I grew up down the street from the wife. The family was fundamentalist, Christian….women can’t wear pants, no makeup, no tv etc. Thought the rest of us were hell bound for wearing bathing suits and listening to rock music. .

I'll wait for a verdict, but I guess they'll all make pleas. I know of an instance where a defendant and his family knew the wife's accusations of molestation were false but his attorney counseled him to plead anyway because juries are so biased against these charges. He did plead and drew 20 years; may be out by now, I don't know.

I am glad this family has finally been exposed. Take care of your children and don't trust strangers since what makes one think we can trust family members in this case. We have zero information as to the actual activities of the parents that warranted their arrest. Aren't you Holier-than-Thou jurors sort of jumping the judgment-gun here?

Sex with a minor in this state is not going to warrant the death penalty.

Maybe there's a reason that those thousands of Rabbis and Imams in Mississippi don't get press exposure. They are, both, less than 1% of the population.

Every preacher, priest or minister who has ever committed adultery has whined to his victims that God expects him to enjoy a 'release' in order to relieve tension. Isn't that what Jimmy Swaggart told his participants in what Mel Tillis called 'Commercial Affection'?

That is because Rabbis, Imams, or other non-Christians rarely committ sex crimes including apparent incest as in this case. The dangerous place for a child is in a fundamentalist church, "Christian" school, or other places where these types are predators hang out and "groom" children.

Are their people who use the name of Christianity to satisfy their own evil desires. Absolutely, they are evil and will use any means to satisfy their evil desires.

I guess those the people here lumping the devout as "Bible thumpers" need to tell the Baptists, Salvation Army, UMCOR, and Catholic Charities to quit showing up after hurricanes and tornadoes. Over indulging a child isnt' liberal or political, it's lazy parenting. More than a few politically conservative parents' children end up on this site. The body language and facial expression can be a hint to the observant. If that person is seeking out the same child and staring at them in a group setting, be alert. If the person spends more time in activities with or contact with children than with adults. be alert. Notice excessive touching. Listen to comments, if a father of your daughters friend says " your daughter is 'hot' or makes crude sexual observations about your daughter or his" it's a huge warning. If you hear he sleeps with his own child because " they have " nightmares" and his wife needs " her rest", be alert. Anytime a male sees underage boys or girls as sexual objects, or initiates selecting or insisting on clothing and physical alterations to make their child look more sexually appealing, be alert. Same sex help is not worrisome. But, mother to son and father to daughter enhancement is worrisome.
But, the worst problem is that those of you who are appalled and who rant the most afterward, didn't want to be " involved" when interviewed by me, you certainly wouldn't testify even if you saw or heard something that made you concerned. Your one thing may not be suspicious but in removing the child to keep them safe, cummulative observations help in court and later to convict.
We continue to be very good about hating criminals of all kinds, but totally uninterested in keeping children from becoming criminals. We "get it" with animals...the animals that are starved and beaten and abused either cower are become savage and often have are too many scars to be loved or saved. You don't except animals to turn out well if you don't feed them or provide shelter or train them to do whatever they do best for you. But,not children are their parents " property". And,most of you who need to feel control more than love just pegged this conservative as a liberal. Instead of jumping to a wrong conclusion, at least, those of who profess to be Christians should revisit The Sermon on the Mount. Neither Jesus nor any religious leader other than a later male follower seeking power and control, ever suggested some of the nonsense some males have decided to inject into society and politics. You listen to successful animal experts but not to experts in criminology or human behavior nor do you even know or teach your children how to react if when they encounter a predator. You don't want to believe you are "exceptional" and not really a part of the human race and you have no vulnerabilities to human weaknesses. If that's you, you're the problem. I I went to a Christian school is Jackson. I was bullied for being innocent about “ways of the world.” Many of the girls in my class were secretly abused by a female coach. Academics were not a priority but Bible was taught where the students played poker during class. It became a dumping ground for students rejected from other schools for a variety of reasons. My parents made sure I was never alone with faculty members. I left the school and it eventually went out of business. So yes, hard line charismatic preachers usually have an agenda!!
