A mass of Palestinian and Hamas supporters agitated Tulane Jewish students last Thursday. Tulane was a target as the student population is 44% Jewish. Just watch the videos posted below.
The university issued the following statement.
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
The ordeal occurred during a Thursday afternoon rally held just off the Tulane campus. The New Orleans-based university is home to a substantial Jewish population, which has in recent weeks held pro-Israel marches without incident. In the buildup to the Thursday clash, however, a newly-formed Instagram account called "Tulane Students For Palestine" posted a statement condemning "Tulane's endorsement of Zionism and Israeli apartheid" and accusing Israel of "genocide." That group organized the Thursday rally and called upon the general "New Orleans community" to attend, according to the Tulane student, who spoke to the Free Beacon anonymously out of fear of being targeted.
The student said the protest was disrupted by an "orange truck that continued to drive by."
"By the sixth or seventh drive, the guy stopped in the middle of the road," the student said. "Two kids were in the back of the truck—high schoolers, maybe." One used a keffiyeh to conceal his face, while the other "pulled out a lighter" and attempted to burn an Israeli flag. When a pro-Israel demonstrator attempted to "get the flag and bring it back," the student said, the keffiyeh-clad individual "started whacking him with the pole of a Palestinian flag." As the pro-Israel demonstrator staggered back, "two Arab men started beating" him, according to the student, who emphasized that the pro-Israel demonstrator "did not touch the person in the truck." The student said the perpetrators did not appear to be Tulane students. Article
Some commenters say they are against Zionists, not Jews as not all Jews are Zionists. Apparently the distinction was lost on the Tulane rabble

Flag burning is constitutionally protected. Why does the pro-Israel guy get to use force to stop that?
They need to take that shit back to the Middle East.
From the Window to the Wall!!
AOC, Talib and Ilhan say, "Looks good to us."
Hate to see this happening on any college campus. But I am wondering what it is about Tulane University that draws 44% Jewish students. I am surprised at that number and had no idea that's a fact.
44 percent? Really, you think? Since there’s no comment to make that isn’t antisemitic, I’ll not comment further, you’re welcome.
I'm a Tulane alum, law school class of 1984, and am horrified by this. It sounds like the school did adequately respond when notified of the "protest" and hopefully remains vigilant to keep these bigoted rabble rousers off the campus. Yall be careful.
Sure, the distinction was lost. It was a mob, all sides. There is a fine line between freedom of speech to protest in the vaunted “Our Democracy” and tempers flaring. And, no, calm down; this is not another shoah, so don’t let the mainstream media tell you it is.
The Israel Hamas war has led to some really bizarre events here in the US.
Last Saturday thousands of pro-Palestine protestors shut down the Brooklyn Bridge after flooding NYC streets…ALONGSIDE orthodox Jewish members…to condemn Israel's war in Gaza. Pro-Palestine protestors, ALONSIDE orthodox Jewish members.
Mr. crash the market, make a billion doing so then pay less of a tax rate than many working Americans do “Bill Ackman” felt the need this past weekend to tweet that he is in fact pro-Palenstine, but not anti-terrorist.
Room temp IQ redneck white supremacist and likewise BLMers have come together to support the Hamas terrorists.
Politics and bedfellows. Can’t make it up.
Makes you wonder if the far left pro-censorship organization that uses financial terrorism against those that dare disagree with them “ADL” (so-called Anti-Defamation League) is not doing more harm than good.
As long as there was no violence, nor calls for violence, this is perfectly legal. Unless we want to embrace "hate speech" laws, we must tolerate this sort of display.
Muslim behave worse than "rednecks" have ever behaved. Of course, there are well behaved Muslims just as there as well behaved rednecks. But culture can make redneck jokes all day long but breathe a word of criticism of Muslims and the speech police will be after your job.
I'd be willing to bet whoever is responsible for that newly-formed Instagram account has some backing from a larger organization not local to NO.
Islam is a death cult and now they push propaganda onto ignorant rabble.
1:37, I attended Tulane and it is probably 40% or more Jewish. They come down from NYC and Jersey. It’s a backup school for those that didn’t get into an Ivy school. After they graduate, they head back north.
So I'm guessing that being politically incorrect and racist is making a comeback. Should make many happy. Chaos is needed and has it's place during the fall of a society. Order exists within chaos, as chaos exists within order.
I attended Tulane with many jews who were from NOLA. The city has a large Jewish population, and like students everywhere, some attend college in their home state. Tulane was founded as a medical college in 1834 by seven young doctors to fight yellow fever, cholera and other tropical diseases. The medical school is the leading school of tropical medicine in the US to this day. In 1847 the state legislature turned it into a comprehensive public university. The school became a private institution under the endowments of Paul Tulane and Josephine Louise Newcomb, both Jewish, in 1884 and 1887.
Other public universities with significant numbers of Jewish students include the Universities of Florida, Maryland, and Michigan. Private universities include New York University, Brandeis, Yale and Cornell.
I'd like to know to what extent the fundamentalist right wing "Christians" who support Trump are also supporting Hamas and Palestinians against the Jews.
When religion is used as an excuse to harm your neighbor or damage his property rather than to treat him as you wish to be treated, it is a sacrilege. NO holy text in any religion encourages hate or discord.
Instead, those who seek to use religion for personal power, use sentences out of context to inflame their followers. Some have even used passages that are written to warn that bad acts have terrible consequences as does following false prophets.
And,the bottom line always for Muslims and Christians was belief in the ONE GOD as the reason to live together in peace. To Muslims, Jesus and Mohammed are both prophets.
College students and particularly those who wish to spread a religion, ought to know the history of their religion and the origins.
And, for both religions, it's past time that stopped ignoring that the religious texts some want to take literally were written centuries ago when, for example, eating pork was risky and eating fish only on Friday when it was "fresh" off the boats were good advice.
God couldn't expect his prophet to grasp refrigeration and certainly not well enough to explain to others so they'd be safe and Jesus would already know what would and wouldn't be understood. And none of those societies would ever believe that a woman would one day find ways to treat and cure fatal illnesses or fly into space except on a broom (nod to being written on Halloween).
Religion isn't incompatible with science or any modern progress except when men egos use it for ill.
And, for centuries, children celebration Halloween and still became good Christians.
When a religion becomes an " organization of men", bad things can happen.
8:39am: "Order exists within chaos, as chaos exists within order."
Kamala-esque? Order and chaos coexist such that Order is an organizational response to chaotic behavior, whereas chaos is merely a rebellion/insurrection against order.
EG: Is Lil Choke chaotic and disorganized as a rebellion/insurrection against typical Mayoral management responsibilities, which he sees as white colonization to eliminate incompetence, graft and savagery, or is the little mayor just lazy and hateful enough to prefer a third world marxist hierarchy of elites and slavish, impoverished peasants?
But I am wondering what it is about Tulane University that draws 44% Jewish students.
Do you also wonder why JSU is 95+% black?
October 31, 2023 at 9:27 AM, you don't want to know how many left wing Biden supporters are also supporting Hamas and Palestinians against the Jews? So, you're the poster that looks under the bed, and has nightmares about Trump.
October 31, 2023 at 9:33 AM, 8:39 is good, but I don't think they are in the same league as the VP.

Paul Tulane was Catholic and Tulane University was founded in response to fears of smallpox, yellow feaver and cholera. So yes, there is a wonder why Tulane pulls so large a Jewish student body. It's not like Tulane was founded by a Jew explicitly for Jews.
It appears to me most Jewish people I know are liberal and vote Democrat most of the time. Small sample size. However, it’s the conservative Republicans that support Israel the most. I just wonder why this is.
Tulane is primarily a pre-med school. A disproportionate number of Jews are doctors (very strenuous academic requirements).A lot of Jews go to Tulane. My day (1968-1971)
exactly the same thing as now.Very, very few Palestinians.

ZERO. You describe a tiny sliver of Trump voters. But still, the percentage of them who support those groups against Jews, is so low as to be ZERO. What you have described, is best characterized as "statistically nonexistent".
I say that, incidentally, as a JG with a terminal degree from Tulane (and as a grateful recipient, since girlhood, of kindness and tolerance on the part of Christian Fundamentalists).
So yes, there is a wonder why Tulane pulls so large a Jewish student body.
@10:41 AM, quit ducking the question. Why does it matter?
A disproportionate number of Jews are doctors ...
Disproportionate? Seriously? Measured by you? Is there a formal cap on the number that can be doctors? How about dentists? How many Jews are there supposed to be in that field?
9:27, the vast majority of Evangelicals in this country support Israel and reject Hamas. In large part because they believe God’s promises to Israel in Scripture are still valid. While they hope that Jews will accept Jesus as the Messiah, they also believe that Israel is still part of God’s plan. That is from a religious perspective. They also believe as a matter of morality and politics that Israel is an ally and Hamas is evil because their goal is the elimination of Israel and Jews, and is anti-Christian as well. So in answer to your question, very, very few “fundamentalist right wing ‘Christians,’” whatever you think that term actually means, support Hamas and Palestinians against the Jews. That you have to ask the question shows how little you know about the so called “fundamentalists.”
@1:43 PM
You sound like someone with a very guilty conscience.
9:27AM nice try! You’ve either been in a cave somewhere with no news source or like most lefties - have no shame.
Yea, there’s going to be “some” (a very small number “some”) room temp IQ rednecks that voted for Trump and are against Israel, but the left i.e. Democrats pretty much own the vast, vast, vast majority of the pro-Hamas support.
Hell the vast majority of “Christians” are pro-Israel, but can’t begin to tell you why.
College students are idiots.
Instead of Christmas this year, I have donated to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in the name of all of my children and grandchildren! I recommend any Christian who truly loved Israel and the poor Jewish people, to the same. Just go to www.ifcj.org
99% of you pro-palestinian pretenders could not thumbtack the gaza strip on a map even if Israel were circled in red. Much less recite the genesis of the century-old upheaval.
Our world is a powder keg powered by hate, and every fool in the world trying to light the fuse.
