Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

A white person is not allowed to complain. They will be called racist. Doesn't matter what they say. For some reason the black lives matter crowd does not think a black life matters if there isn't a white person to blame. Sure hard to take them serious when killings like this happens and no one will step forward to help put the killers in jail but if a white cop attempts to stop a black criminal the street will fill with black people.
I appreciate Howard's concern and will always support wise words that promote good relations among good men.
We have in our country a vocal and well received plethora of voices extolling the hatred of white people. What they say is not true, however, the audience loves to hear it and feel it justifies their lot in life. It allows the audience to shift blame to others and the situation can never be rectified as it does not exist to change.
"We" have to stop killing each other? Who's We?
Howard where is your outrage with the DA who keeps letting repeat offenders out on the streets. Also what about your outrage with Green and Kid. You are in a position to expose these do nothing's but you don't say anything.
Since this was written, another young man killed, for unknown reasons, two innocent people. I agree with Howard and assume the "we" was not meant as an insult to law-abiding folks. These murders are awful and cannot be tolerated. Bail for any offense needs to be higher in Jackson. I feel so sorry for the victims and their families. I feel so sorry for the mother who had to turn her son in. This is tearing our City up.
Agreed 9:49 AM. The fault is not JPD; the fault is in the Judicial from the District Attorney to the Judges who do not set bail in keeping with the potential for additional crime. This is both City and County Judges. Jail should not be a revolving door; it should be punishment, consistant with safety for citizens, and not a badge of honor but a true mark of shame for the perpetrator, his friends and the whole community.
If you do the crime, do the time, regardless of race. A person is only as good as what feeds their mind. If you know those who are feeding their minds on violence, on violent music, on violent movies, on violent TV, then you know those who will participate in violence.
Some commenters just throw race into everything around these parts.
What does Black Live Matter have to do with random street crime? BLM was started to address a very specific target - the killing of unarmed, non violent, black people by police. BLM was not and is not focused on street crime.
I encourage readers of this blog to start a new movement targeted to reduce and eliminate street crime, since this a subject that is very close to their hearts. You don't need to be black to start it, just committed.
11:09, a movement aimed at street crime and domestic crime, which is almost entirely a matter of crimes committed by black men, has to start among blacks. Whites will support it, Lord knows, but blacks have to support it first. Our common history requires that. I am grateful to Mr. Ballou for stepping up, but others like him, and of his color, have stepped up before and nothing came of it. Black men have to own this issue. White America may have owned it after the Civil War, but we've seen how THAT worked.
Great to see you are MAD AS HELL! Howard. WLBT has been silent on this issue and now its past time to use your enormous bully pulpit to drag the scum into the light and never let up. If this were a horse in rural Rankin county that was starved Marsha would have had a week long expose on the matter. Getting up in redneck's grill and chasing pickups. It time to make these Judges and Thugs feel the same heat! GO HOWARD!
Thank you for speaking up, Howard. Please keep your foot on the gas.
Holy hell, PittPanther, your statement is pure crazy!
Whatever its "very specific target" provenance was, BLM has pushed its way into any and every arena like a know-it-all drunk at a cocktail party. For them to be absolved of any responsibility to react to close-to-home issues such as street violence and black-on-black crime, they have to keep their nose out of EVERYTHING that does not directly tie to cops killing unarmed, non-violent blacks (and the non-violence is certainly debatable in some of their signature causes).
Examples are myriad. Why was BLM on the campus of Ole Miss demanding the removal of the state flag. That is certainly outside of their "very specific target".
Why did they invade the Dartmouth library, screaming obscenities and calling students (many of whom are likely allies) racists? No minority-killing cops were hiding there.
Why did BLM members and supporters, upset over their loss of the spotlight last weekend, start a hashtag of #F*ckParis? Why would an organization that is narrowly focused on black lives inject themselves so obtusely into an international terrorist incident?
Why was BLM at Mizzou where no cops were involved other than to take reports on poop swastikas and claims of slurs by phantom truck driving racists, and no one was shot, let alone killed, by police?
Every day brings us a new area where BLM is weighing in, trying to maintain their momentum by crashing parties to which they neither were invited nor have any relevance. The ONLY area they seem to be silent on is street violence - a place where black lives, those lives they so loudly and conspicuously claim matter, are being taken in great numbers. If any group needs BLM's advocacy, it's the unarmed, non-violent, LAW ABIDING black folks who are being murdered in their own neighborhood by their own people.
So maybe you want to call out BLM for all their blather in areas outside their "very specific target", or maybe you want to do some rethinking of your rather silly assertion. Or maybe you should do what Black Lives Matter refuses to do - shut the hell up.
You'd think everyone would just agree with Howard that all of us must unite against crime, particularly violent crime.
But, oh no, some of you want to introduce politics and argue rather than find ways to work together to make our communities safer.
The courts may have play in it, but the lack of family values and upbringing is where it starts.
The only things these animals understand is a bullet between the eyes. As long as they're carrying a weapon and they approach you, The Castle Doctrine rules.
Howard's mom was Dr. King's secretary.
Anonymous at 1:30 nailed it. Where is the outrage, WLBT? WAPT? WJTV? even that kooky rag JFP? Why aren't these outlets ambushing judges who let bad guys out on the streets? Repeatedly shove a microphone and camera in their faces when they are walking to their cars. It's highly effective. I see it done on cable news all the time. Sick of the tiptoeing around this issue. Don't these newscasters and reporters live in this cesspool too? They are in the best position to turn it all around and they do next to nothing. Thank you, Howard, for your post, but let's see FAR more--from all of you. Hold these people accountable and fix the problem.
Who care that Howard's '...mom was Dr. King's secretary'? I don't. How is that relevant to blacks killing blacks, and on occasion, random whites? The posters here did not introduce race into this 'discussion'. Mr. Ballou did!
While he claims this is not about race he fails to explain his claim. Of course it's about race. 98% of the killers are of one race just like 90% of the targets are of one race. How can we pretend it's not about race.
I missed Howard's outrage when the bass fisherman was murdered at Motel a year ago. He was just goin' about his business trying to make life better. So was the woman murdered in Belhaven a year ago and the one murdered at Logan's the other night. So was the doctor who was kidnapped and later able to turn the tables on the thugs that grabbed him.
While I'm sorry that the relative of Howard's friend was murdered, Howard has his cap on sideways if he really thinks this is not about race. Show me statistics that support your contention, Howard.
