FOOD FIGHT!!!

http://yallpolitics.com/index.php/yp/post/5448/#21406

"To be generous, it reeks of poor discretion on her part. But taken in context of almost three years of proclaimed journalist-lite jihad against Melton that includes loaded implicit and explicit statements about his sexuality, his marraige, his fatherhood, his sobriety, his sanity, his lawyers, his bodyguards, his sister-in-law, his relationship with Shirlene Anderson (and I could go on, but I am too tired), this starts to look like flat-out unbalanced behavior on her part...."

"Somebody just e-mailed that there is outrage in the wingnut-o-sphere that I published Melton's old phone number above—the one that he just changed, and no longer works.Eh?Can anyone explain the logic behind such outrage to me? Maybe I'm a bit dense today, but I'm feeling that this a victimless crime and that yuckville is getting a bit desperate to find something, anything to say on the Melton front. "

Food fight even on the JFP forums. This post will be zapped so I am copying it here:
Apparently the “free” in the Jackson Free Press has a kind of Orwellian meaning, since I was not allowed to post to the responses under my original email address. I have now registered under another account, which I’m sure will be banned forthwith, but I am Maria Wyeth who posted last week about the JFP’s “un”-endorsement of David Blount. I do find it _staggering_ that readers who disagree are not allowed to post to the JFP site.
At the moment, I think the “Jackson Press” would be a far more accurate name for this newspaper.Below is the response I was not allowed to post:Well, Ms. Ladd, I've been offline for a couple of days and have just seen your responses to my post. Donna Ladd wrote: I can hear it now: "You know David, if you'll go after Richard White for ;not sponsoring anti-immigration bills, all those Republicans in Byram who want a conservative will turn around and vote for you, man! We'll have 'em then! And don't worry about all them Belhaven types; they're going to vote for you regardless of what you say about immigrants."For someone who claims to be so sensitive about racism and classcism, you seem pretty contemptuous of people who live in Byram, and you're insulting _someone_ (your writing's not clear enough for me to figure out whom) with your phrase "them Belhaven types."
At any rate, your paper's editorial policies in regard to its endorsements seem spectacularly inconsistent (I'd go into detail but I fear it might evoke another fit of last minute hysteria from you, and you'd "un"-endorse some candidate this city desperately needs).
Unfortunately, consistency is not something I expect from the JPF any longer. It was an interesting (albeit shoestring, and therefore even more admirable), operation the first year or so, and I know that I, like many people, found it fun and exciting to read. That fun and excitement disappeared somewhere along the line, and I can't help but wonder if what _appears_ to be your increasing arrogance has something to do with the leaden quality of the JFP in the last couple of years.
Your continuously mentioning how you went off to the Big City and returned to Mississippi to help the rest of us _see the light_ grew tiresome a long time ago, and now it just seems sad: an empty rhetorical device you invoke in any given argument where you're unable to articulate your position on the actual issue in question.
Let me state this more clearly: I'm pretty sure every literate person in Jackson KNOWS you grew up in Neshoba County, went up north and got educated and enlightened. There are many people who grew up in the deep south, lived elsewhere, and chose to come back. Unlike you, we don't run around trumpeting that fact as if it makes us somehow singular, and smarter and more ethically impeccable than everyone else. Give it a rest, I beg you.
I'm sincerely glad you're working on helping to make Jackson a better place, but you'd be far more effective if you'd lose your salvific and often patronizing tone. Not to mention if you’d do a quick refresher course of what the meaning of a “free press” is in this country.
Once more, let me say that I've never found any candidate with whom I agree completely, including David Blount. But he is a deeply ethical man; he's committed to the issues that are most important to me; and I'm off to vote for him in the next hour.Maria Wyeth, one of "them Belhaven types"

Damn. Let the melee commence. By the way, don't get too comfortable Clarion-Ledger, I have a special post just for you later this week.

Ladd is such a liar. She reads all the blogs herself.

If you haven't read that article in Glamour magazine about her highness, you really have no idea what a sanctimonious, self-aggrandizing bitch she really is.

I see where students here from other states to campaign are now "outside agitators" according to Ladd.

By the way, maria was really the now-deceased Aleda Shirley, a truly wonderful woman. I do miss our email exchanges.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards.
