Former State Representative Nick Bain announced he is running for State Auditor earlier this week.
The Street Committee says State Senator Daniel Sparks (R-PERS) and attorney Phillip Buffington are looking at throwing their hat in the ring as well. Stay tuned.

This seems like a complete waste of time and money because love him or hate him, no one stands a chance against Shad White. I heard once that political victory was heavily correlated with name recognition, and we ALL know who that guy is.
Shad isn't running for auditor again. Other than that minor detail, 12:05, you're right.
@1205, since you've obviously been living under a rock, the Auditor's office will be vacant when Shad White (presumably) runs for governor in 2027.
That said, it seems Shad's name ID is pretty high if someone as disconnected as you know it.
R-PERS is a good one, KF.
Someone should ask Jeff Smith (R-Ret.) how that worked out for him.
Shad for governor
Another unqualified politician wanting to be state auditor and chase stolen pennies while missing millions in government corruption.
I continue to hope and pray that someone in DC (hell, ANYONE in DC) decides to offer little man shadrack an opportunity to take his muppet show on the road to DC. Please, Lord. Get his scrawny @$$ outta here.
I would support Buffington or anybody else that has not been in the legislature.
@12:35
I am definitely disconnected from all of that since our options are a temu roy rodgers, this little guy (presumably), and an 80 year old man name Dilbert. I would rather not watch this train wreck.
Anybody else get the 'Delbert Delivers' mailer in their post?
