NE Jackson hood goes back to prison

Chambers
Madison County Circuit Judge William Chapman sent Javaris Chambers back to prison for four years yesterday after a revocation hearing was held in honor of the Northeast Jackson hoodlum. Chambers was arrested earlier this year for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.  Judge Chapman imposed a four-year suspended sentence from an earlier conviction.  Chambers has terrorized Northeast Jackson over the last several years as be belongs to a crew that loves to kick in doors, smash and grab, and engage in other forms of criminal behavior.  He is all of 20 years old. Neighbors at one point even created a Facebook page dedicated to him just to monitor his activities.   Young Chambers apparently did not learn from serving nearly a year in prison as he has been repeatedly arrested since he was paroled in June.

JJ reported earlier this year:

Northeast Jackson residents need to keep an eye out for one Javaris Chambers.  This guy lives on the corner of Jamaica and Wayneland.  He apparently can not stay out of trouble as he was arrested for shoplifting less than two weeks after he got out of prison. Mr. Chambers may be only twenty years old but he has been busy working the criminal justice system in Hinds and Madison Counties over the last two years.  He also runs with a little gang that loves to smash and grab, kick and grab, and commit other acts of crime. These guys are well known to the police of Jackson, Ridgeland, and even Kenner, Louisiana.  ...

Chambers pleaded guilty in October 2014 to one count of grand larceny in Madison County.  A second count was dropped.   Madison County Circuit Judge William Chapman sentenced Chambers to served five years in prison but suspended the last four years pending completion of a house arrest program.  MDOC records state he was paroled on June 23, 2015.  Remember the Hinds County indictment?  Hinds County Circuit Judge Winston Kidd fined Chambers all of $250 and ordered him released from jail.   Actually, he imposed a prison sentence of three years but suspended two years and 364 days of the sentence.  Judge Kidd gave him credit for time served.... Earlier post with arrest records.
MDOC and Madison-Rankin District Attorney Michael Guest filed a petition to impose the four-year suspended sentence on Chambers.  Sergeant Michael Huff of the Hinds County Sheriff's Office testified that he caught Chambers at the state fair carrying a .40 caliber handgun.  Judge Chapman

ADA McLaurin, Chambers, Sgt. Huff, MDOC rep.
Kingfish note: Now its time to get his pal, Torez White, so they can have a class reunion of sorts.  Big thanks goes to Sergeant Huff on this revocation as his testimony made it possible.

Perhaps Javaris hasn't had a good "date" since he left prison.

If he checks in now, he will be eligible to run for prom queen

He will not be there long enough to get the crown. Will be back on the streets in weeks. Just how Jackson treats criminals.

Kudos to the HCSO. Will he be tried on the felon in possession charge? If so, any chance that could be moved to Federal Court, where sentencing can be less lenient? BTW, the house on the opposite corner is where longtime Jackson attorney Sidney Stribling lived.

Surprising no one has killed him when he kicks their door in or has he just been lucky?

He looks like a nice clean-cut Christian boy. No sagging pants or flashing gang signs. He could be a JA, Prep or SA honor society member.

As a citizen of the metro area and a white male lucky enough to have gone to Private college and university I have to wonder are we as a society punishing black males unfairly. Look at the number of black inmates.i believe as this kid being only 20 years old prison isn't the answer. We should be doing more to see that he can become a part of a productive society and help him see that. Any thoughts?

These punks aren't coming in from another part of town, they live among their victims. They don't do anything. They watch and know everyone's routines. Thus they break in and steal while no one is home.

Then of course the mother screams racism when someone complains to her about her boy as has been related to me by others.

Go to hell. I'm all about doing something about the environment of these kids. Most of them come up in broken homes, go to a crappy school system, and then fall in with the wrong crowd.

However, this guy lives in a decent neighborhood. Folks are there. He is in with a bad crowd. He has crossed the line more than a few times. He wakes up every morning thinking of what he can steal that day and how he can steal it. He and buds rob all over the place. Jackson, Ridgeland, and even New Orleans. That is what they do for a living.

Yes, one would think at that age he could be saved but he first has to have the desire to change. He got out of serving nearly a year in prison. Think it did him any good? Nope. One week later he shoplifted at Dillards. More breakin's in his neighborhood took place.

He is a danger to our homes and he deserves to be locked up. He was strapping and packing at the state fair. Is THAT what you want around your kids?

We are much safer having him locked up and he did this to himself. F*** him . This is a war and he just became a casualty. Sucks to be him and to hell with any of his enablers either in reality or philosophically.

What's really ironic is that a uniformed JPD officer lives just down the street on Wayneland and prominently parks his cruiser at the end of the driveway when home.

KF--I agree. I grew up poor and didn't spend my young life thinking about getting something quick. I thought about how to better myself and how to get to college and get out. I went to a very crappy school--heck, half the time I was pointing out the errors in the answer key!

Yes, its sad that this young person has turned to crime. Don't blame society at large, but blame it on the lifestyle he 'aspires' to.

Why should the scum be anything other than what he is? He gets what ever he wants and hollers racism if he doesn't. People are so afraid of being called racist that they will let these punks do what ever they want. It is about time for America to grow a pair.

At 9:55 the sentencing guidelines for felon with a firearm is the same in federal and state courts. It carries a max 10 years in prison.

@10:58. I see your point. The kid suffered the ill fate of being raised in Jackson in a failed school system. He really never had a chance. You should adopt him.

You mentioned the "secret " face book page that monitored that thugs activities...true, however, it also monitors all suspicious activities in the whole neighborhood association. A great crime fighting tool. Unfortunately, the PC crowd started whining about perps being identified as " b/m" (black males) claiming it was rascist. The last I heard before I dropped out of the group was that the administrator was going to hold a racial reconciliation summit giving the PC crowd a platform to tell the rest of us face to face how they really feel....you can't make this stuff up...

To quote Jack Nicholson, "If you don't want to be locked up, don't do shit they lock people up for doing".

To quote an idiot, "He a good boy. He just fell in wit da wrong crowd".

To quote another idiot, "He went afoul of the law because of limited opportunities, discrimination and the failure of those who were in charge of his development".

To quote a final idiot, "My boy might bust yo ass and take yo shit, but he ain't the kinda boy who gonna shoot you!"

I lived in the neighborhood Javaris and his crew stayed and operated in. My home was less than a stone's throw from his. Thankfully, it didn't take but a few home, car and storage shed break ins to stir several vigilant neighbors who quickly zero'd in on the Javaris, Broderick and crew. Broderick is another criminal featured here on JJ, pic shows him wearing some sort of bullet proof vest with an AK47 over his shoulder. Many in our area chose to live there within the last 5-10 years and knew it to be fairly ripe for property crimes, mostly cars and storage rooms with a house burglary here and there. These crooks, this single group of 5-10 no goods, their presence amp'd up fear at first, then awareness, then communication among our law abiding citizens and JPD to a level most neighborhood watch groups could only dream of.

All that to say, if 10:58's post is even his serious opinion, then being a direct and indirect victim of circumstances cuts both ways. So Javaris' hardship was living in NE JXN with his mother and attending JPS? Well our hardship was spending money on alarm systems/cameras/outdoor lighting, worrying while at work our home would be burglarized, periods of sleeplessness after hearing an unfamiliar noise and when everyone's dogs barked, etc. We as individuals did not create any hardships for Javaris, but he and his friends damn sure created plenty for us. It's not about age or race, it's about disregarding and degrading peoples' sense of safety.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. If you live in Jackson, you can expect to be terrorized by your neighbors. PERIOD. You idiots in denial brought it on yourselves.

Anonymous said...

Sort of hard to protect a neighbor hood from themselves. That is even if the cops decided to do their job. How can they arrest anyone for a crime when the victims help the crook get away?
Anyone remember a few years ago when there was a robbery and shooting at one Jackson business? No one knew the thieves and shooters even though there were several witnesses. One witness got real excited when she was interviewed on tv. She didn't know who the crooks were but actually called one by name before she realized it.

I like the post at 8:22. Everybody is not a hoodlum.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
