Instead of making some snarky comment questioning anyone manhood I will just say I wish I could afford fine things like this. I work from home and just wear crocs with socks. But that’s some fine looking leather.
I have family in Hilo. So when I go somewhere tropical, it is Hawaii. Can someone tell me what 30A is?
Great looking shoes but there are more important things in life than shoes and keeping up with 30A people and whoever they may be…many of those properties were foreclosed during the 2008 housing screw up. I had some crocs and they were Allen Edmonds made of real Crocodile and guess what? They weren’t as good as my Thorogood Work boots at $350. They were not comfy at all and I had to go to Dallas to get them. Waste of time and money
Shell Cordovan is made of muscle fiber in Shell shaped pieces from the rump of a horse. Exquisite shoe material.
Even if I could splurge for the shoes, I couldn't afford the additional 20 to 50 Grand to fly to NYC to order a complimentary bespoke outfit from an Italian tailor.
Plus I gotta wear steel toed Doc Martin's just to know I can kick ass if necessary in Walmart and it's threatening parking lot where I have been hustled by a ho and chased by a car jackin gangsta.
Just don't use the Docs made in China. Rose Anvil had a field day with them. ;-)
luckily my employer lets me work from home 100% so I don't have to wear dress shoes
My pretentious neighbors up and down Sheffield and brackenshire will love this kind of junk
I would not wear any of those over priced footwear. Plus you would need a $5,000 Armani suit or sport coat to go with the leather. Do they not understand that tennis shoes are the style!
So its safe to assume "30A"
Is Northwest Florida's, a.k.a The Redneck Riveria, version of South Beach
An ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure
I have a few pair of Allen Edmonds shoes and boots, no shell cordovan yet but maybe if I buy another suit… they are great shoes and many are made in the U.S.A.
I really want some of those shoes.
I also want a real Thompson Submachine gun.
Also a genuine flapper girl.
And a Duesenberg Model J.
to 6:28 you forgot to mention the classic Porsche 911 w/6 spd manual not the upgraded automatic≥
30A is where the Madison County fundamentalists take their mistresses to heavily mortgaged condos for the weekend when they say they are going to conventions.
Brotha, please. If it ain’t I-talian bespoke, I just say nope.
Proof a fool and his money are soon parted.
So, it’s time to unbox those twice-worn 1976 Florsheim Imperials, cordovan, and compare to the AE selections.
@6:28
A Thompson is 20-65k, flapper girls are easy. Duesenberg Model J? You’re gonna have to save up for that one.
Holy hell this site is full of dudes who wear cargo shorts to church. Learn to dress yourselves and step up your style, for Pete's sake! I am amazed at grown men who brag about wearing Crocs to accentuate their PFG boneheads and sneer at $250 dress shoes while spending $250 on a pair of cheap ass Costa del Mar shades.
I just bought a pair of Grant Stone boots and love them. I get more compliments on them, especially from women. Take some pride in your appearance, Bubba.
Oh, and no one buys designer suits anymore. A nice suit these days is made to measure and cost way less than $5000, but I guess someone who wears Carhartt hoodies and cutoff sweat pants like John Fetterman getting dressed for the Senate wouldn't know about such things.
Nice. Didn’t realize Kingfish was so fashionable.
And I thought 200$ was to high for Justin Ropers or Red Wings
Those look like something Chokwe would wear.
Clothes, women and money don't make a man but, they do make him look good.
Hell, we won't need these in the nursing home but, I'm getting me a pair.
I bought two pair of A-E's in the early 1980's. I put shoe trees in them as soon as I take them off and I keep them shined. They are forty years old and they look great.
8:08 sums it all up.
You goobs who sit around the house in your underwear and wearing Crocs, working from home, will look up one day and be sorry.
When you isolate yourself from the reality of the real world, you first become neurotic, then psychotic. First thing you know, you're punching holes in walls and your wife is meeting some guy for lunch every day.
But you're gonna get the same result if your life revolves around lusting after expensive shoes.
I much prefer the white shoes Cousin Eddie gave Clark.
Thanks for the heads up! Got the Higgins mill boot in natural, same ones shown above. Now we wait 9 weeks of crafting. Luckily I had just enough room on my credit card to charge.
You've got the platinum trophy sporting a three carat ring and appropriate fillers
Am I wrong for preferring the sporty brunette tomboy with b-cups who is high IQ and is actually fun to be with?
I wish shoes like this were made for women. It's hard for professional women to find classic, well-made leather dress shoes.
Meanwhile, Congress has imposed a dress code, thank goodness.
I love nice shoes but these are not my style. But I bought a pair of Red Wing chuckas and couldn't be happier. Expensive for me but they may outlast my remaining years here.
Wear or be a horse's ass is the apparent choice some here make. Mostly attorneys dress up in Shell Cordovan (equestrian leather).
This sounds just like that “y’all lifestyle” some fella on the radio round here is always blabbing about. What a lame.
G.
I have no problem with someone who goes to 30A but someone who goes and puts a 30A decal on their car is pathetic.
"And a Duesenberg Model J."
Made me think. I read an article the other day and the vehicle most driven by millionaires is still.....wait on it.....the F150 Ford pickup.

I wish my wife was meeting someone for lunch everyday. Let somebody else deal with her.

OK, here's where I jump in. I lost interest in my husband's shoe closets, decades back - about the time I stopped finding clothing for him, at the old Steinmart Saks Sales, in Greenville. He never bought Armani. I bought it FOR him, because we were young and poor, and pennies-on-the-Dollar was all we could afford.
Nothing makes an athletically-built guy look better than does Armani. And Armani's suits wear like iron.
Armani delivers a fantastic product FOR THE MONEY. The same can be said for Allen Edmonds. They're considered BARGAIN BRANDS. But Armani and Allen Edmonds should not be worn together. Edmonds is for guys who look "All American". They're part of the Anglo-American clothing tradition (aka 'Trad'). Armani is for 'Exotics' like my husband, who looks distinctly 'Mediterranean' (he graduated to Brioni, many years ago). Sleek, Italian or Spanish loafers, are what he normally pairs with his Italian suits.
From what I'm remembering, guys who buy Allen Edmonds, order their suits at Norman Hilton and Southwick trunk shows - or buy 'Trad' suits off-the-rack, at Great Scott and The Rogue (or Barney's or Wilkes Bashford or the ubiquitous Nordstrom). My old Mississippi friends' husbands (who've graduated to Oxxford suits), pair them with shoes from Alden (traditionally, the only 'All American' step up from Edmonds). But they're white, which DH and I are not. And Alden seems to be having production problems, while Edmonds seems to be transcending labor issues.
But you COULD pair Oxxford with Edmonds, and you'd be OK. Armani's signature Wool Crepe will not mix with the highly tactile qualities of Edmonds. Too, the cuts/lines/silhouettes are incompatible.
As for your post, I'd like to point-out that "The Style" is irrelevant in venues like courtrooms. And "...any of those over priced footwear.", should be changed to, "...any of that overpriced footwear.".
As for Kingfish's description of the crowd who're currently wearing Allen Edmonds, I'm confused. Are those people being mocked? In a way, the description is accurate (although I'm wondering about the jewelry), in that it describes Second Tier types who'd probably dress in Second Tier Trad.
The shell boots probably go fine with jeans.
The post was written tongue in cheek.
12:32: Alden having problems probably because of that $30 million embezzlement. Small family-owned company. That had to hurt.
