C19 Patients Might Have Immunity After All

Recovery from Covid-19 virus might just include long-lasting immunity to the disease.  A new but non-peer reviewed study claims Covid-19 victims maintain enough immune cells to prevent reinfection. The New York Times reported:

Eight months after infection, most people who have recovered still have enough immune cells to fend off the virus and prevent illness, the new data show. A slow rate of decline in the short term suggests, happily, that these cells may persist in the body for a very, very long time to come.

The research, published online, has not been peer-reviewed nor published in a scientific journal. But it is the most comprehensive and long-ranging study of immune memory to the coronavirus to date...

And the research squares with another recent finding: that survivors of SARS, caused by another coronavirus, still carry certain important immune cells 17 years after recovering....

The findings are consistent with encouraging evidence emerging from other labs. Researchers at the University of Washington, led by the immunologist Marion Pepper, had earlier shown that certain “memory” cells that were produced following infection with the coronavirus persist for at least three months in the body.*

A study published last week also found that people who have recovered from Covid-19 have powerful and protective killer immune cells even when antibodies are not detectable.

These studies “are all by and large painting the same picture, which is that once you get past those first few critical weeks, the rest of the response looks pretty conventional,” said Deepta Bhattacharya, an immunologist at the University of Arizona... Rest of article

This being Jackson Jambalaya, you know what comes next.  The study is posted below.

*Caveat: The majority of subjects had a mild case of COVID-19, not requiring hospitalization.  92% of subjects were never hospitalized for Covid-19, 7% were hospitalized, some of whom required intensive care unit (ICU) care.

Now we just need to try and keep the virus from spreading uncontrolled for the next few months until the vaccine is widely available across the U.S. The end is hopefully in sight, but we still have a way to go before we can have a return to normal. Unfortunately I think we'll see a massive increase after Thanksgiving and Christmas as people gather with their extended families indoors and spread it around.

This has been known for quite some time. Our elected and unelected officials are taking advantage of this fake pandemic to lock us all down. Why is it no new studies such as this seem to make an impact on our public policy?

A top official from the WHO already said this months ago but quickly retracted the statement in less than 24 hours

What's the Rt factor associated with that there immunity?

Retracted voluntarily or was pressured to retract?

I suspect the COVID vaccine will be like the flu vaccine; somewhat effective, but since viruses constantly mutate won't be as effective.

What if the prevention is worse than the disease? I'm not talking about natural immunity.

I was wondering just yesterday: What if it's learned that men infected with and recovered from this virus are thereafter incapable of producing the sperm necessary to produce offspring. Why have we heard zero about motility testing?

May be 25 years before we finally learn the disastrous results of this Chinese Flu.

@12:25, so you deny Klaus Schwab, Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson, Bill Gates and a laundry list of national leaders and unelected scumbags said the things they’ve said about using this “pandemic” to usher in globalism?

@10:10 because the study hasn’t been peer-reviewed or even published in a scientific journal yet. You don’t make public policy decisions that will affect 300+ million Americans based on an unpublished report by a scientist (or group of scientists) that has not been peer-reviewed. For all we know, they could’ve misinterpreted the empirical data and their conclusions are wrong. But this is how science has always worked. You develop a theory, submit it to you peers (actual scientists, not arm-chair scientists) for review, and, if they’re mistaken, the theory is rejected by the community. When this happens, it often leads to the development of a new and better theory.

@3:59, different poster here but I'll bite. I think smart people are adapting and making the best of a horrible situation. Not all smart people are good people and there will always be people who use tragedies or disasters to their advantage. I think the bulk of the people still calling the whole thing fake are:

1) Desparate people who are angry. They may have lost a job or have some other personal hardship that makes their life miserable.
2) Trump fans who have bought in so completely that it has become their personality.
3) People who struggle with a multitude of different mental health conditions.

@8:39pm: 2 & 3 are one and the same.

Y’all need to find something else to do besides worry about this. The end.

It is so much easier and lazy to just accept what you are hammered with day after day than to think critically and independently like a free American human.

If this is how science has always worked, how do we then explain why the authoritarians have settled on the mask mandates? Would that not be considered public policy decisions? And yet, when we do get an actual RCT study this week that shows masks don't work, the drums continue to beat.

It is this that causes people of goodwill and common sense to question any dictate from our dear trustworthy Faucci.

It is our overblown response to the virus that is a hoax, and we seem determined to throw a hundred years of scientific knowledge out the window. I can only surmise the reason for that hoax is political and personal gain.

While I accept that Covid-19 is real, all the numbers of deaths world wide and in the USA are not catastrophic. I believe many of the deaths are those that may have been destined to die from other issues but were found to be positive.
Today MSDH reports News cases of COVID-19: 1,972 with New COVID-19 related deaths: 15.That in my opinion is telling. The larger number of positive cases is never truly broken down to show sick requiring treatment at home or in house. Never told how many are subclinical or asymptomatic and I assume deaths related to Covid does not necessarily mean "died from Covid, but more probably died while indicated positive WITH Covid. I do believe that Covid is a money maker and that it is a very survivable condition. My opinion and I am quite sure some experts will try to state this is the absolute worst thing to hit mankind. So be it. Fear controls many.

I got it in March, how long am I good for?

A family friend was diagnosed positive back in May, suffered through it and fully recovered. She tested positive again yesterday. Immunity may not be complete and/or may not be universal.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
