Mardis Case Update

Todd Mardis attempt to seek therapy at a swanky spa in Houston several weeks ago failed when Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow rejected his request to leave the state of Mississippi for the treatment.   Flowood police charged him with aggravated domestic violence in the brutal beating of his wife in October.  He remains free on a $750,000 bond but can not leave the state without the Court's permission.  Dr. Alyssa Killibrew  recommended his treatment at the facility to the Court.  His motion to modify the conditions of the release stated:

Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow denied the motion and said he could get treatment in Mississippi.  However, there is an interesting little angle as Dr. Killibrew is not exactly unknown to the defendant prior to this episode.  These posts include pictures from a March 4 event in Rankin County.

The case continues to wind its way through the Rankin County criminal justice system.  Law enforcement sources said the District Attorney will present the case to the grand jury this month.

Note: Obviously JJ's sympathies are with the Killibrew family in the tragic loss of their loved one.  NWTF is a great organization and this particular episode is just a coincidence.

Todd: "Doc, I need a letter from you for the court so I may stay at that spa, err treatment center, in Houston and hang out, get massages and you know the drill."

Doc: Todd, you got it bro'."

Dude, I love your blog and all, but don't drag the Killebrew's into this. They are friends. Friends try to help those in need. The Killebrew's are great people and have done more for people, both with and without, than a lot of people in this state. It's a bad situation all the way around, but don't drag the Killebrew's into this.

When our behavior leads to consequences that could have been predicted and should be expected (if we are normalized adults), it's only natural that we reach out to established relationships first and seek out ways to game the system. This piece of shit is a natural born manipulator to the point where one suspects a psychosis. No one is shocked that he fully expected to be in Houston by now. Thankfully the much-maligned David Morrow has shown a propensity to pull them out of his pants and set them on the table for yellow britches to see. Looks like its Hattiesburg for you, Todd.

Boy, this ain't Hinds County! You in Rankin County now! We ain't about to let you go to some spa mental health center! You playin' with the big boys now! I don't deny he needs treatment, but as the Judge said, he can get it in Mississippi. SOB needs to do a full sentence for attempted murder.

Still think it's gonna basically go away.

KF won't post my comment about dragging the Killebrew's into this. What a beta. If you're going to have the balls to make this connection, have the balls to post someone calling you out. You're a POS to try and drag them into it. The Killebrew's are good people and have done more philanthropic work than most people in the state of MS. You're pulling a new low on this one.

A lot of people have gotten sober and stayed sober in Mississippi. There's a reason people get referred here from all over the country.

Anonymous said...

@10:01 As long as the prosecution and judge retain their testicular fortitude it's not going to go away. Video evidence isn't going to recant on the stand under pressure.

I wonder if that receding hairline bothers him more than what he did to his wife.

I would not have thought Dr. Killebrew would have treated a friend. kind of shocked here.

Mardis was a pallbearer for the psychologist's husband who was a major league Delta baller?!

I hope it doesn't go away. My wishes are that this asshole will go away for a long time.

If not, he'll just do it again. He does have one big problem: My guess is there are a lot of voting females watching this one so, the DA, judge(s), and others will be reluctant to give him a slap on the wrist.

If you needed to be reminded that KF is a little weasel troll running a gossip blog, here’s your proof.

Imagine dragging Dr. Killebrew’s name through the mud for clicks!

Anonymous said...

Nobody dragged the Killebrew's into this.

She entered the picture when she made a professional lapse in judgement.

She's well-known and respected. All she had to do was make a referral.

Defending Kingfish on this a little. I don't think he is "dragging" the Killebrews into this. She put herself into it when she agreed to treat him as a patient. Obviously they were friends before what he did to his wife. If Mr. Mardis wanted to be totally transparent, he would have sought psychological treatment or advice from someone outside his circle of friends. I am like @10:38AM...I am surprised Dr. Killebrew agreed to treat him. I do hope this does not just go away. As a domestic abuse survivor, I was always too afraid to have my ex arrested. He threatened to kill me and/or my family members. I hope Mrs. Mardis sees this through to the end. Bless her.

Anonymous said...

November 8, 2022 at 10:04 AM, well, apparently his balls are large enough to print the article, and both of your comments. What ever size that may be.

Anonymous said...

Todd Mardis dragged Mrs. Killebrew into this by going for a quick fix to try to manage and control a situation that is out of his control. Nothing is off limits for this POS.

That she apparently couldn't say no to him speaks for itself.

Anonymous said...

@ 9:46
Dr. Killebrew inserted herself into this matter when she recommended to the Court that Mr. Mardis go to a treatment facility in Houston, TX. If anyone "dragged" her into it, it was Mr. Mardis.
BTW an orangutan looking at the NWTF photos would see the appearance of bias/conflict of interest.

I guess being in contact with firearms while out on bail isn’t a violation until he is convicted of something? Just curious how that works…

“This was before the assault.” Methinks this is not the first ass whipping ole Todd passed out to his wife.

Anonymous said...

Looks to me like Dr. Killebrew may have not treated him but simply provided a referral, albeit perhaps one he wanted out of state. I fail to see a problem with going to a doctor friend for a referral.

Meanwhile, a lot of y'all need to learn about apostrophes.

Anonymous said...

No Hold on a sec. If I was in trouble, I would first turn to a friend with some experience. I see nothing wrong with the Doc making a suggestion for getting this man some help. He needs help! I dont think this is Dr. Killebrew condoning Todd's actions. While I admire 9:46's support, you sure acted an ass when your comment wasn't uploaded to the post fast enough.
Looks to me like Kingfish is reporting the whole story, which is why we are here, after all. Well done Kingfish!

@10:04 damn dude … you talk about fine upstanding people then call Kingfish a “piece of shit” because apparently you’re comment wasn’t cleared fast enough for your liking. That’s so out there it sounds like a reaction Mardis might react.

Ms. Killebrew likely understood the public coverage that could be associated with her treatment of this man as a patient. I am a little confused that a psychologist would offer trearment to a friend and not refer them to comeone else when they came seeking her services for their mental problems. I do not want to criticize her or her family for their association with him, but I do see his seeking publicity for the gift and not just offering it as an annomous gift with no mention of his family name attached as a blatant seeking of publicity and I find that somewhat out of normal actions by a person with his legal problems.

Most of the time a gify under this situation wold be better if it were a gify giver seeking no publicity.

Wouldn't it have seemed nice to see the presentation as coming from a private donor!

Oh well. No one appointed my to be God. However I might sit on his jury and that is a risk he takesm since in his mind (publically) he seeks no gratitude for his gift.

It is really ironic that these behaviors (admittedly reprehensible) draw this much attention in Rankin county. There have been 150+ MURDERS in Jackson already this year. That doesn’t draw anywhere near this attention. Admittedly, these Rankin countians represent the upper class of the county, but still. I live in Madison county, and we received similar attention for missing home owners’ funds.

Anonymous said...

Is there an actual letter from the doctor recommending a course of treatment for the defendant entered as a docket item?

Anonymous said...

“KF you’re a toolbag!”, Kingfish must have used the asshole extractor, because he sure pulled you out.

Anonymous said...

I don't know any Mardis, any Killebrew, don't live in Rankin or anywhere nearby. But if it makes you feel better, @9:46, I don't think less of any Killebrew. Nobody's "dragging the Killebrews" anywhere but in your own mind.

Leave Kingfish and Britney alone alone.

I believe a referral of this nature requires some level of evaluation. Conflicts for therapists are not the same as conflicts for a doctor objectively setting a broken bone. A therapist’s conflicts are mostly of the emotional variety, I believe, which clouds subjective judgment. Just my $0.00.

Anonymous said...

If Kellebrew did nothing wrong then she does not need Todd's "little monsters" here to defend her.

You guys need to lay off the 'roids. The rage is going to get you too.

5:51 are you powerful or have those close to you just made you feel powerful? Any sober dude with a set of balls knows Todd’s weakness and could bitch slap him across the gym. You wouldn’t know power if it hit you in the mouth.

And, this cuck dude that talks about betas has watched way too much tv and played too many video games. Just like Todd, y’all are probably only liked by your mothers. He deserves anything they give him because he’s a grown ass punk.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Mardis has a clear path forward, and it is administering more ass-whippings to anyone who dares cross him. Brilliant plan.

Jackson has had 155 murders this year. If not the per capital highest rate in the country, pretty darn close. You people are obsessed with 2 juiced up rednecks in Rankin county, slapping their wives around a little bit. Not to mention, traveling on Lakeland into Rankin county is an invitation to be pulled over by Rankin county’s finest!!!! As far as I am concerned, they can move the airport, tear the Pearl river bridge down, and completely disassociate with the Mississippi people!!!!

Anonymous said...

Not a single one of you tough-talkers has ever said anything to Todd’s face. You’ve all had your chance for the years you claim you’ve known him.

Anonymous said...

It is against psychologists’ ethics code to treat or evaluate someone with whom you have a personal relationship. It’s a dual relationship that will bias the clinical judgment and, in some cases, could result in harm to the patient. Killebrew violated the ethics code and was in the wrong. Just because she is a nice person and suffered recent tragedy does not absolve her from this inappropriate and unprofessional act.

Anonymous said...

8:08, We’ve been talking about Jackson’s per-capita homicide records for years and all it does is gets us branded as “racists.” JPD officers get prosecuted. The state sent in capital Police, who are now being investigated.

Jackson’s mayor continues to hide crime statistics, which have mostly been published because the stories have been pushed by this website. If you want to complain, complain to the mair of Jackson.

Or are they just those short obese minions that he uses to fetch his protein powder?

Truly sad a female psychologist would destroy her reputation by coming to Todd’s defense. Clearly he has a long documented history of anger issues, arrests and physical abuse. Did she not realize the attention and impact this high profile case will have on her career? Perhaps, a new favorite expert for criminal defense attorneys… cottage industry move. I get it it.

KF didn’t pull anything…he is clearly stating that wife beater tried to get one past the judge use a friend in the medical field to diagnose him so he could go to TX for treatment. Wife beater will realize that he isn’t calling the shot in the court room. KF was just showing the relationship between wife beater and doctor. Conflict of interest.

10:01 I know her pretty well personally. Have since college. She is brilliant, compassionate, and considered excellent in her field. Have friends who have received excellent care at her clinic f(or depression and for PTSD). I do not for one second think she's doing this to start a "cottage industry." For one, she does not need the money. I really think she is trying to help a friend of her late husband's get help--is it a good look...maybe not. But I know her well enough to know that she is well-intentioned.

KFish that you? First of all, this isn’t an article. It’s a “blog” which allows anybody to say anything with no evidence. A gathering of opinions and you know what they say about those. The fish posted this completely irrelevant thread to keep this “blog” afloat. There was no conflict of interest. I’m not a Mardis fan but this is ridiculous. Cue the fish nuthuggers in 3,2,1…

Hey KF, thanks for keeping the public updated about the case.
I almost want to go sit in the gallery and see how much of a dumpster fire the case will be.

And I still can’t believe their are people who admire and worship people like the Todds of the world. But here they are defending him every day on here. Unbelievable the “gray area” some people possess to idolize these people…

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
