Damn, this hurts. Tom Freeland, the blogger known as NMissCommentor, died. The cause of death is said to be post-surgery complications. Despite our online ribbing of each other, he was a friend of this website and helped quite a bit over the years. He will be missed very much.

Sad news........I enjoyed reading his blog.
Very sad and indeed shocking news. I enjoyed especially reading his insightful commentary during the court proceedings over the McDaniel election challenge.
RIP
I really enjoyed his blog. Prayers and hugs.
Sad sad news. Hate to hear that. He was a good fellow. So hate to hear of his demise.
Man, this sucks. Did not know him personally but read and enjoyed his blog immensely.
What a shock, he was a great guy.
Sad news. Prayers for his friends and family
What happened?
Safe travels Tom. You will be missed.

Don't know if it has anything relevant, but he had been posting fewer and farther apart on his blog. I had wondered if health problems were a factor in that. His blog was very interesting during the Scruggs scandals; the Barbour pardons and subsequent lawsuit; and the McDaniel circus.
I knew Tom as a friend, lawyer and blogger. He loved Mississippi: its music, food, and political heroism, and was himself an example of the best the state has to offer. Like many of you, I miss his insight and humor already. Goodbye, old friend.

Happy trials, NMC, from your old pal, Floyd Pink.
I loved his travels down the back roads he often blogged about. He loved to try out the local cuisine when ever he could from no where to New Orleans. I often wondered if he attended the Dickie and Diane Scruggs residence open house that was actually a fundraiser for Ole Ms. He knew more about the Scruggs than most. RIP Tom.
One of the three great and prodigious Mississippi bloggers who didn't run away and hide from active reader commentary. The loss of his voice and reader dialog creates a great disturbance in the force of Mississippi free speech.
Time to put up and fill the void Anderson.
RIP NMC.

This is a huge loss to the blogging community, the legal community, and Mississippi as a whole. NMC was smart, thoughtful, interesting and his blog was a joy to read. I didn't always agree with him but he was an example of the best in our state. He will be greatly missed.
A shocking loss. What a terrible shame if his complications were in any way HA-MRSA related. God rest his soul.
Sam Hall pays more attention to Alan Lange than anyone else in Mississippi besides Frank Corder.
Tom's watermark in blogging will not soon fade. He will be missed.
