The Madison Police Department issued the following statement and mug shots.
On Saturday, March 9, 2024 at approximately 6:00PM, an officer with the Madison Police Department attempted to stop a silver 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. Dispatch advised the officers that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Jackson, MS. Once the officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled northbound at a high rate of speed. It was also noted by officers during the pursuit that the occupants were reaching into the back seat and grabbed what appeared to be two assault style rifles. The suspect vehicle then took the Sowell Rd exit where Gluckstadt PD and Madison County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the pursuit. After taking Sowell Road, the vehicle then turned north onto Old Jackson Road where it entered the ditch area and made a U turn, almost striking an officer, who was getting out of his vehicle. The vehicle then got back onto the roadway and made its way north onto Highway 51. The suspect vehicle ultimately wrecked out after losing control of the vehicle on Highway 51 just south of Nissan Parkway. Both occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot, each having a rifle in their possession. After a brief foot chase, JW Clayton III of Jackson, MS was taken into custody and one of the rifles was also located after the apprehension. Mr. Clayton was later booked in and charged with Receiving Stolen Property (Felony), Felony Fleeing, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime (Felony), and Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor).

At approximately 7:00PM, dispatchers advised that they had just received a call from a passerby that they observed a black male get into a silver Honda Accord on Highway 51 just south of the first stop location. Gluckstadt Police Department located the Accord and attempted to stop the vehicle which ultimately led to a second pursuit. That pursuit led officers southbound on Interstate 55 and entered the Madison city limits where a Madison PD officer then led the pursuit into Jackson city limits where he lost site of the vehicle. Through an extensive investigation it was learned that the driver of the Honda Accord was identified as Anthony Demetric Thomas and the other occupant was identified as Tyler Devon Myles, both of Jackson, MS.

JW Clayton |
Kingfish note: JPD arrested Myles in November and charged him with possession of a stolen vehicle. He was out on bond. The Capitol Police arrested Clayton in January and charged him with possessing a Glock 9mm pistol and 100g of marijuana with intent to sell. Thomas does not have a record but his father has a looooooong rap sheet.

now our taxes get to house them, feed them, provide medical treatment and provide them with weights to lift all day. These people provide nothing to society. As soon as they get out they’ll just hurt someone or steal from someone.
Dumb perps. They should know better than to come to Madison County.
Would love to see videos from dash cams and body cams.
Great job to all law agencies assisting. Wish it as on you tube like Arkansas and Sheriff Lamb and Deputy Frank!
Way to go law enforcement officials!! Get these thugs outta our hair!!
While I do love to see a thug doing dumbs shit get instant karma, my heart breaks when I try to view these kids through the eyes of their potential if they had been raised like I was... with a support system. 2 parents present, accountability, pressure to do the right thing, etc.
Hard to see kids on a daily basis just throwing their life away while endangering others.
There are no fathers in these kids lives.
You would think with all of the giant churches in Jackson and surrounding areas(black and white), that this generational problem could be solved but that nice stage, sounds system, big giant projectors and screen with sound equipment and online streaming, that new building project, a
huge paid staff and maybe they also prefer to have a gym for garage sales, potlucks and games.
Lets see how many social media posts of big church groups travel to other countries for a 2 week mission trip while they fly out over the 3rd world crumbling city just a few miles from the airport.
We sure can't expect the city to solve it and the churches prefer to just shit on it too.
Actually, that fahterless dynamic is changing. I'm seeing more and more juniors and seniors in the criminal dockets. Or I will see the same name for a plethora of charges BUT there are two sets of the charges that are 15-20 years apart. Turns out to be father son. In other words, crime is becoming a family tradition.
Kingfish, just because someone gives you a name that doesn't make them a father.
These vermin are everywhere. Their actions are causing nothing but destruction and astronomical costs to society.
The bad part is there is no answer.
Just keep your Glock close by.
@9:46 -- I hear you, BUT I know a lot of single mothers that raise outstanding children. Agreed, two is always better than one ... but why is it always someone else's fault (church, being single, etc) you choose not to raise your kids right? Basically it is their preferred way of life -- it's a darn shame!
Madison is #1 in Mississippi for a reason!!!
9:46 - I would suggest you look into the incredible ministries of Soul City Church, located in the neighborhood behind Millsaps College (https://thebaptistrecord.org/?s=Soul+City). Your involvement in their efforts to reach out to their community will I'm sure be greatly appreciated.
Great job!!!!! Give all three of them the maximum sentences. Wrong place in Madison county.
I had an employee some years back who claimed his name was xxx III. The third for those of you in Flora.
I asked him what the hell that meant and he said it meant he had legitimate parentage x 3. This junior and senior shit is just that, shit.
Meanwhile....Here we go again....

We will thank Bubba later.
9:46, perhaps you should learn about the work of Mission First. BTW, what are you doing about the issue?
