The Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith campaign issued the following statement.
"Mississippians turned out in strong numbers yesterday, and the race for U.S. Senate remains extremely close as counting continues. With the vast majority of Election Day ballots reported, the margin is measured in just dozens of votes. We have thousands of outstanding ballots, including affidavit and absentee ballots, which still must be processed and verified under Mississippi law.
Our campaign is closely monitoring the remaining count. We remain confident that when every legally cast vote is fully and accurately counted, Mississippians will have reelected Cindy Hyde-Smith
Cindy is deeply grateful to the hundreds of thousands of Mississippians who cast their ballots supporting strong borders, energy independence, and accountability in government. We thank the election workers and local officials across the state who are working diligently to ensure the integrity of this election."
Kingfish note: Mr. Colom expanded his precarious lead to 65 votes.

Cindy doesn't know what to say unless her handlers prepare it for her.
The only statement Cindy should release is “I am a terrible candidate for the GOP and this is my fault and I’m going home to work the front desk at the local Veterinary Clinic like I was meant to do all along” The MSGOP (Phil Bryant) should be ashamed for forcing her on us. Chris McDaniel would have been the much more exciting candidate, even if he is nuts.
I hope I'm not overreacting but where do we go from here? This was a complete rejection of MAGA. Do we go back to NeoCons like Bush, McCain or Romney? Maybe its nostalgia but I do miss those days a little bit. Going back to the party of tax cuts and running the government like a business vs focusing on social issues.
Someone needs to look into The Way voting precinct off of Northshore in Brandon. Around 7:30 a.m., the scanner was down, voters were instructed to place their ballots into a bin underneath the downed scanner. It wouldn't hurt to verify that those ballots were included in that precinct's count, as there was a large turnout during that time window.
The Republican party really needs to regroup and distance itself from Trump. I voted for him twice because I felt that he was the better candidate, but I can honestly say that I have not been impressed with his second term, and I look forward to someone that is more reasonable in the next election. He hurt this election far worse than most people realized.
@12:53 it was not a complete rejection of MAGA. Trump won in a landslide in 2024 on MAGA. What the people rejected was MIGA. What the people rejected was Israel First. Why? Because Trump proved he really doesn't care about American's... he doesn't care how much Americans are paying for gasoline and food because they have got to KILL the enemies of Israel!
He is relying on shills to hide this. But that is the 100% absolute truth
Please win, Cindy, and resign.
Please, Tate, appoint a qualified senator. Mike Hurst comes to mind… but so do dozens of sharp lawyers and business people. They’re there. Recruit them, GOP.
RMQ
This was about fuel prices and inflation. And that’s as far as many people can think.
Ok RINOs you got what you wanted. When they come for your guns don’t complain you voted for this
NEO cons are RINOs. I would stay home and not vote
Mad about the price of gas??? How much will gas cost when Iran builds a nuke and nukes Israel and Israel nukes them back.
Desantis 2028 or bust.
We have Phil Bryant to thank for Hyde Smith. He always appointed people with about the same IQ as him.
Choke on it, MAGAts. Your cult is imploding.
You rubes finally got what was coming to you. And it’s delicious.
@1:12 PM
Im old enough to remember that when Obama and the democrats had full power , the gun industry flourished with new stuff like BumpFire stocks, Pistol braces, 80% lowers, and forced reset Triggers. The gun industry BOOMED! Then Trump got elected and he started signing executive orders banning stuff starting with bumpfire stocks.
You are a trying to gaslight people.
The entire Mississippi GOP is a bunch of fakes, frauds and dummies. These are the same guys that changed our state flag…even though the citizens had voted to keep the old one. Where has that gotten us?
Bad GOP candidates and worse elected officials have really screwed us. Do-nothing people like Gunn, Harkins and Reeves have f’ed over their constituents.
I don't care for Hyde-Smith but didn't see this coming. She's not very bright and we could do "better", but will the GOP find better candidates?
She was a creation of Phil "Aww Shucks" Bryant and isn't in the same class as Cochran or Wicker. Inflation, Iran, and fuel prices, combined with some truly miserable candidates, cost them big. Will they learn? Not likely.
I read that Hyde-Smith never authored a single bill in the Senate. Is that true?
12:53, it was NOT a rejection of MAGA. It (assuming 'it' was not entirely a matter of fraud) was a rejection of Republicans' USUAL, PRE-MAGA HATEMONGERING THEOCRATIC SCHTICK.
(thump the Bible a little, and hate the right people, and you can get away with being every bit as bad as the Democrats)
In my official state of residence, I gritted my teeth and voted straight-red. If there was a Republican, no matter how much the creature made my stomach turn, I voted for it. But I see the big picture. I know what's at stake.
Every Mississippian I know, made bloody-well-sure they got that little oval beside Cindy's name blacked-in, just-right. They did it, despite not giving a flyin' truck about drag queens or trannys or any of that: either way, they DON'T CARE (they, and I, see it as a distraction from real issues). They're too worried about horrible people from horrible places, flooding into Mississippi, and making it even worse, than to worry about who's-wearing-what, out wherever those people are. They/I voted straight-red, because we know that Republicans are (a bit) better, on the issue of Immigration.
They voted for Cindy, despite detesting her for her position on abortion. They did it, despite their anger and frustration at Mississippi's age verification/social media foolishness, complicating their lives. They did it, despite bitterness over Mississippi's Republican "leadership" behaving mostly like quislings, during the Scamdemic. Nobody will EVER forget or forgive, shutting-down the gyms, while the liquor stores were kept open (and state "leaders" helped get CANNED MIXED DRINKS into hotel rooms, for those forced to quarantine before crossing state lines)(sugar plus booze being a double-whammy immunosuppressant: perfect for making a pandemic WORSE).
They voted straight-Republican, despite state leaders' obvious pandering to powerful out-of-state interests. They did so, despite wondering how all these Republicans managed to do nothing, for years, about the crooked sheriffs in the Delta, and the creatures selling Kratom in gas stations. Last-minute arrests/confiscations only highlighted what's been going on, right under Republican "leaders"'s noses. But they voted straight-red, anyway.
However, plenty of women have had to get abortions. They've had relatives in that position. They've had to slip money to pregnant girls, who're having to go out-of-state They have DAUGHTERS: and thinking-ahead...
And those women have fey brothers. Or they had boys in their classes, at school, who killed themselves after being bullied for not being manly-enough. Those women see only cruelty, when politicians preach hate against those unfortunates.
And, in a state where people are afraid to accept friendship overtures, because experience has taught them that those are merely "love bombs" - tricks to lure somebody into some church - people are sick-to-DEATH of having religion rammed down their throats. The usual RINO/Republican Theocratic Hate Schtick was, apparently... this time... too much.
Most people view Lynn & Cindy & Tate and the other ones, as being interchangeable. So, it's nothing personal, Cindy, but...
Foolishly, they voted-blue. They don't see the big picture.
Every negative comment about republicans falling apart was written 2 years ago when democrats swept out. Its the failure if our goverment as a whole.
Trumps kids are billionaires now. With a B. Does that matter to anyone? I don’t care if anyone else did it….that does not mean baron von trump should be worth 150 million dollars at 19. It’s theft and they should all be in
Jail (along with whomever you whatabouters are saying as you mouth read this)
JD Vance just said Trump's failure in Iran is why the GOP lost to the Blue Tsunami.
This election and the results, so far, proved that Cindy is not a strong senator and candidate. While everyone, including myself, is concerned about higher gas prices and groceries, but I still voted for her. Hopefully, she will win, but someone else needs to step in.
Hard to know where to start with these comments 🙄
12:50 yes, Phil made a bad choice. Cindy is a nice lady and was doing a fine job as Ag Commish. Since then, she's been everyone's puppet. Chris McDaniel? NEVER!
12:53, I would take Bush, McCain or Romney all day!
1:13 and 1:12 No such thing as "RINOs." What people like you call by that term are real and true Republicans with effective leadership mentality and skills.
This was all Anti-Trump! The war, the economy, grocery and gas prices, not doing a single thing he campaigned on. His entire presidency has been about him and what he can get out of it for himself and his family. He has DESTROYED the American People's White House! He DESTROYED the reflecting pool. He obliterated hundreds of trees. He wants to build that monstrosity of an arc as a monument to himself. He befriends communists. He has alienated all of our allies. Thankfully the world now sees that the majority of Americans are not with him!
