It has been nearly a year since Carolyn Temple was murdered at night in Belhaven. JPD arrested three suspects in the case. They have all been indicted for capital murder.
Gerome Moore: The case has been continued several times and is scheduled to go to trial on June 6, 2016. Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill will preside.
Antreal Jones: The case was assigned to Judge Tomie Green. Judge Green continued the case to "March 2016" on October 15, 2015. She stated "ongoing plea negotiations" were the basis for her ruling. Nothing has been filed in the case since she issued the continuance order.
Antwain Dukes: Judge Winston Kidd continued the case and set trial for July 25, 2016.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

The cases will be closely watched. This is not the type of case for the typical catch and release program. These judges had better get it right
Yep. this case is the type where a white woman was killed...
We should hang the culprits in the middle of the day on a public street. They'll never amount to anything more than a drain on society.
Harvest their spare parts, those that are still worth it.
They already done been catched and released before.
Two of the three were out on bond for other gun crimes at the time of the murder.
Thanks, Kingfish for keeping on top of this for us. This is why I like JJ so much. You give us the rest of the story.
3 different judges. It's going to be real interesting to see what the verdicts are. The real question is how do you stop these feral youths from doing all this carnage. Chicago(Obama's chosen city)is a killing field of feral thugs.
Yes, the judges do need to get it right. Unfortunately much will rely on the jury pool which will include the likes of 8:03.
Antreal going to roll on one of the others?
Wonder how Moore and Dukes F & F feel about that!
8:03 is Tom Head.
My thanks as well. Nobody has forgotten their brief reign of terror. As you said back then, to Judge Kidd, "We are watching."
And thanks again to our police department.
I hope they all get the death penalty, Carolyn was a good friend, I would like to see all three crucified in public.
Even if they are given a life sentence they will be out in about 7 years to do the same thing again.
It has happened before in Jackson. Life in prison in Jackson can sometimes be as long as 7 years.
I think 4:07 just got pasted in the Judge Weill thread for saying much the same thing. He or she is as robotic as Marco Rubio.
30 years ago you could walk down the streets in Jackson and be safe, leave your doors unlocked and feel proud to say you were from Jackson. I have been here all my life, 50 years, and it CAN change! But the judges have to be removed and replaced with ones who have gonads and a DA who is willing to say "I'm going to do the right thing and prosecute the criminals!" And not take a plea bargain or whatever! This city used to carry some clout! We need to get it back that way. There are
Still some of us who believe it can be done.
We don't often, if ever, hear of a middle aged female being murdered in her front yard in Jackson. Of ANY race. Why would some of you try to make a race issue out of this? Do you really think this ought not be pursued vigorously? Are you race-based enough to think this is not a front burner issue for the city? Regardless of race?
Sorry. 501, It can not change for the better in Jackson.
Thanks for the update Kingfish.
Please keep us updated on the Eric Hambrick assault/murder as well.
We should always be able to kill those with whom we disagree. Assuming there is a majority vote first, of course. That's what makes it civilized, you see.
'...with whom we disagree'? Is 10:52 one of those people who actually believes the death penalty for murder (under some circumstances) is merely the response to a disagreement? Are there people walking among us who really believe that? Do they vote? My God....yes, yes and yes!
5:01 pm You have forgotten there was a murder and rape of an elderly woman in Jackson 30 years ago. Murders happened when the city had white leadership.
The days of leaving one's door open and unlocked ended( or should have)more than 30 years ago when people no longer stayed in one location and you knew all your neighbors. Employers started " transferring people". Strangers moved into your neighborhoods and some brought their city problems with them.
Mobility also meant that poor areas that were always crime ridden were no longer contained. Immigration brought crime in our early history. Remember the Chinese and Italians brought the Tongs and Mafia with them.
Like you, I believe Jackson can and will continue to improve as have other capitol cities that experienced white flight, particularly on the East Coast. It could have already happened if Mississippians had more State pride and less dislike of their fellow citizens.
When the good and smart and decent people in a State so outnumber the mean, bitter people, it's hard to understand how the latter has managed to flourish and hold back everyone, but they have.
Agree to Disagree, I think you misunderstood my comment. We, as a society, can vote to kill someone (indirectly, of course) by a majority vote.
Why do you feel that some people should be killed and others not? I propose that, until we start executing people for massive financial crimes we should probably just incarcerate your run-of-the-mill capital murderers for the remainder of their lives It's a lot cheaper and the incremental deterrent value of killing somebody versus lifetime incarceration is simply economically indefensible. But, hey, if y'all vote to spend millions to kill somebody, who am I to complain?
7:37
Your price reference is the problem. You liberals have made it your mission to run the price of execution up sky high. I volunteer to personally shoot the criminals between the eyes with a ballistic tip round from my .308. They will never feel a thing. Why is that so unacceptable to you? Why do you insist that we perform very expensive executions? Theres no reason at all to drug the criminal up before killing them. None. Other than it helps your agenda that feeding them for life is better than killing them.
Please provide one reason that Jackson will make a turn around and return to being a good safe place to live. Downward trend had in effect for about 25 years with each year the drop being sharper. The State can not help since is also in a decline. Hoping for best will not get it done.
8:29, I am probably the most conservative person you would ever meet. Notwithstanding that, I would tell you that it's not the drug cocktail (which costs approximately $30), it's the lawyers. There are multiple studies which show it costs up to $3,000,000 more to execute than to incarcerate for lifetime. The millions are spent on lawyers, experts, and investigators ON BOTH SIDES. I know the typical response is that the convicted should not get those appeals. However, I can point to greater than 100 people who have been found NOT t have committed the crime for which they were sentenced to be executed. If they had been executed sooner it would have ended those lengthy appeals, but it wouldn't have done a thing to stop the murderer who was free during that time.
I don't know the three accused murderers, nor do I know the victim. I just think a rush to judgment is never warranted. And a quick bullet to the head lowers society to the level of the killers. I think that the point being missed is that everybody seems comfortable killing people as long as we all agree on it, which apparently includes killing those who have killed without getting the majority vote first.
If money and time would not be wasted on those caught red handed murdering people we would not have quite as big a problem.
We have people who were caught in the act of murdering another person costing the tax payers millions of $. In those cases anything after the first decision to kill a murderer is a wasted effort.
A person who chooses to kill another person makes the decision on what should happen to them. We, the people, do not need to make that decision. The murderer has already made that decision for us.
11:35, so what other parts of the constitution do you disfavor?
God, so many fucking liberal lawyers troll this site. Carolyn was my friend and I want to see all 3 of these little black buggers strung up and gutted.
3:19, there are many parts of the constitution that others, even including your president, are side stepping, over looking, and by passing.
Why won't someoneinnorthms admit that the cost of killing a killer has zilch to do with his opposition to the death penalty. It's just a convenient mantel upon which to lay his liberal opinion of the death penalty.
Nor does his liberal opinion on this subject have a damned thing to do with the fact that an innocent here and there is claimed to have been executed. Another convenient subterfuge.
If it cost six million to feed and house one and six bucks to kill one, he'd still bitch and moan and line up with the ACLU and the SPLC outside Parchman on 49 come execution night.
