The Drug Dealers of Castlewoods

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.

On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant in the Castlewoods subdivision after an extensive investigation into drug shipments and transactions to and from a residence in that area.

Through the execution of the search warrant, three (3) individuals were arrested for Trafficking a Controlled Substance and later transported to the Rankin County Detention Center. The individuals are identified as Traveon Jonte Evans, Marc Alexander Arizmendi, and Jonarius Jamal Thomas.

Deputies recovered approximately 9 lbs. of marijuana that had been packaged for black market sales, one (1) 9mm handgun commonly referred to a “Ghost Gun” due its untraceable characteristics [no manufacturer, no serial number, etc.], approximately $2500 in US Currency associated with drug sales, and items to package and prepare marijuana for sale/shipment. This is an on-going investigation and therefore further charges are possible. The firearm recovered in the search warrant will be provided to the MS Crime Lab in Pearl, MS for analysis.

"Ghost gun" is a term invented by the anti-gun crowd. If I want to build a firearm from scratch, screw the government. The last time that I checked owning a "ghost gun" is not against the law in MS and in most states.

11:50 - so you are suggesting that these are merely entrepreneurial youths being held down by the left?

Anonymous said...

Less hope they didn't torture or make them drink urine during arrest so charges will stick if they are guilty.

Anonymous said...

But “home made gun” doesn’t sound catchy enough to get repeated endlessly

@11:50 AM RCSO are repeating what is commonly told to the public. Keep in mind that RCSO are racists and they don't view black 2A rights the same as white 2A rights. The average Joe Sixpack and Sally Soccermom still think guns need to be registered. Using an 80% kit is not building a gun "from scratch" like Philip Luty did over 30 years ago. Same goes for 3D printing a lower and building it from a kit.

11:50, they had to call those guns by some name, and “ghost gun” seems very appropriate to me. And no, I’m not anti-gun, there’s a good chance I have more than you do. Don’t get all riled up for nothing.

I will save the MS Crime lab some trouble. It is a Polymer 80 PR940v2 lower in Desert Tan with a used police surplus Gen III Glock 19 upper receiver purchased from eBay.

Do any manufacturers even sell handgun frames/AR lowers/receivers without a serial number stamped on it?

Or does "ghost gun" merely refer to the inability to trace the firearm back to a retailer/FFL dealer?

Anonymous said...

Shame. Used to be such a safe area.

"Do any manufacturers even sell handgun frames/AR lowers/receivers without a serial number stamped on it?"

No. But you can make your own from unfinished, unserialized frames that are by law not guns until you finish some of the machining. These are commonly known as "80%" receivers.

Three guys and 9 pounds of pot packaged for resale but only one handgun (a "roll-yer-own," pardon the pun, in a Kydex holster) with one standard magazine, $2500 in pretty clean twenties, and no other drugs. Maybe the gun was stolen "as-found" and recovered "as-stolen," but still, from what little I know about this kind of thing that doesn't sound like your typical haul from such a bust. There may not be any more details forthcoming but there may be something more to this story.

2:46, Thanks for the info. That has been very confusing to me.

I'm surprised there are that many people of criminal intent with the equipment and the know-how to complete the machining, with the precision necessary to produce a functioning firearm.

It's never been illegal to make your own firearms but prior to plastic framed handguns it was typically only a thing people with a machine shop or at minimum a mill and drill press did. Plastic frames can be 3d printed or machined with relatively speaking cheap tools and slides and barrels can be ordered online.

3:02, I can promise you there’s more to it.

Anyone have the address where they busted this group? I’d like to know which property management company allows drug dealers in their Castlewoods rental. Unless the house was purchased by “family” for this purpose.

There are no more “safe areas” since so many financially irresponsible people are buying homes with FHA loans and then when those homes are forclosed on the go up for HUD auction and preference is given for low income buyers.

Likely JPS peeps. Rankin HS denies bogus residency claims. Appeal to county and get approved somehow... by who?

Anonymous said...

Damn all the middle and high schoolers at NWR just lost their dealer.

Anonymous said...

All of those items would have been legal in half the states in this country which allow recreational use.

Anonymous said...

Drug dealers don't need the so-called "ghost guns," as firearms are readily available in vehicles owned by very irresponsible gun owners.

Anonymous said...

if this was KF's b buddy Shaddrack there'd be mugshots on blast with the post

You’re adorable 6:22 and probably right about NWR but Hartfield should be included in that too.

Prep's dealers live in Madison.

I know it’s just me, but I’m ready to cull the herd and return society to some semblance of normalcy. That’s why I favor capital punishment for using, manufacturing, selling, and transporting of illegal substances. The same penalty would go for banker-types laundering the proceeds. And, of course, any cop guilty of planting drugs or lying about a bust while sworn to tell the truth on a witness stand, he gets the capital sentence too. No long, drawn-out appeals; we need these people out of our workplaces and schools, everywhere, and post-haste.

RSCOs buddies don't like the competition. Gotta shut those guys down. Also, it's just weed. No one really cares.

@ October 19, 2024 at 1:18 PM -- It's still a very safe area and thriving. One bad apple doesn't change things.

All of these precious children along with some of you parents out there are selling drugs to support yourselves and the “living beyond your means”mentality. You all need to remove your heads from your asses and from beneath the sand. There are a few of us out here who were not born yesterday and can connect the dots on many things. Years of observation in Rankin County among the hoods, schools, churches, and fair weather acquaintances reveal many, many clues. Problem is there are too many people who choose to be naive and shallow about the realities that exist among you all. Do I really need to start listing out all of the tragedies within the last year that have happened in that area alone? Rankin County is the up and coming South Jackson and this is coming from someone who grew up there and saw the intentional deterioration of that area along with the rest of Jackson. Yes, I said what I said. It’s intentional because your powers that be in your little pretend it can’t happen here worlds are the very ones providing this agenda using these little thugs to do their dirty work for them. Surely some of you cannot be as ignorant as you seem to be. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Oh no! Castlewoods turning into a little Jackson

Anonymous said...

Curious as to the neighborhood in Castlewoods if anyone knows. TIA.

@ "firearms are readily available in vehicles owned by very irresponsible gun owners."

There is nothing irresponsible about keeping your own personal property locked up in your own personal vehicle or building.

they in the jail house now

Some weed and a gun, who cares? Sounds like they are maybe guilty of a zoning violation at most.

I tend to agree with you 10:21 but I will say, if I bought a nice home in Castlewoods and had a drug dealer next door with increased car traffic and sketchy folks near my home, I would be happy that zoning violation was enforced.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
