The city of Jackson issued the following press release:
Neighborhood Paving Begins as Part of Operation Orange Cone
As
part of the Operation Orange Cone initiative, the City of Jackson on
Monday, Nov. 7, began work to pave nine neighborhood streets, using $1.8
million in Community Development
Block Grant funding. On Monday, crews were paving on Barbara Ann Drive.
The list of streets scheduled for paving:
- Dovewood Drive (from Woody Drive to Wooddell Drive)
- Woodview Drive (from Woody Drive to Wooddell Drive)
- Dorgan Street (from McDowell Road to Castle Hill Drive)
- Flowers Drive (from Dorgan Street to Dianne Drive)
- Dianne Drive (from Flowers Drive to Maria Drive)
- Maria Drive (from Dianne Drive to Woodside Drive)
- Barbara Ann Drive (from McDowell Road to Maria Drive)
- Catalina Drive (from Ventura Drive to Catalina Circle)
- Catalina Circle (from Catalina Drive to Catalina Drive)

All south Jackson streets? The mayor is serving his base!
1:10 - CDBG funding, when not used for disaster recovery purposes, is intended for areas of slum and blight and for people of low to moderate income. Hence all south Jackson streets.
7:14 - correct. But in addition to the low and moderate income, there is an economic portion as well. Thus, South Jackson rather than inner city Jackson.
