Based on his word? LMAO You've played your hand here and it isn't a winner.

Anonymous said...

Let's see Kingfish. You posted this original story with the link to the MS Word document at 8:30 AM. What time was it when you received that second file, the PDF with the signatures?

Anonymous said...

The colleagues of the "attorney in question" whose name you don't want mentioned are known entities. Let's see if they'll claim ownership of this older Mac. Odd how the "attorney in question" has told you exactly that one of these older Macs, even though he doesn't possess it any longer, is the computer on which the witch hunt for Tim Johnson was put to words.

Keep diggin' pal. Your transparency reputation, well earned, is taking major broadsides.

Why is Mr. Jerk worrying about an attorney drawing up the paper when there is so much here. More like engineering fees, really more like just giving out blank checks signed by the taxpayers, hey lets play bingo. Hey who went to the Super Bowl, engineering can also be fun too with alot of time to Colts.

The fire is behind the smoke that Kingfish is blowing.

Kingfish said...

Is this the best you can do? You can't disagree with the issues of tax increases, bond abuse, and other controversies so your best hope is to try and attack the drafter? Does it really matter WHO actually drafted it? I don't like every resolution the Jackson city council drafts but I don't wonder who actually drafted them.

Let me see, there was a huge Evans hearing Friday. Motion to quash by Charles hearing this week. I also know about conferences and meeting that have taken place, not to mention the court issued its order yesterday and there have been more documents filed as well. I SERIOUSLY doubt he had any time to draft such a resolution. I have a pretty good idea who did and I think if you dig further, you would probably agree with my suspicions.

Anonymous said...

Great dodge Kingfish.

Does it really matter WHO actually drafted it?

On a witch hunt you're damn well right it matters. The resolution isn't about the issues, it is about politics and you're intellectually dishonest to pretend otherwise.

Anonymous said...

Who gives a shit? This is supposed to be a blog about Tim Johnson, not some Mickey Mouse cat and mouse game.

Kingfish said...

Witch hunt? ok. Have it your way. Everyone here is out to get Tim Johnson. Got it. And I'm a bald-faced liar. I've had people like you show up here before calling me dishonest and when time passed, it turns out they were the ones being dishonest instead.

Tell you what, if you want to accuse the attorney in question of drafting it, do it under your REAL NAME so he can take appropriate action against you if he so desires.

I do believe that someone has a nasty attitude and is not being a team player. Cam we not do a better impersonation? Let's go up north of the city and see where the most fires are really!!!!

Back to Tim Johnson and Mary Hawkins.... If anyone here needs to resign, it is the mayor. She does absolutely nothing, 24/7, but try to destroy innocent people's lives. Instead, she should try to get new business into Madison to increase her tax base. Right now, Ridgeland and Rankin County are kicking her butt!! What has happened to the Target that was suppose to be there a year ago??? If she would bring in more retail and restuarants, maybe she could give herself a raise and she could go to a decent hair salon and get those horrible roots taken care of. Oh and by the way, she'll have to go to Ridgeland or Jackson. There are none in Madison.

Anonymous said...

@ 5:33 a.m. "Destroy innocent people lives"not hardly innocent. You have a President of the Board who controls the Majority of the votes and play's the race card with the 2 black supervisor if someone(who would have to be white) questions their reasons for voting with Johnson & Company(he is being controlled behind the scenes). Then you have the Bingo scandal were they are trying to send a innocent Mother of 2 to jail because she informed the authorities of their wrong doings. By the way, the black people in North Madison County was told they were getting tennis courts, walking trails, and new community center from that bond and Mary was trying to take it from them. Which was a lie to hundreds of people. Because road money is just that road money. Are we still talking about innocent people:":: I think NOT!!!

concerned taxpayer said...

I live in Madison and have watched these relationships for years. I understand where Mayor Mary is coming from, but don't always agree with her. On this subject. The bond money was for work to be done in a specific area of the county. Once MDOT required transparancy in the selection of the contractor / engineers, The BOS , 3 of them at least, refused. My questions are these: Why do they refuse to be a transparent govenment? Why do they continually use the same engineer? Aren't there other options? and lastly, why act like a child and take these tax dollars elsewhere, where there is less poplulation and taxdollar revenue? Should the Businesses and Homeowners that bear the brunt of the taxes not recieve much of the reward? It is our money, for goodness sake.

Anonymous said...

What time was it when you received that second file, the PDF with the signatures?

Anonymous said...

@ concerned Taxpayer:I agree with you but you have to understand you are in Madison County and their are people that shop and eat in Madison that also live in the County and pay modest amounts in taxes as well. Granted they are behind in growth but when Madison is out growing everything around them, If you don't reach back and grab some of the others you will run the risk of looking selfish, not loving your neighbor as yourself and therefore you gain nothing.

Anonymous said...

I have a question, I am not from Madison and not familiar with area politics but: If these two are so unpopular why are they re-elected?

Anonymous said...

for the same reason Ted Kennedy was reelected over and over. inertia

Anonymous said...

Mary is NOT unpopular. she is AWESOME.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish obviously THINKS so TOO!!!

Anonymous said...

Wow, the last year or so it has been bashing Dick Hall. But nothing has been said about him in all latest fighting. I think it is time Dick Hall comes out and tells them all how it is going to be and that since now it has been shown that the supes of Madison can not be trusted ethically nor are they experienced in design/build of interchanges they just sign the taxoayers name to blank checks to Rudy. Can't the state come in and seize the bond money and build the interchange the way it should have been done from the get go.

Anonymous said...

Mary's gaming on this one isn't receiving a rousing applause here in Madison. She does many things right but these attacks she launches garner less support each time she does it.

Kingfish said...

I am?

Dick Hall is something else. He always seems to have an excuse for EVERYTHING. He and former PRVD ED Griffin are just alike in that respect. Always seems like he is reacting to a problem ten years after it needed a solution. I mean, up in Madison, they probably DO need another interchange but he was of the mindset they'll study if for a few years and in ten years they might get one. You know, you drive to ATL and what do you see? a bunch of interstate lanes when you cross the state line. we all know the growth is going to Canton and the traffic will only get worse but do we take any steps in foresight of this? Nope. Instead we will wait til it becomes a nightmare and THEN commission a study.

Full disclosure: In the poll, I voted for the Two Lakes Conspiracy option.

KaptKangaroo said...

First I voted for Two Lakes Conspiracy option a few times.

Also, went to McDades today and got short ribs. I asked the gal to cut them 3-4 inches and thick. AWESOME! And $2 less per pound ($3.99)than Fresh Market. For cooking, will smoke them on Green Egg with Hickory for 4-5 hours then serve with Emeril's BBQ sauce. Heaven, pure Heaven. Two thumbs up for McDades, meat was even fresher than what was at FM, and the cuts at fresh market were less than half of what I got at McDades. I'm a new customer now.

Anonymous said...

I am betting Dick Hall will have a lot to say now that the cat is out of the bag. Remember when Rudy ran against him. People tend to forget what happen in Neshoba County but an elephant never forget.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
