Tommy Young back out on the streets. (Updated)

Update: Here is this little photo of young Mr. Young that was taken shortly after he got out of jail:

Consider Tommy Orlando Young to be armed and dangerous if encountered in public.  Feel free to use this picture for target practice at the shooting range as there is no copyright protection for the photo.  Thank you, Judge Bill Gowan. Thank you, Robert Schuler Smith.  Thank you all for working together to actually give this guy a bond and put him back on the streets.  Oh, and thank you Judge Houston Patton for not giving this guy a bond.

Original post on December 11: You may remember this little manhunt back in 2013:

The little thugs hit a house in Northeast Jackson, led the police on a high-speed chase, and then were caught by the Pearl River.  Hinds County Judge Houston Patton did his job and refused to set bond for Mr. Tommy Young.  He sat in jail for over a year and a half. He is scheduled to go to trial on February 2 and is the subject of a three indictments ( see documents posted below).  He is represented by Dennis Sweet, IV.  Mr. Sweet filed a motion to set bond.  Well, the prosecutor agreed to a bond of $120,000 and submitted the requested bond to Judge Bill Gowan.  Judge Gowan approved the request.  Mr. Young bonded out less than 24 hours later.  JPD sources used football terms and said Mr. Young is an "impact player" and that crime will go up while he is free.

What is interesting is there is one indictment  for a crime he is alleged to have committed in June 2013- while he was in jail.

Kingfish note: its one thing for a judge to approve a bond, another for the prosecutors to agree to a bond.  Such deals have to be made when bonds ridiculously low (Dedmon) or ridiculously high (Mayfield) but one expects the prosecutors to at least fight the request when it is made in a case such as this one.

Your "note" is further proof that you never used your law degree to actually practice law but instead enjoy playing Monday Morning Quarterback.

Making an argument for the sake of making an argument kills the prosecutor's credibility over time. If the defendant is bond eligible, a $120,000 bond is very fair to both sides.

Blah blah blah. Yes, and you experts have done such a GREAT job of ruining, oops, I meant running the system.

kf, you need to review the court file and then report the complete story.

Am I reading this right? 5'-2" and 130 lbs?? I've left bigger things in the toilet.

10:34, considering the fact that more times than not, the severity of the crimes only escalate each time these habitual criminals come out of that revolving door at the Hinds County Courthouse, it's only a matter of time before someone's life is taken by this selfish POS. If it so happens to be one of your loved ones, will you still feel that $120k price tag was a "fair" price for both parties? I think not.

Court file is right there in the posts.

Kkking fish why don't you show that when white men get let go you damn racist

My suggestion is that the DISTRICT ATTORNEY do his job and take this thug to trial. It is not like there are not courtrooms available. The AG seems to be available to use those days to take up Mr. Smith's slack.
And no I am not an employee of either or any prosecutor.

If they had tried him during that 1.5 years he was in jail, bond would not now be an issue. As it stands, I'd say he has a great chance of getting off due to lack of a speedy trial. Either way it's a fail for those running the system.

Hey! @7:21AM why don't you put down your crack pipe and catch the next bus to Ferguson? You would fit right in with the rest of those tards.

Anonymous said...

The best part of this is that if you or your family are the unfortunate victim of this guy while he's out on bail, because of prosecutorial immunity and the Eleventh Amendment, there's not a thing you can do about it legally.

Quick Draw said...

What area has he committed most of his crimes? I have nothing to do tonight, leaving my truck "unattended" and watching it with a rifle sounds like a fantastic way to pass the night.

There's nothing else in the world I would love more than to see this thug legally put down and no one go to jail for it. Arm yourselves and defend your property folks. Maybe we'll get lucky and save some tax dollars.

The $120,000.00 is fair and would be comparable for bond in the Madison County Circuit Court and Rankin County Circuit Court for house burglary.

Surely the photo of the gun can be used to revoke this malignate midget's bond? Does he have a prior felony conviction?

Anonymous said...

7:21 English not your first language? JPS grad? What's your excuse for not being able to communicate coherently with normal people?

Anonymous said...

There are so many evil militants in the Jackson metro area that would fit right in with the ISIS terrorists.
Will Tommy and other demons be joining that murderous hate group soon?

Don't quit your day job KF. You obviously know little about criminal procedure. This guy will surely get his day in court. Setting bond or not setting one has little to do with whether he will be convicted when that time comes.

It seems to me that we have many crimes committed by people on bail. I can not understand what kind of mind would allow posting a selfie with weed and a gun while on bail. Isn't this against the bond? Is it reason to revoke a bond? In other words, do we have any standards of behavior required while on bond?

Quick draw:

Northeast Jackson.

Put an NRA sticker on your car. Also put one that says "This truck protected by Smith & Wesson".

Quick Draw said...

No I can't put the stickers on there because then they'll target me when I'm not waiting on them. I keep all of that stuff off of my truck, those stickers might as well say 'there's a gun inside, come and take it.' I was thinking a four wheeler in the bed with a empty rifle case in the back seat would be sufficient bait.

@ 12:54 - Completely agree. This just let's the perps know they need to shoot you before they begin robbing you.

NE Jackson - just shop where the blue lights are flashing. Seems like that's about everywhere now.

Anonymous said...

The thugs are targeting GM and Ford trucks with or without stickers. They're bashing in windows on a regular basis throughout Fondren looking for guns.

I really that if a cracker had been released similarly and KF had a pic of him with a .45 & a muddy-weed in his lips, he'd probably displayed the same thing.

At noon, today, there were seven (7) JPD cars, lights flashing, on Brecon just past the Brecon/Hillview intersection, behind Spann Elementary

The problem here is not the fact that he is out on bond. Or the amount of the bond.

The problem is the same one as to why the Hinds Detention Center (Jail) has had many of their recent problems.

He was in the "detention center" for a year and a half without a trial. Don't matter how convinced you are, KF, that he is the perp that committed these crimes - he has not been convicted yet. The detention center is not designed, intended, or legally correct in being a holding place for a year - or in some cases, many years - for perps like this to wait out their time in court.

Shuler-Smith ain't doing his job and we all know it. And he aint being forced to do it by most of the Judges in Hinds County. Green is more interested in getting an additional baliff and getting the baliff paid more money than in conducting trials and putting people like this thug away where they belong (that big farm up in the Delta).

Anonymous said...

Maybe he will go to Staten island for the holidays.

Keeping an eye out said...

Or maybe He'll cross my path so I can stomp on him like the bug he is.

Anonymous said...

Go easy on Judge Gowan, KF. He simply signed an Agreed Order. He's not only the only decent Circuit Judge we have in Hinds County, he's an outstanding Circuit Judge who is smart, prepared, and tries to do the right thing.

Anonymous said...

Listening to JPD on the scanner, and Tommy Young has just be arrested! He's en route to headquarters now. I don't know what for, but they said they picked him up from some game.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't imagine trying to be on the Jackson police force. Really-where do you start? Drugs? Murders? Sexual assaults? Robberies? There just too many crimes out there!

But it sounds like the JPD were waiting to put this one back in jail. Why a judge would grant bail to this makes me wonder what that judge Really believes.

Anonymous said...

The law says he's entitled to bail. But if he violates bail conditions he gets locked up and is not entitled to bail.
An inmate search shows this:

http://www.co.hinds.ms.us/pgs/apps/inmate/inmate_detail.asp?ID=7700098152

Does this mean for sure he's back in jail?

Anonymous said...

Looks like he meets the qualifications to be the Airport Director, he should....oh, wait....never mind.

Guess you missed Kuebler, Bell, Evans Brothers, and other wayward honkies posted on this website, dumbass.

I bet you listen to WMPR every Friday night, don't you.

The boldness of these idiots is astonishing. I wonder how many females he has bred, and have bastard babies on welfare.

The Dale Gribbles posting what they'd do to Mr. Young is amusing. A fun thing to do is read these keyboard cowboy posts and listen to "Dueling Banjos." "Eeuff it wuz me I'd shoot hem HURR HURR"

Does anyone know who, if anyone, is running against DA Smith? Can anyone beat him?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
