Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement to JJ:
RCSO received a called regarding domestic violence off of White Road in Florence. Once on scene, it was determined not to be a domestic but was actually a call of a man acting dangerous and threatening others. Deputies responded to the call but he left prior to their arrival. He was spotted and stopped by responding deputies on White Road. Summerlin acted as if he was going to flee but eventually stopped. Once stopped, he backed into a deputy's vehicle. Summerlin was subsequently tased by deputies in order to take him into custody. One of our deputies was stuck by an exposed hypodermic needle while effecting the arrest on Summerlin. The deputy will be taken to a local hospital for testing and treatment if needed. Summerlin is being charged with simple assault on LEO, disorderly conduct, and possible DUI other substance. Summerlin is 39 years old.
Duuuuh, which way did he go, George? |

The meth problem is rapidly growing in Rankin county. It is rumored that a person working for the sheriff's office is warning some meth producers when and where there is going to be a raid.
Bumps into a cop car while backing up - Media states 'Rammed a cop car'. Oh, the drama!
Growing? It has grown, bloomed, re-seeded and sprouted new shoots. Ever heard of a little place called Robinhood? Heck, just a few years ago homes in Robinhood came with a starter meth lab kit.
6:36, it has spread quite a bit with the help of the sheriff's dept.
