And they say Hinds County is bad... At least 911 picks up the phone. LEAVE RANKIN COUNTY NOW
Hacker or something more benign?
Definitely a major power failure caused it. There was a loud pop that sounded like a transformer blowing very near the sheriff's offices between 2:00 and 2:30 pm today.
Probably something to do with the brush fires. Either the system is overwhelmed with callers, or the fires have burned some component. But really, this could be a good thing, since it will allow discovery and elimination of the vulnerability, before another disaster, like a tornado, strikes.

Fortunately it's in Rankin. Can you imagine if it was down in Madison (Canton) or Hinds (everywhere)?
Blame Obama, like they do everything else, except all the new businesses in Rankin area..
People in rankin have phones?
Crime wave in Rankin Co. after this report! The masses from Hinds County flocked next door.
"I" stands for incompetence . . .
5:56 said, "And they say Hinds County is bad... At least 911 picks up the phone.". Actually, a few years ago I was in Jackson and witnessed a traffic accident. I immediately called 911 on my cell phone. No one answered. After a few minutes, I gave up.
Maybe people need to learn a new concept.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES !!!
Hinds 911 was down last week wasn't it? Is someone targeting 911 call centers? Maybe clowns.... yeah, I blame the clowns...
I blame Trump.
