Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens issued the following statement.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announces the guilty verdict convicting Terrance Longino of First-Degree Murder. Longino was convicted following a five-day trial, in the Circuit Court of Hinds County.
On July 7, 2018, JPD Officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Eastview and Central Street where they discovered the body of 26-year-old Lee Evans. At trial the evidence supported that Longino shot multiple into Lee Evans’ body over an alleged theft of a broken iPhone and $30.00.
Longino was sentenced to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
“This is another act of senseless violence, our office is committed to holding those who commit these acts accountable”, says District Attorney Owens.

Smart phones kill - it's a fact.
This young man was walking around looking for the slightest reason to use his gun. He set the bar pretty low to pull it out over $30 and a broken iPhone. These yutes need to learn the fine art of bare knuckle boxing to settle those type disagreements.
Which Hinds county judge presided over this trial? Its totally out of character of any Hinds county judge to actually incarcerate anyone to any meaningful time.
We need to bring back executions for clowns such as this so as to cull the herd and clean this shithole up. If that makes me a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging redneck cretin, I shall simply have to bear up under the shame of it.
It only took 6 years to get to trial......
Goon squad should be first in line if there are any executions to be made.
2018? That is sad.....
