Update: JPD arrested and charged Siyaski Crawford with murder as well. Crawford is 15 years-old.
The accused killer of a 14 year-old Northwest Rankin Middle School student was denied bond yesterday in Jackson Municipal Court. However, his alleged accomplice received bond although it was set at a mere $1.5 million.
JPD charged Maxle Mooneyham with tampering with evidence/obstruction of justice. A JPD affidavit states:
A Jackson Municipal Court Judge set his bond at $1.5 million. He must stay at home unless he goes to school. However, Mooneyham is no longer enrolled in the Rankin County School District. The defendant is 16 years old.
The Court denied bond for John Foote after JPD charged him with murder. The police affidavit alleges Foote

White boy got 1.5 mill bond while black guy sits. White boy has to wear an ankle monitor while he can go to school NE Rankin, gotta get that Full Ride, and while at home. Black guy sits. Am I missing something. Why no conspiracy to commit a felony?
That seems like a smart decision. A "kid" accused as an accomplice to murder and participated in the cover-up can only be at the house or a place where hundreds of law abiding students are located.
Charged change between arrest and indictment all the time. I suspect we will see an accessory after the fact charge or indictment at some point.
Can't deny bond for obstruction in most cases
2:18 "white boy" at this time is not charged with murder. "black boy" at this time is charged with murder.
Different crimes, different charges, different bonds/no bond. Not quite sure where you see the difference in 'race' as being the deciding factor; last time I checked , neither of the code sections that are cited in the indictment mention anything about 'race', just what the action was.
But nice try - I'm sure the SPLC will be glad to have you join their team since you can find 'race' anywhere.
The kid was no longer a student a NWR High School, I think he was at one time and was sent to the Alternative school and then dropped out altogether.
To be accurate, unless a shotgun was used, they are "bullet casings," not "shell casings."
2:18,
One more time since you’re a little slow on the reading comprehension. Mooneyham does not attend ANY school in the Rankin County School District. Nor is he enrolled in any school in RCSD.
Missisippi is number one in another category - most juvenile murderers.
So, to recap: He either killed or was an accomplice to the killing of a fourteen year old...so, the solution is to put him right back in the close presence of hundreds of other fourteen year olds.
Will his bracelet, if he wears one, ensure his civil disposition? You know damned well he will be armed at school.
Reading comprehension: Mooneyham is Not enrolled in school! Can anyone read?
@ 10:09 - At that age, Mississippi law requires that he attend 'skool'. And people must obey laws.
Please tell me you're aware of that law without telling me you're not.
6:18, there are also laws against murder and being an accessory. That there is a law doesn’t mean that everyone obeys them. Mooneyham isn’t enrolled in school in Rankin County. Whether he is enrolled is a different issue from whether he should be allowed in regular school under the circumstances. Whether he is in violation for not being enrolled is irrelevant to the fact that he isn’t enrolled. He simply isn’t enrolled. That the law requires enrollment doesn’t mean he is enrolled.
@6:18 Homeschool is an option also. People unenroll students from public school all the time.
Please tell me you are aware of all options without telling me your not.
I also appreciate "people must obey laws" on school enrollment while commenting on a thread about murderers.
He is enrolled at Alternative School as of late. If you read the articles all 3 arrested boys as well as the deceased were peers at alternative school.
White kid was driving car… black front seat passenger and back seat black passengers pulled guns on each other. Shooting started. White guy pulls off road and runs Hears more shooting… after it stops goes back to vehicle. Body on ground. Hauls ass and cleans out blood and casings after being threatened to do so or else.
According to JPD police chief the shooting occurred inside the vehicle. I can’t believe that the driver approved of this happening inside his vehicle.
Driver could have called police or asked someone else to if they didn’t have a phone when exiting the vehicle but chose to go back instead. Pretty much shows the driver was not in fear for his own life.
Where guns are involved, the driver wouldn’t be in the position to approve or disapprove the shooting occurring in his vehicle.
Wasn't there a case in Michigan where parents were charged for their child's crime? Is that going to become a thing that starts happening? Can the parents be charged in MS for a Minor's crime?
