There is little dispute that the whites who fled Jackson rolled up the JPS HS baseball fields and took the fields with them to Madison and Rankin counties.

This is really great. Glad to see someone working to help JPS student athletes.

I hope they do better than that Arena Football team that was planning to put a dome over Smith Wills.

Glad to see that stadium being utilized. I always thought that site would be a good place to build a natatorium like the one in Tupelo but the Jackson water woes kills that idea.

Upcoming line item in JPS budget?

Is this the same Jackson that is asking for $100,000,000.00 for sewer repairs? You have to admire the audacity.

Smith-Wills, fond memories. Some will remember when the Prophet *guaranteed* that Tim Bennett would never get a ballpark built in Pearl. Fast forward 15 years and the deal with the Pearl Braves was just renewed extending through 2031.

Does Belhaven still use Smith Wills? If so, how will HASA affect them?

10:41. I don’t remember any of the JPS schools ever having their own Baseball fields. Forest Hill had a field but it was built before it was a part of JPS. Games were played at Battlefield Park, Lakeland Drive, The old VA area field and occasionally at Smith Wills

Remembering the Big 8 Tournament being held at Levell Woods in South Jackson during the 79 flood. believe it was Wingfield, Hattiesburg, Pascagoula and Greenville.
