So the Capitol Complex averages about $584,492 per year ($48,708 monthly). That's a crapload of water and sewer. They might want to think about conserving a little bit.
@10:41am - A lot of shit comes out of those halls, taxpayers getting shafted on the front and back end.
it's not just plumbing and toilets, we are talking about massive chillers and boilers that use tons of water to heat and cool the buildings.
Come on, guys! It's all about racism! Don't you realize that?
MSTODAY said so!
If Baby Chowke denies that these payments were received, maybe a forensic audit is appropriate to determine where they money went. It seems that it didn't go into the water/sewer infrastructure.
That pays for a lot of trips to Bloomberg conferences and greases a lot of progressive palms.
Perhaps Chad needs to take a look at possible accounting issues with the city. Where are the sensationalizing media outlets? Apppears WLBT/WJTV and the stripped down Clarion-Ledger have their heads in the sand. Too busy investing pot holes and frozen pipes while some jokers are making away with the money.
Should be Shad. He seems to be the only one in the state that is focused on embezzlement by government.
@11:41 - Of course he’s the “only one focused on embezzlement by the government,” literally the reason the Auditor’s office exists...
People call in tips on government embezzlement, Auditor’s office investigates. You think Jim Bob working around the water department is going to go to the news about how he investigated and caught so and so stealing guv funds? Geez.
Let me get this straight, Someone pays almost $50,000 a month for water and YOU state in an interview that they pay nothing. Maybe its just me, but before i made a statement like that, and knowing its going to be published, I would KNOW what i was saying was correct. Somebody be looking deceptive or stupid
@10:51 you are probably correct. I'm the first comment on this thread. I wasn't even thinking about that water usage.
They don't pay for their water! The words came of of His Honor's mouth. What right do you guys have to say they are a lie? Some freedom of information request by a blogger named Kingfish.
Sheesh! You guys act just like you didn't fall off the turnip wagon this morning.
There are, of course, many ways of looking at this issue.
Were I the state administrator, my first question is what am I getting for what I am paying? A bad product (frequently polluted), which sometimes is not delivered, from a vendor who absolutely dumps on me (pun intended). What should I do? Maybe build a large well for the complex, much as the hospitals have done. The cost would probably quickly show a benefit in decreased $50K bills per month, and I wouldn't have dirtbags spewing garbage about me.
It would provide good reliable water and save the taxpayers some money.
The problem with revenue is that most of people in Jackson do not pay their water bill. Having water is a right much like air.
State employees should be limited to one bathroom break per day to save a little money on the liquid gold Jackson water. Just hold it until you get home.
