Lord Protector Jim Hood issued the following statement.
JACKSON—Today, Attorney General Jim Hood announced the arrest of a Byram woman charged with two counts of wire fraud.
Kasandra Michelle Floyd, 36, turned herself in to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday. She is a licensed Mississippi insurance agent accused of producing fake copies of Safeway Insurance Company insurance cards and transmitting them by wire across county lines in order for others to use the cards in court as proof of insurance. Floyd’s bond was set at $15,000.
If convicted of both counts, Floyd faces up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines. A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

You would be surprised at how often this happens. Also, there is a certain clientele in MS that buys insurance for a few days, gets the auto ID cards in, then cancels the policy. Rinse and repeat every 6mos to a year.
Ranks right up there with the same 'clientele' who get handicapped placards from their favorite family physician. Although that probably cannot be prosecuted, its still fraud involving a state law.
What ever happened to House Bill 946 which required the Department of Public Safety to have its motor vehicle insurance verification system installed and operational no later than March 1, 2016.
Is this yet another DPS success story?
Why are people allowed to continue to drive after they are stopped and ticketed for not having insurance? They should be arrested and car towed.
Physicians dont issue handicapped placards the tax collector does with appropriate documentation from physician.....but then again there are tax collector employees that will most definitely do the family and friends thing!
1:23 - in Louisiana they used to tow your car and confiscate your tag, I'm not sure if that's still the case...
2:07 - Split all the hairs that make you feel good about yourself. The point I made is that physicians will issue the required paperwork for the blue placard to anybody who requests it if they are a regular 'customer'. Now you can post that the placard is not blue, but blue and white.
