A Rankin County realtor is serving five years in prison after he was convicted of his fourth DUI last year.
Pete Allman was convicted of his fourth-offense DUI on August 26, 2022. However, Allman managed to hit for the cycle as he was arrested for not one but two DUI's on the same day in 2020.A Rankin County grand jury indicted Allman in August 2020 for two separate DUI arrests on May 16, 2020. The indictment included a count of third offense DUI as Allman already had two DUI convictions in 2018.
Allman pleaded guilty to 3rd offense DUI on February 22, 2021. The Court sentenced him to serve five years in prison but allowed Allman to serve his sentence under house arrest. Allman apparently forgot everything and learned nothing because:
Days after imposition of the sentence, but before the end of the term, the Defendant violated the terms of ISP by consuming alcohol at the Fannin Lanes .Bowling Alley while in the ISP program. Officer Otis Craig with MDOC testified in court that the Defendant violated house arrest and must serve his time.
The court said Allman "poses a special danger to the community. The Court altered his sentence so the prison terms ran consecutive to each other as well as any other sentences. Allman was ordered to enter an alcohol rehab program in Greenwood. The Court also ordered him to install an "ignition lock" on his vehicle.
However, there was the matter of the 2021 DUI arrest. A Rankin County grand jury indicted Allman in March 2021 for a Felony DUI-4th Offense and sentence enhancement of a non-violent habitual offender.
He was arrested for the DUI on September 19, 2021. Allman pleaded guilty to the indictment on August 26, 2022. The Court sentenced Allman to serve 10 years in prison. He is not eligible for early release or parole until he has served at least 3 years of his sentence. The requirements for the ignition lock and rehab program remained in place. He is not eligible for an unrestricted license for ten years after release. He can only drive vehicles equipped with the ignition lock for ten years. If he does not obtain the devices, the Court ordered the "impoundment or immobilization" of the unequipped vehicles.
MDOC records state Allman's release is scheduled for October 10, 2025.

How on earth.....
How
do you get TWO DUIS in the SAME DAY
A cop told me yesterday it happens more than you think. Said nurses lead that category. ;-)
Nurses drinking??? My sister-in-law is a nurse. We didn't even know she drank until she sobered up.
He needs rehab, not jail.
Experience from 20 years ago and 30 years before that, between County Attorneys, judges and lack of case status reviews by arresting agencies, it would make you sick how many cases drop through the cracks. Arresting officers, if worth their salt, follow up on languishing cases. But in do so, they enter a strata of lawyers, politicians and local gentry that can impact one’s career. Just sayin.
I wonder if he is a practicing alcoholic? There have to be a few hit-and-runs in his driving history that he got away with.
He needs to stay in for at least ten years. Obviously he has no will power and probably no desire to do right when he is out. Hopefully, and when/if he gets out, he will only do himself in not taking another poor soul(s) with him.
I would probably need to get drunk after analyzing the cost of the initial DUI.
So I kind of get it.
He "developed" our neighborhood and I guess most of the neighborhoods down Hugh Ward Blvd. He did a lot of questionable things. I thought he was on crack. Turns out he was just drunk.
alcohol kills-
He was likely intoxicated while driving clients to homes for sale, and dozens of times.
He was only out on the road because another wimpy judge sentenced him to house arrest. In the metro area the crime problem is mostly the result of these cowardly berobed cuckolds that never met a sentence they could not suspend or otherwise abate.
I'm just surprised that Rankin ever allowed the Hugh Ward Rollercoaster to be developed by these guys. I'm even more surprised his car did not leap off into those pine trees on all the bumps.
And the flooding.... but, that's another MS real estate developer favorite. Build in Yazoo clay, on flood plains and in drainage areas, then have Uncle Sam and middle class taxpayers subsidize the losses. Not that they even owned that land by the time it was built out. Lots of low rent stick houses up in there.
But it's ALman, one L, isn't it? Or is their sign and website wrong?
Love the liquor store sponsor ad popping up.
Amazing how much money and jailtime and Uber will save you.
Alman(one L) is the definition of Rankin County Redneck who thinks he is above the law. Always has been an arrogant drunk. Wasn't he on the board of directors or one of the owners that siphoned millions in tax breaks and TIF money off of that Pinelands development at Hugh Ward and Lakeland? There were bonds sold for improvements in 2017 and TIF Bonds in 2014 for a shopping center that never happened. That land is now owned by local Southern Sky Reefer Moguls.
Wonder if he was compliant with his required RE Commission CE credits?
"Obviously he has no will power. . ."
Alcoholic here. Coming up on 35+ years of sobriety. If I had to depend on will power I would have never made it this long. There are Twelve Steps that have kept me sober all these years.
The person who made the quoted remark obviously has no understanding of the disease of alcoholism.
Will and I don't get along too well.
@11:16
No. He needs JAIL, not REHAB. You essentially get a get outta jail free card for the first DUI. You pay a fine and might get two days in the pokey. You get ten days plus a bigger fine for the second one. There is no provision in the law to allow for rehab in lieu of a fine or jail. A lot of defendants take advantage of rehab following the first or second DUI. The 3rd DUI (and the 4th if you are this guy) are deemed felonies since you have already demonstrated you don’t give a sh!t about anybody else’s life.
Maybe if he lived down the street from where you and your children live and play, you would reconsider your insipid rehab comments.
1:00 PM, it's hard to believe anyplace could have been more haphazardly "developed" than was Jackson - until one goes to Rankin County. I can remember, though, how nice Jackson was - once upon a time. More recently, I remember a now-lost Los Angeles, and Portland, and Seattle. Even Manhattan, now, is being deliberately destroyed.
That we're having to make-do, now, with these patched-together Flight Destination Exurbs (having been driven from once-wonderful cities we helped to build) should offer a clue as to what awaits us.
The headline says 5 years but 10 years is mentioned later. I may have overlooked or misread, which is it?
@1:59
Yeah I never smoked cigarettes and never drank liquor. I knew right away both were poison. Maybe I’m just more intelligent than drunks and smokers? You can be proud of quitting. But you were absolutely responsible ever starting!
@2:00pm - the ramifications go further than that on the first. I know five people personally who can never go to Canada now because of DUI convictions. It's a black mark you don't ever want on your record and if you've had a slew of them... well shit. That's just a whole new unique flavor of stupid.
Imagine he still has his RE Brokers License. Being a RE Broker & Alcoholic kinda go hand-in-hand. Have you ever been to a Realtors or Homebuilders Association meeting?
Hey September 7, 2023 at 11:16 AM-What if he drives through an intersection and kills your family? Think you'd still recommend rehab, not jail? Do tell.
He needs Christ in his life. Not Jail.
He needs forgiveness and live at this rough time in his life.
Hey, 4:11....... his real estate license should not be renewed, according to state law, having a felony conviction. see title 73, chapter 35.
4:18 wrote: "What if he drives through an intersection and kills your family?"
Should we lock up people for speeding or running stop signs? They could kill someone just as dead as a drunk driver.
To be clear, I'm NOT equating 4th-offense DUI with a traffic violation, but just pointing out the flawed logic of worst-case, "what if it was your family" hypothetical questions.
2:42….you sure are quick to throw stones. Saying you’re more intelligent than 1:59. How do you know you’re more intelligent? 1:59 has been sober for 35 years and that’s great. People like him can tell others of the dangers of alcohol just as an electrician can tell you the dangers of electricity. It’s not the same but both opinions can save your life. Take note that I said both are not alike. So what is your contribution to the world? Boy, there are some people that can say some dang stupid things because they think that since they didn’t drink or smoke they are perfect. That doesn’t make you a saint brother. I knew people like you and no one wanted to be around them. Not because they weren’t “fun” per say but because they could shut down a room of happiness with their so called self righteousness.
5:19 says "He needs Christ, not jail?"
BS. Total lie. That's NOT Biblical or church teaching. NOWHERE is it acceptable to be a knowing drunkard in Scripture or church teachings. And lots of folks get religion in jail. Our martyrs were in jail. WTH are you saying???
In fact, the Catechism of the Catholic Church (to appease the drunks who will blame Baptists for being teetotalers, in theory, as Catholics have been known to have a glass of wine or two, one would say) says:
" The virtue of temperance disposes us to avoid every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, or medicine. Those incur grave guilt who, by drunkenness or a love of speed, endanger their own and others’ safety on the road, at sea, or in the air.”
CCC 2290
Being a drunkard is a mortal sin. Grave guilt. Not a free pass.
Christians can have Christ in jail, too. It's not mutually exclusive, and this guy has both sinned and committed crimes that endanger others, and cannot be given endless passes.
He will not be forgiven if he does not confess his mortal sins nor change.
1) "He needs Christ in his life. Not Jail.
He needs forgiveness and live at this rough time in his life. "
Absolutely, of course. AFTER he serves the maximum sentence.
2) 4:18 - how many victims of drunk drivers have YOU declared dead? Zero, right? Then STFU. I have had to explain to family members their loved one is DOA due to some drunk's choice to drive while impaired. I am certain you have no idea what that is like for them.
It appears that some of the commenters on this post were intoxicated when they posted their comments.
4:11 Apparently, you haven't
Pete is not a Realtor. He doesn't even have an active real estate license. No, the two are not synonymous either. So, the title is incorrect.
Curious as to the impetus of the post since this seems to be old news.
I grew up with him and knew him well, we spent lots of time together during that time. Pete's daddy always bailed him out of trouble it was every one's fault but Pete's. Most of us grew up but Pete for some reason could not. He could get away with anything in Rankin County with Daddy's connections. Now that Daddy is gone Pete can't skate any longer. Jail is the safest place for Pete and the community. Enjoy your three hots and a cot Pete.
Hey September 7, 2023 at 8:12 PM, so you WOULD recommend rehab for the drunk drivers of your DOA victims? Re-read my post dude. You make no sense. And yes, I have dealt with many DOA. You need to refresh your reading comprehnsion skills, Mr. RCSO Deputy.
11:55 I don't think he said or meant that at all.
8:12 I thought your comment was convincing even if you had not felt the need to use the insulting little STFU. Can't understand how seeming intelligent people want to insert that into any kind of response... it makes one look small.
No drivin' and drankin' in stankin' Rankin!
1:59- you have the mindset of a weakling. Man up and take responsibility for your addiction.
The biggest POS in the world built me a "house" off of hugh ward... THEN..broke INTO IT, 3 DAYS AFTER WE CLOSED!!! We had not moved in, yet (..gas leaks, blk mold, wrong ev.thg, you name it). Broke in, & left us a NOTE - smthg ab the utilities or smthg. I'm STILL mad as hell ab. it, though, and I hated that builder's guts. What is that, 'Burglary?" What are the S.O.L.'s? Could I still have him arrested?
Will power cannot overcome alcoholism long-term.
Stated another way, one can't fix a problem with the same mind that created it.
I suspect those prescribing will power as the cure are currently applying that same treatment to their own problem, and are sure they have it licked. If so, please report back in a year or so and share the results your personal case study with us, so we can add it to the millions of others who have first-hand knowledge of will power's inadequacy for overcoming alcoholism.
9:31 PM, what makes you believe will power cannot overcome alcoholism? I got five DUIs. Got two in one month. That was twelve years ago. I decided that was a problem so I stopped drunk driving.
"Arresting officers, if worth their salt, follow up on languishing cases."
Allow me to be the first to tell you that arresting officers don't perform and are not responsible for 'languishing case' follow-up.
It’s about time he gets arrested. His drinking habits have been pushed under the rug by the City Officials in Flowood for over a decade now. This man was given rides home because of his status in Flowood. I’m glad he was put away before he severely hurt someone or worse.
