The Mississippi Department of Public Safety issued the following press release from the Clarksdale Police Department:
•On 02/15/2016, on 02/15/2016, The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and The Clarksdale Police Department have charged Johnny Robinson Jr., a 19 year-old male with two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer (Cpl. Derrick Couch).

•The Clarksdale Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance and cooperation during this investigation: The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI), The Mississippi Highway Patrol, (MHP), The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), The Mississippi Forensic Laboratory, The United States Marshal Service, The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), The United States Attorney’s Office of The Northern District of Mississippi, The Clarksdale Fire Department, The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office, The District Attorney’s Office of the 11Th District of The State of Mississippi, The Southaven Police Department, The Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, The Tunica Police Department, The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, The Memphis Police Department, and The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. There were a lot of very dedicated men and women who have assisted us in getting to this point in our investigation and words cannot express our appreciation. I'm sure Black Lives Matter will organize a rally in support of the police officer. after all, he is a black person who was just brutally shot as if his life did not matter.
