Twin Peaks announced on Facebook:
It is with a heavy heart, after much consideration, we will regretfully close the Jackson Twin Peaks. To our staff, thank you for your hard work and commitment over the years — we are grateful for your many contributions. To our loyal customers, thank you for your patronage and for allowing us to serve you. To the community of Jackson, thank you for your support — it has been an honor and we appreciate this entire community.
Twin Peaks, Outback gone. Now just Cracker Barrel remains in an area that was once hopping with business.

Will there be anything left in Jackson?
I know this will come as a surprise to some of y’all, but the employees at twin peaks could not have given less of a shit while they were working.
Perhaps Hooters and Twin Peaks are business models that aren't sustainable in any location given the dirty old men crowd are waning. And those located in the "hood" are the first to close.
Will there be anything left in Jackson?
no pun intended, I'm sure...
Gee. I wonder why.
Hey, Choke-way, time for a press conference announcing your plan to fix your water system troubles. Run off residents and businesses and eventually you reduce system demand to a manageable level. You’re brilliant!
Bet Ladumba is glad another capitalistic business is gone from HIS radical city.
Very bad reviews on Yelp.
Yup, and on FB as well.
Shaggies stole a good bit of their help when it opened. Wonder if that had anything to do with the service.
Fortunately the metro doesn’t have the gangster motorcycle gangs that usually frequent Twin Peaks!
As a young lad in my twenties, I eagerly patronized this business when it first opened. Sadly, as the years passed, those Twin Peaks suffered a severe case of erosion and became asymmetric, low-rolling valleys.
I ate lunch there not long ago. It definitely went downhill after Hooters closed and their crowd and waitresses moved a couple of miles up the interstate. The business model works, just not in a place like Jackson.
At 2:59. As a leather-clad, Harley-Davidson cross country riding, party-loving dude, I have a serious question. What the hell are you talking about and what drugs are you on?
"Another Jackson business closes due to gunshows, climate change, and Covid-19." Chowke Lumumba - 2021
I heard all of the waitresses didn't like working there because the patrons didn't tip worth a shit.
Unlikely Chowkey understands that losing a restaurant also hurts the special tax collections for the JCVB and Convention Center.
How many vehicles, especially Ford trucks, were stolen from their parking lot? Many of them were stolen in broad daylight.
Sad to see another Jackson business close but how can even the best places survive when they have to go weeks without water, vagrants roaming parking lots and street corners and rampant crime?
Never dined there. I guess I am a flatlander....
I went there once for lunch. Everyone was drinking beer. I wanted to but had to go back to work. I was concerned my truck would be stolen or at least my gun would be stolen. I enjoyed the food. Similar to an Applebee’s. It just was not something I could enjoy weekly and still go back to work drunk. Their burger was as good as any Wendy’s.
1:30, There are still plenty of dirty young men. Where do think dirty old men come from? You can't neuter us all.
Thanks for keeping us abreast, KF.
Will there be anything left in Jackson...... I’d say so. Walker’s, Saltine, Brent’s, Green Ghost, Babalu, Roosters, Lou’s Full Serve, The Manship, Mayflower, Crechales, Broad Street, Aplos, Char, Bravo, The Fairview, Alladin,Sal and Mookies, Fine and Dandy, restaurants in Cultivation Hall in The District at Eastover, Basils, Pig and Pint, Barrel House, Dumbos, Mr. Chen’s, Iron Horse Grill, Parlor Market, Crazy Cat, Hickory Pit, El Charro not to mention coffee shops like Sneaky Beans and Cups and bakeries like Campbells and LaBrioche. All outstanding local restaurants employing local residents. Cue the “I’ll carry my Glock” crowd (a favorite JJ expression) in 3, 2, 1... Maybe you need to get out more often. There’s more out there than all you can eat catfish buffets and Barnhill’s.
For a city boasting a population over 150K
That’s really sad
And where do YOU live? Please, give us a list of outstanding local restaurants (that mean no chains) in YOUR town. Asking for a friend (a favorite JJ expression). I’ll wait - another JJ fav.
10"58 - you evidently don't get out much. The list that 841 gave (which still missed a few good local places - Martins, Elvies, Old Tavern, Aladins, City Limits, Keifers, Feniens, it could go on.... ) are all located in the part of the city that is about 30,000 population. If you wanted to cover the entire 150K, the list would be much longer. But, think 841 got the point across pretty damn well.
King - add Luby's and Fuddruckers and Logan's and Shrimp Basket and Burgers & Blues(?) to the list of closures.
But at least Cap'n D's will have dine-in next week.
@11:38PM We consistently have clean, running water where I live. Guess I'm picky that way when it comes to eating out.
3:24...boobs. He's talking about boobs.
@7:55 PM - so you are one of the irresponsible gun owners who leave a handgun in your vehicle? Please, spend $15 at Academy Sports for a lock box with a cable that you can secure to the seat frame.
Why would a 'waitress' leave Twin Peaks for Shaggy's? Not much motorcycle or crotch-rocket parking there.
Do y’all use your brain much?
Will there be anything left in Jackson...... I’d say so
Jackson...... not the population of a single zip code where most of those restaurants don’t exist
The restaurant that closed was indeed a chain restaurant
Kansas City has a smaller population, smaller land mass and 10x the number of restaurants listed in this thread
Don’t forget M-Bar
They have an outdoor shooting range AND a hands-off approach from the Jackson Police Department
I’m sorry some of y’all won’t have a place to go and hug young women anymore, but that place sucked.

Half your list is in ridgeland
Better food and service would have helped
Kansas City has fewer people than Jackson? Seriously?
I think you're mixing up Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. That's like mixing up Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas. Trump made that mistake when he congratulated the Chiefs on their 2020 Super Bowl win as being from the "Great State of Kansas", and he got hammered for it.
KCK is merely a suburb of Kansas City, and they benefit greatly from the greater Kansas City metro, which is somewhere over 2 million people. Comparing them with Jackson is dumb.
And Twin Peaks was garbage long before Shaggy's came to town. I went in 2017 and the service was the only thing worse than the food. And for waitresses you're supposed to want to look at, there wasn't much to see.
It was great for the first few years. Then the demographics changed and the non tippers came in and waitresses that no one wants to look at soon followed. The constant crime in the area was the nail in the coffin.

I didn’t mix anything up. KCMO has a much higher population than Jackson. Why would you assume the comment referenced KCMO? Deflecting much?
If you don’t understand the comparison, you don’t even understand your attempted argument
" Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. That's like mixing up Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas. "
A perfect analogy.
If anyone thinks the Civil War is still being fought in Mississippi,
think again.
Take a drive through that part of the USA. Mississippi looks like a peaceful land of milk and honey.
My God, those people still hate each other in East Kansas & West Missouri.
And I'm not talking about a college football rivalry.
I thought that show went off the air years ago!!!!??
Why would you assume the comment referenced KCMO?
Because when anyone refers to simply Kansas City they are talking about Missouri. Even people in Kansas City refer to the smaller city as KCK.
It's like getting called out for saying Miami is smaller than Jackson and then saying, "I meant Miami, Ohio...Why would you think I meant the one in Florida?"
If you don't understand why any logical, sane person would assume Kansas City, Missouri based upon your phrasing, not much I can do to help you.
Its A VICIOUS circle. Waitresses make places like this and a lot of restaurants. People tip poorly the waitresses leave the customers leave.
Sigh. Who else has draft beer that cold around here?
With the advent of GPS phone tracking, men don't go to sleaze-joints to look at plastic tits any more. Cougars pretty much put a stop to that.
"...business models that aren't sustainable in any location given the dirty old men crowd are waning..."
When one is waning, another is waxing. Take yourself, for example.
PS: Crowd IS - Not crowd ARE.
Is Scrooges still open behind that area?
Only in Chowkey's Jackson will further tax loss be seen as a positive development.
