It's like GD Fallujah or Mogadishu.
This shit only happens in majority liberal democrat cities with more leeches and parasites than taxpayers.
Thanks liberal democrat party!

wow. I was on 220 yesterday. This could have been me!

It could be worse 7:37 PM. In California the state will let you out of jail even if you can't make the bail. What's the point in having consequences for your actions?

Anonymous said...

They must have just left the M -Bar

Hey dumb ass at 8:11, you do understand bail is merely is guarantee appearance - not a punishment. Guess you are mad at the feds for low bails like $10,000. Difference is that there system works, relatively speaking. California gets it while your backward ass doesn’t have a clue. And no, dumb ass 7:37, this is not a liberal city issue. It’s a competent government issue.

11:07 - Did you really intend to mention 'competent government' in relation to a Jackson story? It's real apparent who the 'backwards ass dumb ass' is.

I've read this blog for years and never posted a comment but 11:07 thanks for the laugh...."California gets it"

@11:07 drunk texting/posting is a thing...and usually sloppy and logic challenged...
I literally laughed and I do mean laughed...at your statement "there [sic] system works"
But I guffawed when you (in your obviously inebriated state...and if you were not, I wouldn't admit it were I you) where was I? oh yeah, guffawed...but I Guffawed when even you realized how demonstrably false your statement was when you added the qualifier "relatively speaking"
It's like saying...the water system in Jackson DOES work...relatively speaking (perhaps relative to Mogadishu).
It would be nice if you could avoid name calling and make a sensible argument. I mean, calling someone a dumbass whilst demonstrating said trait is not a winning strategy.
@7:37 please continue triggering...the liberal tears are tasty. You do have a point though...Baltimore, Chicago, Portland et al are experiencing a similar level of competent government to Jackson.

Aisle B Bach said...

@8:11 I understand your frustration but please think through your post lest you provoke @11:07 to post more unintelligible statements...
He's partially correct...but bail is indeed a consequence you may experience when accused of a crime. It does not guarantee your appearance, however, as one could simply jump bail because they are a Dog the Bounty Hunter fan and are seeking his autograph. Bail bondsmen do frown on this activity because it is more profitable for them if the bonded just show up. The accused's appearance takes them off the hook for the other 90% of the bail that Dog would get a percentage of upon the fugitive's capture and return.

Looks like the conservative snowflakes here are “triggered” again because someone said something nice about California. Maybe comments they don’t like should have the same warning that is referenced in your Bill Maher story.

11:07, when did you leave the M-Bar?

Anonymous said...

I was on 220 for the first time in years a few weeks ago. It is pretty much the highway equivalent of the ghetto. One false move and you are doomed.

Aisle B Bach said...

@8:03 I wouldn't say triggered...bemused would be more like it. I am certain that if you look hard enough, someone...somewhere...has probably said nice things about Mogadishu too...

8:11 PM - I've lived in California. The taxes their are obscene. The crime is a plague. The interstates & highway are packed. And the language used is Spanish instead of English. Perversion is a past time. Court attendance rate is 42%. Where the is no law the people suffer.
I moved to Mississippi 2 years ago.

Someone was shot in Jackson? Who would have thought it?

Anonymous said...

The shooter was likely just leaving a gun show, denying climate change, and not wearing a mask.

crackheads....can you say crackheads... where do you find a crackhead? Kick over a rock and you'll find a crackhead.

Remember, Memphis has the same Interstate shut down problems Jackson has. But it has an epidemic of Interstate shootings. 82 in 2020.

Dear Governor Reeves:

It is time for you to appoint a temporary manager of the city of Jackson to regain control over the issues of crime, infrastructure, and education. As an elected official, it is your duty to make changes so that the citizens of Jackson can find relief from these issues which the current mayor and city council refuse to address. Jackson is the seat of the state government, and the center of the state’s largest urban area. It is imperative that Jackson thrives in order for the state to thrive as a whole.

We on this blog can talk until we are red or blue in the face. The governor needs to act. He needs to show a shred of leadership (and a spine) and govern. He’s not just the governor of people who voted for him, but the entire state. The last ten years have seen Jackson slip from bad to downright scary.

I used to work in South Jackson at Saks' information center. One night around Christmas about 4-5 years ago I was driving home on 220. Passing over Watkins, some guy zipped past me doing about 90 and cut in front of me. I flashed my lights 2-3 times at him so he slowed down to match my speed and stuck a 9mm out the window. Didn't point it at me, but scared the sh*t out of me regardless. It made me truly understand how some of these young hoodlums really do not care about the life and well-being of others. Some will at least threaten to shoot you for simply flashing your lights or honking the horn at them for their reckless driving. Be careful out there.

"Perception of Crime."

@8:53

I don't honk my horn at anyone anymore, and rarely flash my lights either. Road rage is real, and idiocy is more real.

I grew up in Jackson. Never really understood the purpose of I220. There's nothing there. Woods and a few hoods. I suppose if you live in Clinton and work in Madison it's helpful but after decades there's still nothing there. If anything a bypass should have been built leading from Rankin county to Madison, not the other way around.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
