The Central Mississippi Tea Party issued the following press release:
In agreement with one of our basic Principles, “Constitutionally Limited Government” The Ms Tea Party supports HB 130.
Whereas: Constitutionally Limited Government substantiates the right of the individual to make decisions prudent for himself and his family, the basic building block of civil Society,
Whereas: The principles set forth in the Sacred Documents, the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness demand that we exercise our God-given rights of Individual liberty guided by personal responsibility,
Whereas: Associations of Big Pharma and State Government has diminished this free exercise to make prudent decisions for self-regulation, medical prerogatives for healthy living, and individual freedom,
Whereas, We (the Ms Tea Party) have seen increasing encroachment of government to remove individual freedom in preference to the “Common Good” (a Socialist argument) even when the posit is not substantially proven and even disproven in other States,
Whereas: Scientific investigations have shown that Mississippi is the most heavily vaccinated population in the U.S. by demand of the Ms Department of Health,
Whereas: Appearing in news reports that the CDC is preventing evidence of Vaccination injury, reactions such as autism, seizure disorders, and deaths are being suppressed to prevent necessary public awareness resulting in less than informed consent to parental rights for their children
Whereas: Ms Department of Health exercises inordinate pressure on physicians and clinics to heavy vaccination schedules, sometimes in contradiction to prudent “best practices”,
The Ms Tea Party calls on the Ms Legislature to review carefully HB 130 to protect children, families and liberty in Mississippi.
May God SAVE America

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

What a surprise. It's a shame these folks are promoting increasing the risks of epidemics of all sorts of childhood diseases with potentially serious consequences and increased health care costs, especially when their position is based on bad science, fear and irrationality. We had virtually eradicated a number of these diseases. Now we are going to run the risk of bringing them back based on a misplaced understanding of our rights.
We need to build a fence around Jones County? No one in, no one out. These people have too much Kool-Aid.
No need for vaccines....your colander hat will protect you...
So much for domestic tranquillity.
I'm beginning to think they are getting funding from ISIS.
The only upside is that they will reduce their progeny if this passes.
People with good sense will still vaccinate.
Has Chris McDaniel had his shots? Or, is this just a no-no for other people?
Could someone please tell me why the people that want a smaller government never want to decrease social security, medicare, or defense spending?
While we are at it, let's get rid of all government intrusion in our life. No traffic laws, allow drankin' and drivin', throw grandma out of the Medicaid funded nursing home, no govt limits on age for drinking, marriage, etc. if we gonna demand freedom, let's have absolute freedom. We know better than big guvment what is best for us. God bless America and our right to be free.
Well, if you live in deep dark woods and shun the rest of the world and your only interaction with society is your militia or klavern then vaccinations really aren't that big of a deal.
Idiots-all of them, and McDaniel in particular. He's toast in MS politics.
Good news is that only stupid people will get sick, or children of stupid people, and hopefully, when they're watching their child in agony, with severe rashes, and fever that might create secondary issues, etc., they might rethink their position.
These people are out of the dark ages. Bet those people who battled the plague would have been lined up to get a vaccine.
Affluence is killing us! Gives stupid people too much time to think about stupid things.
2 things. This is a reminder to self: I Hate the Tea Party; 2) Bill Billingsley and other McNuts acolytes: you made your deal with the Devil. Now live wih the fallout.
Question -- Did Laura and Chris vaccinate their children? If so, would they again?
What a monster the GOP has allowed in their midst. The GOP had a long proud tradition. Now that is being hijacked by these nutjobs. Please GOP denounce these people for who they are!!
"One general law, leading to the advancement of all organic beings, namely, multiply, vary, let the strongest live and the weakest die."
Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species
Tea Partiers, Vaxers, and McDanielites take note....
That woman and her followers are completely mad! This is the same group who wanted same stated horrible over-reaching government to hide gun records from the public. Forgive us father for we have sinned!
>>>Good news is that only stupid people will get sick, or children of stupid people,<<<
Actually, you are mistaken. These anti science anti vaxxers put everyone at risk including those with the proper vaccinations.
Here is a link to an explanation of how this is the case. Both in theory, and as proven in an actual epidemic among the highly religious.
Herd Immunity Catastrophe: We are ALL at risk because of anti-vaxers
That's all fine, just keep your kids away from mine. Maybe the Bomgar's will start a homeschool for the unvaccinated.
11:43. Don't forget now they are in Madison County. Billingsly and Bomgar are both straight-up Tea Party nuts and now they want to be elected to office. Bomgar has recruited 3 Tea Party crazies to run against elected GOP legislators in Desoto. Tea Party nuts work against the GOP. They are no better than democrats and will be treated as such. Anyone supporting these fools will be called out. We will have your names from mail outs and contribution lists. Starting with the campaign people Josh Gregory, Quinton Dickerson and Tona Becker. You have made your bed in the Tea Party now that your helping Bomgar. You are no longer recognized as republicans. From now on you are democrats.
Why anybody would have a beef with Mr. Bomgar is beyond me. Why not just air your issues instead of taking pot shots? What has he done other than start a great company from a dorm room and create a lot of much needed tech jobs in the area. And I suspect his kids got their shots, not sure why you are painting him in such a light.
@2:47....That he has already done. It's called Bomgar's Home School.
Cookoo birds of a feather...
Update December 1, 2015. 16:24 CST ATLANTA (AP)
The CDC in Atlanta, GA. announced today of a new disease threatening the United States. MBB666 or commonly known as MCDaniel-Billingsly-Bomgar's disease has reached crucial levels in the southern region of the USA. The state of Mississippi has been hit the hardest. Vaccinations will be provided FREE OF CHARGE at all GOP headquarter locations. Just provide ID and sign a waver that you support all republicans against a Tea Party assault. Those who voted for MCDaniel or support Billingsly or Bomgar will not recieve immunization for they are infested and no cure has been found. Only preventive measures have been found effective. This has been a Public Service Annoumcement from the CDC.
@3:56 all people like Bongar need to be quarantined in dorms. They can have their own little cult. If they did it somewhere other than Mississippi that'd be even better!
What is the deal with Joel Bomgaars name problem? Why is he misspelling his own last name? Does anybody know?
If Joel home schools his kids, they will be some very smart kids. The guy is brilliant. You must be sore that they wouldn't hire you. Ask anybody that worked for him, great guy. Aside from the personal vendetta against Joel, I agree that the anti-shot crowd is finally showing it's true looney side. To think we almost elected one of them.
Tona Becker? Josh and Wimpy Quinton? WTF! These people are supposed to be Died-in-the-wool republicans. I just called a friend at the MS-GOP to confirm, what I thought was a hoax. Holly Ba jeezas its TRUE!!! Now they are helping one of McDaniel's biggest supporters, NerdGar!!!! They have just committed political suicide. Josh and QD make all their money from republicans. Now they are biting the hand that feeds them! As my granddaddy used to say, "Those boys are a special kinda stupid"
I don't get the hatred for him. All he's done is create and produce. He's achieved quite a bit of business success but only in Mississippi is that seen as a negative. I forget, we have to tear down everyone who does well in this state and then wonder why we come in last.
So he's Tea Party. Wow, if that means he is against regulations, more spending, crony capitalism, and more debt, what is wrong with that? Can someone show me a crazy position he has taken?
Still doesn't explain why he hides his real name. It's Bomgaars.
Please 4:56. If this guy is Sooooo smart why does he put people's names on mail outs and emails saying they support him when he doesn't have their permission. If he doesn't have the common sense not to do this, I call this an idiot. You obviously have low standards when it comes to evaluating someone's intellect. It's called having No social boundaries from lack of exposure to the norms of society.
I know Joel and he was tea party long before the kooks took it over. Nothing wrong with that.
@kingfish here's a crazy position - Bomgardoesnt want to vaccinye kids kids, putting YOU and everyone else at risk to measles and other contagious diseases. You may not fully understand Bc you don't have kids but for those of us who do, it's an absurd stance. Bomgar may be good at technology but he's certainly not smarter than the CDC. Neither are you,
We don't hate the tea party in all reality, we hate the clandestine agenda of the Koch brothers
I'm tired of being a mere pawn in the billionaires pissing contest (see George Soros). They don't care about America or it's people. They're tricking people into thinking they care in order to set their own agendas of which we aren't privy.
Something just doesn't quite smell right about all of this.
It's good to see all the Bamgaar supporters bringing up the fact that he is TEA PARTY. Yall are such idiots he has been trying to hide that fact from day one cause Madison County hates the Tea Party and the Madison County Conservative Coalition, which is the Tea Party here. LOL
Who comes on here claiming to know who's kids get shots and who's do not? Spooky.
Again, just fess up what your beef is with Joel? Tea party or not, he is a very smart man, very principled and a different cut than the tea party nuts we saw last year. Talk to anybody that worked for him. Why the venom?
Does the mayor of Madison know her employee Tona Becker is working to elect one of the most notorious Tea Party people in Mississippi? I agree with 3:50. If you are associated in anyway with helping to elect or support the Tea Party you are the enemy. If the mayor's employee is affiliated now with the Tea Party then the mayor is Tea Party and shall be labeled such.
It's ironic how many people change their minds after their normal kid reacts to the 4 in 1 shot and gets type 1 diabetes or autism. Cause when it happens to you, your perspective changes and you wish the Ms Dept of Health weren't run by brain dead bureaucrats. Remember, Mississippi yiels the stupidest people in the US. And those that are too stoopid to work or teach, bureaucrat us to destruction.
So, how many people have to have reactions before you demand change?
1/1000? 1/100? 1/50?
If you're the 1, it makes a life changing impact on you that lasts the rest of your kids life.
Bashing a successful entrepreneur while sitting behind your laptop during the super bowl. Yeah, you are a winner.
The mayor of Madison, yeah the whole GOP of the USA follows her lead. #peackcocksonthedome
Which of you web troll losers is ready to go head to head against Joel? Would love to see it.
The only explanation for the anti Joel posts is that they are all Mary as her quest for president of the universe is usurped.
7:57. Billingsly won't win because of his Tea Part past. Joel won't win because of his Tea Party past. And the whole public school system in Madison will be against him. BTW: There is a name floating around the Capitol that is running against your nerd. If he signs up its over. And all the out of state money joel has raised won't help him.
7:57. They. Are. Jealous. Losers. No traction in their own world so they attempt to tear his down. Guess what. In the morning he will wake, up a self made millionaire at 30. They will wake uo the same losers they are now. I have met the young man once. Was very impressed. He spoke, to Rotary. They look in the mirror and cry.
@7:57 Silly little Tea Party troll. You think the Republican Party of Mississippi has been sitting around, twiddling their thumbs and just going to let Bomgar and Billingsly walk into the capitol. Now that's funny!!!! The hammer is about to come down on your little girly boys!
7:43 -- when something terrible happens to a child, parents seek answers. And when there are no answers, they seek to blame. One nutjob "researcher" in Britain puts together a non-peer-reviewed study made up of fewer than 20 kids and turns correlation into causation (the initial symptoms of autism, for example, usually become evident around the time that the recommended vaccine schedule really picks up), and then the parents have something to blame.
The SCIENCE doesn't support your paranoia. Seriously, NONE OF IT. Your "evidence" is based on the disgraced Andrew Wakefield, Jenny McCarthy, and the craziest of the "if the government likes it, it must be bad" crowd.
You don't want to vaccine your kids? Whatever. Keep them at home. Keep them the hell away from my kids. PEOPLE LIKE YOU PUT MY KIDS AT RISK. And, I swear, if one of my kids ends up sick or dead because of one of you flat-earthers, vaccines will be the LAST of your worries.
7:43, a child has a higher risk of serious effects from measles than having autism from a vaccination. The fact that a child has autism doesn't necessarily mean it is a result of vaccination. Cause and effect is tricky and people often make wrong conclusions because they are misled into making leaps that aren't justified. Many women believed silicon breast implants caused their auto immune illnesses. Careful research found that the women who had these implants had the same rate of incidence as those who did not have implants, debunking a common misperception.
Nothing is without risk, but the risks of no vaccination are higher than risk of vaccination. A rational parent will vaccinate because the odds are higher for a serious problem if no vaccination. An irrational parent will foolishly risk the child's health and possibly life to avoid a small risk. It is like not wearing a seatbelt in the hopes you will beat the odds and be thrown free of a car without serious injury when the statistics show that serious injury is much more likely without a seatbelt.
And, 7:35, how would that parent feel if the child contracts measles and is left blind or deaf or with other serious injury, or when as an adult a young woman gives birth to a child with serious deformities from rubella because she wasn't vaccinated. These scenarios are more likely than autism.
Who 8:15? John Nerd Reeves?
'The hammer is about to come down on your little girlie boys.'
Does that man the republicans are about to go race bait all of the democrats into voting for them again?
All of these comments talking I'll of the tea party, y'all forget that the tea party won the majority of republican votes last time.
7:33 PM "If you are associated in anyway with helping to elect or support the Tea Party you are the enemy. If the mayor's employee is affiliated now with the Tea Party then the mayor is Tea Party and shall be labeled such."
The enemy?
Feeling inadequate & paranoid? …you're a special kinda psycho.
PATRIOTS WIN!!! They played in the Super Bowl. It's a football game for all you Tea Party geeks!!!
Kind of funny. Nobody knows who's side to pull for. Tea party has to pull for non-kooks. Who is John Galt? Like anybody on either side on here would know!
Hey 8:58. John Reeves is Tea Party nip wad. Are all you tea party people just stupid or what? And 8:59. I know who you are from your writing. And I know where you buy your dope so keep it up missy.
9:31. Your so cute. Your read a book once!!! At las, I shrugged at your exaggerated educational prowess and inflated self worth.
@844-850. From a FB post in a thread regarding the bill
The poster is a baptist preacher and businessman.
"I know FIRST HAND what can happen when you overload a child's body with too many immunizations too fast as they do before our kids go to school in Mississippi. Our grandson became a Type 1 diabetic with 48 hours of having been overloaded with shots for school. Since then I have been on a 'BandWagon" about this. I have met with over 200 other parents who have suffered the same thing but many of them MUCH WORSE complications than Type 1 diabetes.
It breaks your heart ot see some of the children who are SEVERLY handicaped now because the Healt Dept refuses to give one shot at a time and give the child time to recover.
"One nutjob "researcher" in Britain puts together a non-peer-reviewed study "
That's not exactly correct. The Lancet is a prestigious peer-reviewed journal. Unfortunately scientists are not cynical enough to suspect someone has submitted a manuscript based on fraudulent data. He made up the numbers to "prove" his agenda. It took years of other studies that failed to replicate his findings before people became suspicious enough ti investigate fraud, and the his scheme all fell apart (he lost his license, the journal officially retracted the paper and denounced him as a fraud, etc). No scientist can make a career out of making spectacular claims and supporting them with fraudulent data, because if the claim is spectacular enough, and the supposed consequences of the claim are important enough, eventually the failure to replicate the results by other investigators will prove to be the undoing of the fraudster. Since it is eventually career suicide no reviewer or editor suspects anyone would be stupid enough to try it (but they do, and get caught eventually).
The MS Tea Party, OTOH, probably would support legislation mandating that parents have the right to decide for themselves if it is safe or not to drop a plugged-in radio into their child's bath water. Keep Big Gubmint out of our bathtubs!!!!!
What's next for the Tea Party? Attacking socialized waste water treatment? Why shouldn't people be able to opt out on government controls of #1 and #2?
I am going to accept the claim made by the supporters of this bill.
Before the vaccine became widespread, there were over half a million cases of measles per year. Half a million. The death rate is 1 per 1,000 cases. That is not counting other complications such as encephalitis, pneumonia, and brain damage. Thus there were 500 or so deaths PER YEAR.
If I take the number cited in the WSJ column last week as accurate, there are 1 case per 365,000 doses of the vaccine that result in severe side effects.
Its a numbers game. If you vaccinate, you will have some children who suffer side effects, some of them severe. The vaccine will not work sometimes BUT that is true of ALL vaccines. However, not vaccinating means kids die and more kids will die than are harmed by the vaccine.
I'm not belittling the suffering of these parents or what their kids experience. They are anguished and extremely upset. They have gone through hell seeing their children suffer. However, they offer little scientific evidence and the probabilities as well.
No, these people aren't toast in MS politics. They're about to unleash the ten plagues of Egypt in this hellhole with their little parental rights scheme.
If this is one part of a long agenda, I'd really really hate to see what's in the rest of it.
( we'd all love to believe that they're toast, but they are just getting started with dark money from the Kochtopus)
Galts gulch is not in Mississippi. Mary tried, but madison just isn't up to par. Time to go elsewhere.
I THINK COLORADO MAY BE A GOOD START!
Colorado is full of transplanted Californians, with all that implies. If that's what you want, just go to California.
Do not listen to any freedom lovin', personal liberties talking' tea party people. They are soooo stuck in 1776.
If the government hacks say vaccinate, you know it IS the BEST THING to do...and if you are unsure and have questions, just contact the competent folks at the CDC.
Josh Gregory has been seen talking with Chris "Tea Party" McDaniels. He has jumped to the dark side for sure. Time for Phil to get some new boys cause his are working against the republican establishment
Whereas, there's no reason to use the word "whereas" in a press release. Morons.
I'm always amazed at the number of people who have opinions about childcare when those people do NOT have children.
If you don't have a kid, just shut up.
I really hate the tea party and all the ignorant redneck BS it stands for. That includes you, Billingly. You can't hide your McDaniel push to throw out all the Republican votes here in Hinds and Madison counties. You found them all too convenient.
8:31 Although I do have kids (vaccinated and healthy, of course) I would point out that unvaccinated kids who get infected could infect me whether or not I do, so having a kid or not is irrelevant in this argument.
And the term "Whereas" is commonly used in proclamations. You an argue whether a proclamation is the proper format for a press release.
KF, I appreciate what you posted.
I would wish we would always stick to the positions and policies a person supports rather than engaging in character assassination.
Most humans have flaws AND redeeming qualities.
I don't expect those in politics to be able to walk on water.
That said...
I have to, at this point, be more than a little concerned that neither Bill nor Bomgaar are able to positively influence the MS Tea Party and do not seem to be in leadership positions. Nor do they forcefully speak up when their party goes awry.
You can't change groups you aren't in, but it is incumbent upon you to be a positive force in the groups to which you belong.
I do not know Bomgaar but I know Bill to be a smart and decent man who surprised and disappointed me by not cautioning those in his party early on in the Senate race. He may have done so privately. I hope so, but I felt the time came when a more public warning should have been issued and you would certainly have given him a forum.
He and Bomgaar should be addressing this, not you.
I would also point out to you that we have a problem with the statistics on " side effects". The first problem is that , in an effort to save money, vaccinations have been " stacked". In other words, a child receives more than one immunization at a time. This muddies the waters. Another problem is that some parents aren't aware of the signs a child may be susceptible to allergic reactions, " allergic shiners" ( dark circles around the eyes ) is one. They aren't aware of what early signs of a bad reaction are.
And, some, even if cautioned, don't want to make multiple visits for vaccinations when it's more convenient and less expensive to have them stacked.
But, we can't discuss these things, pressure health care providers and insurers, because those who are reacting emotionally are preventing the science that should take place.
MS has a high rate of immunizations but a low rate of autism. That we haven't looked at why there is such a wide disparity from state to state of the incidence per capita of autism is disturbing.
But, we cannot do what is needed to be done scientifically if we don't approach these problems rationally .
And, while I have sympathy with parents who feel their children have been harmed or damaged, the truth is that they lack the emotional distance necessary. Identifying a problem is not the same as solving it. To solve it, you need those who have invested a lifetime in looking at the science. Compiling anecdotal examples is not science.
You bother to learn about the details of important issues, KF and I respect that very much. Too many are so entrenched in party politics these days that rational thought is abandoned.
"MS has a high rate of immunizations but a low rate of autism. "
Excellent point. If the Chicken Littles in the anti-vax movement were correct in their correlation = causation arguments, then MS would be expected to have the highest rate of autism in the USA because we have the highest rate of vaccination against preventable diseases.
I'm suprised I haven't heard that point raised before.
So...when the preamble to the Constitution - a "Sacred Document" - says it's established to provide for "the general welfare" of the citizenry, that's a "Socialist argument"? These people are NUTS!!
Measles were declared dead in the US in 2000 but have now been re-introduced by international visitors. Over 100 cases in CA. Now the Tea Party wants to take us back to the unimmunized cave man era. Bill Billingsley must be so proud of the strong stand of his Tea Party and McDaniel affiliations. It was so convenient for him. But now the backlash has started.
Billingsly is running because his friend Will wouldn't help him with McDaniel's campaign. Bill has always wanted to be a player in politics and he thinks he can now be a senator. You cant win in Madison being a Tea Party kook, its that simple. Bomgaars wont be able to help you either Bill because he is about to have his hands full with an opponent backed by the whole republican establishment.
>>>So...when the preamble to the Constitution - a "Sacred Document" - says it's established to provide for "the general welfare" of the citizenry, that's a "Socialist argument"? These people are NUTS!! <<<
You need to go to take some classes at Glen Beck University to understand the true meaning.
Measles only lasts a few days. Autism, if you get it, lasts forever. There are 72 posts in this thread. If each gets the MMR vaccine, which of you are going to become a retard?
I need a list of reasons why people are resistant to vaccine. I just don't understand your point of view and really I just want to buy you a roll of reynolds and a how to origami hat making book.

Ask any doctor. Is the flu shot worth it this year even if the direct strain associated with the version spread in the year does not come with it?
YES! H1N1 vaccine is included; a virus that killed 284,000 people worldwide.

Thank you
Interesting - again the commentators here on JJ want to take off on their own issues rather than the subject of their post; in this case vacannations and the Tea Party.
But - over half the comments here are about Bomgar and Billingsby.
Yes, both are/have been members of the TP. Yes, the TP as it exists today, particularly in the metro area - is a bunch of nutjobs. But there were many well meaning good conservatives once affiliated with the TP in this area that supported its founding mission - less spending, less debt.
The idiots that claim to be leaders (Nicholson, LVO, Lane, ...) all have decided that they should weigh in on everything, and be against everything. And as such they have made themselves irrelevant.
But I don't buy into the concept that that disqualifies either Bomgar or Billingsby - or for that matter anybody working for their election. (Notice - a clear exception for anybody working for McD, Watson, or Sojourner - the leadership of the idiocy of 2014.)
I realize that many posting on here have a vested interest in getting themselves elected/reelected. If you want to start a thread about Joel or Bill, do it. Plenty to comment about either, with an appropriate discussion of their actual (not alleged or misstated) role in either the McNutt campaign or in the recruiting of candidates.
Right now, for this thread - focus on the idiots at the TP trying to insure the recreating of some serious infectious diseases here in our state.
12:10 PM
You are helping perpetuate a fraud that the MMR produces autism. See the article in today's New York Times where it states:
" Typically, the M.M.R. shot is given to infants at about 12 months and again at age 5 or 6. This doctor, Andrew Wakefield, wrote that his study of 12 children showed that the three vaccines taken together could alter immune systems, causing intestinal woes that then reach, and damage, the brain. In fairly short order, his findings were widely rejected as — not to put too fine a point on it — bunk. Dozens of epidemiological studies found no merit to his work, which was based on a tiny sample. The British Medical Journal went so far as to call his research “fraudulent.” The British journal Lancet, which originally published Dr. Wakefield’s paper, retracted it. The British medical authorities stripped him of his license."
Laura Van Crazyperson issued this proclamation/press release? Looked and read like her, even before I got to the name at the bottom - full of b/s and distorted 'facts' supporting a total misapplication of the term "good government".
I had heard that she had moved - and thought it the best thing to have ever happened for the benefit of our state. Evidently was just a bad rumor - probably because she had kept her trap shut of her idiocy for a few weeks and we were all celebrating over not having to listen to her dribble.
1:28 if you think Bomgar and Billingsly aren't with the Anti-vaccine crowd your a fool. They fought tooth and nail with the Tea Party last year for their beliefs. You might as well say that guy at the Klan rally isn't a bigot. Joel and Bill have spent time and money to defeat ELECTED republicans and are supporting more to do the same.
To the fallacious comment that measles last only a few days, but autism lasts a life time: You are ignoring the fact that death is a risk of measles (and more likely than autism, if there is even a link to autism from vaccination). You also ignore risks of permanent brain damage, damage to eyesight, etc., from measles. With rubella, there is a risk of birth defects when pregnant women are infected with rubella.
I'm also all for putting Jones County under a mandatory quarantine, to be enforced by National Guard roadblocks at the county exits, until the anti-vaccination scare is over.
Those damned hippie liberals!
good point, death lasts a long time.
Can someone explain to me why the government provides drinking water to so many city people?
Why can't these people go out and get it themselves? Why is this the government's job? Very socialistic.
People can buy water in stores or have it delivered just like they do in Mexico!
I am stunned at the direction we are going in this state and nation. The Tea Party movement has become a cult of complete madness on nearly every issue. They attack sane Republicans and Democrats equally. They attack anyone who is not f-----g crazy as they are. Rand Paul is now pushing this anti-vaccination madness and people are buying into it hook line and sinker.
People need to wake up when they vote this year and get rid of anyone remotely connected to the Tea Party and they need to do the same next year.
When the Koch family helped found the John Birch Society in the 1950s our freedom was already being lost. They were among the first to suspect that Dwight Eisenhower was a Communist. It was at this same time that vaccinations were forced on the American people. Vaccinations and other government regulations are part of the master plan of controlling people into Communist slavery. People in Mississippi started waking up last year. They saw the truth. They saw the conspiracy against them. People are waking up all across the county. They are being reborn into patriots. This year we will elect more patriots in the legislature. Next year we will for the first time since the founding days of our country elect a patriot. The Koch Brothers will spend $1 billion to make it happen. Jeb Bush will be defeated in the primaries. A patriot like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, or Sarah Palin will win the Republican nomination and will defeat Hillary Clinton. Our country will be free again. Free from vaccinations, free from communist education and healthcare, free from godless laws and regulations, free from the nanny state, free from the Communist influenced Republicans and Democrats. American is being reborn.
I went to the John birch society website.
I saw a cute little word called 'con cons' referring to communists.
Oh, the irony that the FBI was founded to combat communism. The Koch brothers were found guilty by the Feds for a little oil pollution.
Bush got the charges dropped.
Y'all are a bunch of dumbasses.
You have the freedom to be a lemming and walk right off a cliff running from the red scare.
last summer Madison County distributed the anti-tea party vaccine and it was a resounding success. looks like it has about only a year shelf life. Come August we will be administering another round of this vaccine. If you start to feel stupid, ignorant or just plain foolish you may have contracted the tea party virus. have no fear. this vaccine we have works very well. you can go to your local voting booth and get a dose. just pull the lever and vote for anyone except Billingsly or Bomgar and you will be protected and cured. isn't science wonderful!
The liberal media portrays anyone who is for freedom as some type of kook. For some 50 years they did this to the John Birch Society, Koch family, Josephy McCarthy, and many others until people finally started to wake up. People are tired of elections with two phony choices. There is no difference between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton just like there was no difference between Thad Cochran and Travis Childers. They are one and the same. Two sides of a coin. The money comes from the same people. It has always been rigged but now people are waking up. People now know there are real patriots and they will vote for them.
"It was at this same time that vaccinations were forced on the American people. "
Hey psycho - the first polio vaccine wasn't available until 1956, when it was immediately embraced by the public because they had lived through polio epidemics and wanted to see it eradicated. Then came measles, mumps, rubella, etc.
6:42 PM
What grade did you make it to?
6:42 PM
Did you let your parents know when you flunked Jr. High American History? They should have seen to it you took it over.
Nice piece of satire Libertyland. But just in case you're serious, there's a nice room at Whitfield waiting for you.
Longwitz is Tea Party also.
Paranoid delusions are not limited to talking dogs, or radio messages from implants by aliens, or the CIA.
The delusional thinking can be attached to real people or government or history . Religious ideations are common.
What characterizes those who are paranoid is conspiratorial thinking and imagined threats that have no basis in fact.
They create a world that doesn't exist but that is seen as a threat to them.
The " voices" they hear are sometimes, like with the Uni-Bomber, the thoughts that come to them rather than the fantasy of an entity speaking to them.
There are no facts, there is no logic that can dissuade. If you try to disabuse them of their conspiratorial notions, they see you as the part of their conspiracy or the enemy.
I can't be certain 6:42 pm is clinically paranoid or just duped by the ravings of someone who is paranoid.
It's also not uncommon for those with PTSD to exhibit paranoid ideations.
At any rate, you can't deal rationally with an irrational person.
6:42 am... whatever the cause of your bizarre thinking or source of misinformation , you are thinking irrationally. You are unable to identify the difference between fact and fiction.
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/02/gop-senator-let-restaurants-opt-out-of-handwashing-after-toilet-to-reduce-regulatory-burden/
“Don’t you believe that this regulation that requires this gentlemen to wash his hands before he serves your food is important?” Tillis was asked by the person at his table.
“I think it’s one I can illustrate the point,” Tillis told the women. “I said, I don’t have any problem with Starbucks if they choose to opt out of this policy as long as the post a sign that says ‘We don’t require our employees to wash their hands after leaving the restrooms.’ The market will take care of that.”
“That’s probably one where every business that did that would go out of business,” he added. “But I think it’s good to illustrate the point that that’s the sort of mentality that we need to have to reduce the regulatory burden on this country.”
“We’re one of the most regulated nations in the history of the planet, and I think if we go about it in a common sense way that that solves a lot of problems. It makes these other big problems that we’re talking about imminently more easy to solve.”
Bomgar is having a Tea Party and ANTI-Vaccine meeting at Cock of the Walk THURSDAY NIGHT!!!! Lets all show up and see what kooks he has supporting him. Lets see...there will be NUT JOB and Tea Party Queen PAT BRUCE, former republican now Tea Party operative Tona Becker, Josh "New McDaniel Campaign Manager" Gregory, Bill "Tea Party Vote Counter" Billingsly. Absent will be the whole republican party of Madison and public school supporters and the CDC.
Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) became the latest Republican on Tuesday to speak out against vaccine mandates, saying: "We should not have an oppressive state telling us what to do."
"I want that to be my choice as a parent," Duffy, a father of seven, said said during an appearance on MSNBC's "The Rundown With José DÃaz-Balart." "I know my kids best. I know what morals and values are right for my children. I think we should not have an oppressive state telling us what to do."
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/sean-duffy-vaccine-oppressive-state
11:05 - That's an interesting scenario, but carry it to the next, logical step that Tillis omitted. Just what entity is going to require and enforce the posting of such sign? No way to assume that the Starbucks or other entity would gladly submit to posting such a sign on their own initiative, out of the goodness of their heart.
Guess it would have to be the nasty old government. Still regulation, just of a different law.
Backroom meetings at the capitol today. GOP gearing up to take out the anti-vaccine/tea party candidates. They aren't going to be blindsided like last year. Key target is Bumgars.
4:24 - don't know if you know what you are talking about, but hope you are correct. Tea Party ilk needs to be gone - and that certainly includes Bomgars. Personally don't think it covers Billingsby, but then again that's just a personal observation.
There are several folks recruited by the McNutt faction - generally kinfolk of the so-called leadership of the McNutts - that hopefully won't make it past go either, although they have learned from the master that 'passing go' is the way to collect their $200.
9:04 AM "No Denying It":
No, Will Longwitz is NOT Tea Party. Conservative, very much so, but NOT TP. Georgetown graduates do NOT do TP. His opponent, Billy Bill, OTOH, is certifiably a McNuts TP groupie.
Sounds like someone on here is trying their damnedest to tie Billingsley, Bomgar, and anyone else they don't like to a few loud wingnuts. I would be willing to bet they've never met either of these men. Point is, they are hardworking people who making a go at it politically. As far as I am aware, neither one of them have signed on to this anti-vaccine mess. If you don't agree with them on the issues that's fine, but spewing worthless conspiratorial garbage doesn't further the discussion at all.
OMG!
I feel like Alice in Wonderland reading some of these posts!
We cannot be " good Germans" and let the insane take over Mississippi again!
Backroom meetings at the capitol today. GOP gearing up to take out the anti-vaccine/tea party candidates. They aren't going to be blindsided like last year. Key target is Bumgars.
YOU ARE AN IDIOT. CERTIFIED.
Why you should NEVER vaccinate

I believe they are drinking that tea made from psychedelic mushrooms. That's the only explanation I can come up with.
The Bwahahaha Men
Who Let the Loons Out
There is no denying it. Longwitz ran in 2011 as a Tea Party Member.
