We got us an election tomorrow in District 72. Three contenders fight to join the madness that is called the Mississippi Legislature.
First we have Debra Gibbs, wife of noted Jackson Attorney Robert Gibbs:
Then there is Synarus Green. He is the son of Tomie Green, former liason to the Bennie, and the Director of Policy & Government Affairs for the City of Jackson.
Last we have Theresa Kennedy.

Strange looking district.
There is one other candidate running as a conservative. I voted for her. Doubt she has a chance, though. I was the second person to vote at my precinct at 8:00 am. My guess is Green leads them to a runoff.
A district that violates more redistricting criteria than one can count.
From the looks of that map, whoever drew the District 72 lines was either a Gerrymandering expert or was on LSD. Or maybe it was drawn by the Gummint to achieve the desired racial voter quota.
Looks like a Benny Thompson District line....
Debra Gibbs is the only one with any kind of serious qualifications... Im sure lying Judge Green has tied herself to Bennie to steal this one
The district will begin to look more normal the further NE Jackson goes down the toilet.
@9:23, you realize NE Jackson isn't in that district, right?
@9:21 actually.. Synarus is a nice guy..... I voted for Debra but they will all vote the same. She has more influence on both sides, Green is just starting but he has a great future
That district shape somewhat resembles Louisiana.
The fix is in on all the districts. Most white, some black, but all are clearly one way or the other. Very few legislative seats are competitive in the general election. This one is no different. Elect new representatives and senators in 2019 if you want to see it changed, but I doubt anyone wants to see it changed.
Who's winning right NOW?
"Who's winning right NOW?"
Charlie Sheen. Try to keep up.
