About time. Should have said closed permanently. The willingness so many have to frequent places where they kill people is amazing. You only die once, I guess.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, the chalk outlines, blood stains and police tape everywhere can really put you off your daiquiris.

Anonymous said...

I really hope this will come to an end and the Mayflower will be able to be prosperous with them being so close to this thuggish behavior

Somebody must have disrespected somebody else.

Weren't they also the source of people driving 4 wheelers down capitol street? good riddance!

Anonymous said...

Hey y'all watch your comments. Some who read "negative" opinions get sad and are offended. BTW Watch that grammar.

Anonymous said...

Why is it not declared a public nuisance? Honestly asking. Go back to when it first opened, count up all the shootings, etc.

Anonymous said...

Only a ploy.

Businesses downtown asked the landlord repeatedly to get that club out of there. From the shootings, four wheelers leaving there and speeding down Capitol St, and the Chargers doing doughnuts and hitting parked cars at the King Ed, this place is bad for downtown. Good riddance.

What's the difference between 'harmed' and 'injured'?

The only way to stop this shit is to snatch their liquor and beer licenses. Forthwith!

Anonymous said...

Myself and others were called racist when we complained about this club opening downtown. It has been nothing but a source of crime and mayhem since.

Anonymous said...

Can't wait to read the posts on the loudmouth town clown "Kamikazi's" (childish ass sh*t) FB pages. He was the racist slinger.

Anonymous said...

KF, why are you so dang pussified to only post select "culture" comments?
You're obviously okay with the progression of things.. with no apparent hope of correcting the sails - we get it.

Anonymous said...

In most states the liquor licensing authority can shut down a licensed nuisance business. Maybe there are greased palms involved?

Anonymous said...

Good riddance! Some of us are able to enjoy downtown activities like the Symphony without murdering other attendees. I know that must strike some people as crazy . . . .

Anonymous said...

Like baby Choke would take a bribe!

Anonymous said...

If the police can’t confiscate 4 wheelers in the city limits. How in the fuck can the stop a fleeing felon in a car! Put a stop to that practice and make an example out of the Four wheeler drivers! Put some teeth in the law and get a backbone Mayor!

Anonymous said...

Not just harmed and injured…according to Capital Police report one was killed.

Anonymous said...

8:45 I agree! In other cities these fools would not dare drive 4 wheelers in the city limits! Jackson has become a safe haven of all kind of shigity that no other city allows.

Anonymous said...

Can’t pay their water bill but can afford a 4 wheeler.

Anonymous said...

Have no fear, they will re-open at Thalia Mara hall with promises of fixing to mold on the chairs and walls. Chokwe will call it a collective effort from members of the community. He’ll probably bloviate about it while at his conference.

Anonymous said...

It's not a bribe if it's labeled an "entitlement." Right?

Anonymous said...

Why is anyone assuming that it is truly a goal of those running Jackson, to make things BETTER? Plenty of politicians, in both parties, are clearly expecting to be rewarded for making things worse. And plenty of Republicans who tell themselves they're making things better, are following orders which ultimately come from the same Puppetmaster(s) controlling the Dems.

In any event, I'm puzzled why so many view the event under discussion, in a negative light. Seems to me, that it could be seen as a partial reimposition
of much-needed evolutionary pressures.

It's just another dive in a third world city.

Anonymous said...

It’s not the place, it’s the clientele.

Anonymous said...

How can that which exemplifies and defines downtown be BAD for downtown? Your post makes no sense.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know who the councilman is I. This area?

Anonymous said...

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board needs to yank that liquor license, and Ted Orkin needs to be sued into oblivion. And Kane Ditto and his investor group should set about trying to buy that building from Ted - he might just let it go now.

I understood there is a City moratorium in place for downtown Jackson that would not allow any new permits for bars to open because of things like this happening. Heard the Mayflower is now going to have a bar when it reopens but who's going to challenge that..

Anonymous said...

2:18 Mayflower is an existing restaurant being renovated that serves alcohol. Do not compare to a strip club under the guise of daiquiris.

Anonymous said...

The moratorium allows a restaurant to have a bar.

@6:17. Go look at his post from yesterday. He says that he is "scared" and "mad" that there are more young black people with conservative viewpoints. Heaven forbid they form their own opinion that goes against that of "their people." IMO, people like Kamikaze are dangerous and would probably align with the same people that murdered Louis Skinner.

Donna? Are you there?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
