Do these folks really think Kasich has a chance going forward? The rest of the country looks a lot different than New Hampshire.

As much as I like kasich. He won't get a third of the turnout trump did.

Let's see how his embrace of Obamacare goes over here in Mississippi. He's hosed the Ohio budget up royally with his Medicaid expansion.

The Ohio connection will be perceived as a positive when the time comes to lock down a VP candidate. Of course, he's trailing trump in Ohio right now.

Yes, he can go forward. The rest of the country may not look like NH, but it also doesn't look like MS. The path gets much different beginning with the March 15th primaries. Right now - Rubio has one tied for 2nd and one 5th in primaries. Kasich has one 2nd and one tied for 4th in primaries. Trump has led every primary but is only hitting his 35% with the highest negative polling. Cruz is the one that might be getting pushed out - his path is blocked by Trump.

Going to be an interesting March. Come back and have the discussion then after a month of a reasonably sized field and multiple primaries throughout the country.

If people who don't want Hillary in the WH start looking to see who can beat her, there's only Kasich that polls show would best her nationwide. Trump, like his antics, only can go so far. November to be exact. If he makes it to November, he'll go back to selling his schtick on tv, and you'll be calling Hillary "Madam President."

John Kasich has zero chance at being the Republican nominee and need not waste his time. He will be a VP pick I think because of Ohio.

Kasich is too far left. Another one of the good ol boys in the Republican Party.

Anonymous said...

10:13, if any republican does not want Hillary to beat them she can't. If a republican running for president cannot come up with enough to beat Hillary they should not have even run in the first place.
Even the democrats do not like Hillary. The media likes her and that is the only thing that keeps her in the race.

Understandable that no one in the Kasich crowd wants to actually talk about his record as Governor in Ohio.

Not a stellar list of endorsements.

Every soul on the stage (and four who are not on stage) remains in the race for one reason only.....hoping to get on the ticket or either be selected for a cabinet position.

Anonymous said...

It isn't costing them anything to stay in the race. Other people are paying the bill. Running for office is a lot more fun that having to go back to work.

Anonymous said...

I bet they have a couple of dozen people show up.

Kasich's event at MC was full of non-voting age high school students to make it look well attended.

Kasich and Carson need to drop out. I know kasich won one primary but but he wont with another and needs to call it a day. Carson is a smart guy but not a president.

Problem with the Republicans is that they get behind people and not the party. Hillary wins this because all the republicans who wanted another canidate will not vote for the republican nominee. I have heard people say that if Trump is nominated they will not vote.

Which primary did Kasich win?

Anonymous said...

Republican Party has brought the problem on itself @5:40 PM. They own whatever is coming their way.

Every time kasich talks about his ground game he brings up MS & Trent Lott. Seriously? I like JK but Trent is AWOL making $ for himself and won't change any minds. Please.

The problem is the people vote for the party instead of the person. If Hillary was another party the democrats would have her in jail.
A few years ago all of the republicans were yelling about Obama not being a natural born citizen now they have one running who we all know is not a natural born citizen.

We need smarter voters. If we had smarter voters they would have not elected the jokers we have had for many years, in both parties.
More people are getting tired of these life long politicians. For some reason many voters think politics is a disease. Just being married to a politician makes another person worth voting for.
We are taking about our country, not herpes.

Before you waste your vote and campaign contribution ...

Republican establishment has a message for John Kasich: get out, and get out of Marco Rubio's way.

This is not what Kasich had in mind: He had hoped that if he could be the last governor standing, his record and experience would persuade party power brokers to unite behind him in a challenge to Trump and Ted Cruz. Pushing that point, Kasich's campaign issued a statement after Jeb Bush dropped out declaring Kasich winner of the "governor's bracket.

I hope it's some fine vittles on the menu for those forking over $500 to dine with this goober. I can understand why moderates want him to be the nominee, but the is zero chance. The establishment has even abandoned him. Henry Barbour held his nose and endorsed Rubio yesterday.

Does anyone really care who endorses a politician?
In most states, not including Ms., people have one vote. A person who endorses a politician has the same number of votes that I have.
Is there really people out there that want a politician telling them which politician to vote for. Next thing you will try to tell me is there are people who want actors to tell them who to vote for.

Chipper Pickering somehow thinks he has coattails.

How'd that Andy Taggart endorsement of Jill Ford work out?

Let's make America great again. We can do unbelievable things. We love the people of X. You won't believe the great deals that we will make. And Mexico will pay for the wall.

The truth shall set you free said...

@8:31 I was born in 87. We used to be somewhat free, but now America sucks. It's a facist regime. At least I got the pleasure to travel the country before the financial collapse turned Hawaii into a homeless charade not to mention other great places. I truly feel sorry for them. I also remember when Jackson was somewhat nice.

And, although I realize the utter calamity the world would be in if we didn't bail out the banks and have loose goosy monetary policy, it is going to be a pain in the ass paying it all off. You really have to wonder how it will be accomplished after a fake recovery butchered by regs. by the ppaca.

But, I have a proposition. Screw the UN. Let's invade Africa, steal their blood diamonds and pay off the debt. *just an idea* 🤔

In short, I'm not ready to give up. And I know Mexico isn't going to pay for a wall- the only thing that will result is a trade war between mehico and 'Merica.

Do you have any ideas? because if you haven't noticed, we are completely fucked and we have to figure out a way to unfuck ourselves.

Playing Seattle peace pussy isn't going to cut it.

I was for Rubio, but now that Henry Barbour is supporting him, I will change to Cruz or Trump.

Anonymous said...

Could someone please tell me one conservative battle that Trump ever engaged in prior to running for president?

Anonymous said...

2:13, is it necessary to engage in a conservative battle before one can run for president? Just looking at hose who are running for president and the past presidents it would look like being a life long politician is all that is needed. Most have never had a real job in their life, living on the govt. dole for all of their lives.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
