The Madison Police Department issued the following press release:
Credit Card Skimmers Located at Madison Gas Station
On Monday, October 3, 2016, the Madison Police Department received information from a concerned citizen via a media outlet that his credit card had been used unauthorized in out of state transactions. The citizen noted that these unauthorized charges began occurring soon after he used his credit card at the Texaco/Kangaroo Express Gas Station located on Highway 463 in Madison.
Investigators along with representatives from the gas station checked the gasoline pump in question and found that a credit card skimming device was located inside the pump’s credit card transaction terminal. Investigators also located a second skimming device in another gasoline pump at this same location. The devices are similar to the ones involved in a current credit card skimming investigation being conducted in the metro Jackson area. Both credit card skimmers are being processed as evidence and will be submitted to the MS Attorney General’s office for forensic examination.
Investigators have checked gasoline pumps at other fuel establishments in the city of Madison and have found no other devices. Investigators are also reviewing video surveillance at the location where the devices were located in an attempt to gather additional evidence.
Citizens are asked to closely monitor their credit card account activity and if they should see suspicious charges occurring on their account they should contact their credit card company immediately. Additionally, if these charges occurred shortly after the credit card was legitimately used at a gasoline pump they should contact the law enforcement jurisdiction where the gas station is located.

Pumps at Chevron at Rez are compromised. Corner of Spillway and Old Fannin. Next to Sonic and Kroger.
I had unauthorized transactions on my credit card two weeks ago. I only use this card for gas and groceries. I usually fill up at the Shell station just off the 463 exit in Madison.
These guys/gals are total piles of crap. They need to be under the detention facility.
Love's in Canton have the security tape removed
If you are talking about the station - to the immediate west of Burker King - the one that used to be a Texaco, I attempted to use my Texaco card there last week and got a 'see station attendant' message. I went inside and was told that my Texaco card would not work since it is no longer a Texaco.
Probably the reason the Shell, across the highway from this location, did not have a skimmer is because Madison County Police cars are so often there.
My wife and I had three cards compromised a few months ago, but we couldn't find any definite connections to how/where they were compromised. Must have been related to what these jack-wagons were doing.
Culinary Cowboy in Canton has something going on with their card reader. The last two times I've used my card there my bank security department has called to tell my my card has been cut off due to charges on the west coast, east coast and Burmuda.
Madison ... so dangerous you can't even use your credit card there.
Good info on skimmers, and how hard they can be to detect: https://krebsonsecurity.com/all-about-skimmers/
Had my card compromised last week. Only used the Shell at Hwy. 463 in Madison and the Kroger on I55 in Jackson.
Most gas retailers don't even bother to use stickers. If they keep them at the store, the clerks will just sell some of them to thieves. If the franchise store WANTS to do the right thing and get them, they have to buy them their self (ones with company logo), unless they are a company owned store. The gas retailers don't give a crap about stopping this. It's been widespread for a decade and our area is "surprised?" The credit card companies know about this as they have the fraud algorithms configured to check more closely for unusual activity after gas purchases. And a thief can just go online and buy the keys to open the pump AND generic stickers to cover it up. Consumer has no protection but to pay cash, and that means go inside (which is what retailer wants since you'll buy that coffee and snack). The proprietary gas company cards don't give discounts or rewards, usually. The store association wants you wide open for purchases especially in store, but at same time demands lower payments of fees on CCs. So, what's being Skimmed? Everybody's debit card and generic credit card. Win win for thief. And the stores just want you to come inside for lower fees on in store card use. No incentive to stop this by gas retailers. Not going away. These reports drive up profits, since everyone has to get gas and the narrative says go inside. Lower CC fee (than fuel island pump) or no fee at all for cash. Win Win for Retailers and thieves. This has been a security alert since 2006. Gas retailers don't care about card skimming.
Day late and a dollar short. Clinton caught em first. Still looking for peacocks though.
seems like the suburbs are getting hit with this crime wave...so much for 'county lines' and 'city lines' as a deterrent to crime...
Did the same odd person write most of these posts?
Madison THUGS can't live there anymore
I'll take credit card skimmers over murders, rape, car jackings, burglaries, theft, etc. any day of the week.
Have fun in Jacktown baby boy!
