Ridgeland PD is seeking a suspect in a robbery. RPD stated:
Strong Arm Robbery Suspect
Ridgeland
Police are trying to identity the subject in the attached videos. He
was at a local restaurant when he punched a juvenile victim in the head
and stole money from the juvenile.
According
to witnesses, after placing an order, the man accused the juvenile of
taking his money. When the juvenile denied taking anything from the
man, the man reached over and grabbed the juvenile’s money from his hand
and punched him in the head.

Just wait til Costco opens
Imagine if Stokes had his stand down policy!!! Anyone could run across the border and be free
What restaurant???
Do they have any restaurants in Ridgeland? Any that attract clientele worth robbing?
No evidence of a robbery that I saw!?
Is Olive's Garden the most upscale Ridgeland restaurant. That would be my best guess
Tico's, Ely's, Ruth's Chris, Anjou, Amerigo's, Kathryn's, Shapleys.
Those are some pretty nice restaurants. Some of you are either trolls or just plain ignorant.
@ 11:06..Your ignorance is showing.
"Is Olive's Garden the most upscale Ridgeland restaurant. That would be my best guess"
First, the name of the restaurant to which you must be talking about is "Olive Garden."
Next, it is in Jackson, not Ridgeland.
Last, if you are asking a question then the sentence requires a question mark, not a period. Also, the end of your second sentence requires a period.
Obviously you don't dine out often, and certainly you don't dine in Ridgeland. You need to stick to Church's and the nearest Exxon station for you meals.
Some of you are either trolls or just plain ignorant.
Or, likely, both.
Grow a pair, Kingfish, and report on which restaurant.
PS: Olive Garden is not in Ridgeland. It's down there next to the Motel 6 in Jacktown where a bass fisherman was murdered by getting himself shot in the head and daily snatchings go on every day in the nearby Target parking lot. You know the area. Not Ridgeland.
I didn't see a robbery on the video provided. Nor is a restaurant a place that has a walk-up counter where one orders.
If yer plate is hotter than the food itself, it ain't a nice restaurant.
@11:06 - Olive Garden is in Jackson dumbass
KF : thanks but: What's with the video of a guy just standing there? Wrong video?
This had to have occurred at Renaissance and from the floors it looks like 5 Guys. I was at Seafood Revolution for Happy Hour (yet another horrible Ridgeland bistro) when I saw several of Ridgeland's finest pull up. Ambulance was on scene around the corner when I left.
This would not be the first incident to have happened at Five Guys where the police were called. The problem with a hamburger joint at the Renaissance is that everyone loves hamburgers: rich and poor, criminal and law-abiding. I give the Renaissance a few years before it is the next County Line Rd. long live the Outlets of MS!!
@Hold My Cash - What difference does it make which restaurant? What if it was Five Guys? Will you add it to your no-fly zone along with Target on I-55? Do you really believe there is some magic deterrent at a county line or city limit? Ridgeland and Jackson (and every other suburb) are part of the the same metro area and there are no barriers. Crime is a metro-wide problem that requires metro-wide solutions and cooperation.
No way it's 5 Guys because there isn't that much floor space without a sack of potatoes or peanuts. My first thought was the food court in Northpark, but it's been 10 years since I stepped in NP.
Furthermore, how did a post about crime at an undisclosed Ridgeland location wind up with comments bashing Renaissance? Let's stop arguing about whose stucco shopping centers are uglier....looking at you fellow NE JXN'ers who act like Maywood Mart, Colonial Mart and DeVille don't exist. Remember most of us are on the same team pulling for a better metro.
10:47, The no-fly zone should be put back in place all over Jackson. I can leave my Range Rover unlocked and running in the parking lot of Madison Kroger. Until Mayor Phony Yarber can really point to a substantial decrease in crime, no legitimate business will want to setup shop on County Line Rd. Any word on Target moving out?
When your Rover is available in the parking lot of the Madison Kroger, please post it here. Thank you so much!
Everything police release is posted. Restaurant didn't want its name released.
I'm not sure what to post, so I'll just kick back and watch the barbs fly.
"Head for the mountains of Busch... beer..."
9:48, you sure spend a lot of time at Renaissance to be recognizing the floor of Five Guys (if that's where this occurred). Maybe you had too much to drink at happy hour. Really stupid of you to go somewhere that is horrible by your "standards". You don't know the difference between a "bistro" and a fine dining establishment. You're probably one of these who doesn't know if they're in Ridgeland or Jackson.
9:48 you didn't get my sarcasm I take it? Let me 'splain: I was BRAGGING on Seafood Revolution. We (Ridgeland) don't deserve Chef Folse and company. That better? And yes, I love 5 Guys too.
Looks like Taco Bell!
12:14, is that why Burke's Outlet & Mississippi Smiles Denistry BOTH just opened on County Line Road on the Jackson side? How about Conn's? Sure we lost Best Buy & Sam's, but you must lose a few to gain a few. No word on Target moving out of Jackson, because it does substantial business, and a Target in Madison has become a pipe dream, synonymous with the existence of Harbor Walk in Ridgeland, i.e. not happening.
Since when is 'not wanting to be identified' the determinant in good reporting? The 'beauty queen' you spent weeks identifying last year didn't want to be identified either.
If you posted what the PO PO provided, you would also have posted the name of the place.
"There was a robbery somewhere in the city" doesn't meet the bar of adequate news. But you already knew that.
Zach,
I live in Jackson and have for over 40 years. Defending Jackson against the unreasonable B.S. is commendable, but attempting to defend Jackson with your logic is just dumb.
A dental office in a strip mall is not a positive sign, economically, for an area. Losing anchor businesses and replacing them with ancillary businesses is not the type of "lose a few to gain a few" occurrence one would desire. That's like putting a dollar store in one of the wealthiest corners of the state.
Until Jackson changes it's black/white issue to a green issue, there will be no business being in business in Jackson.
Some information is gained through public records requests. Other info is volunteered by the police. Everything the police provided was posted.
3:40 is right. Burke's Outlet isn't exactly something to brag about. The black/white issue is only going one way, more blacks, less whites. Not sure what % of the city's population needs to be black for the issue to go away so more important business can be tended to. 90%? 95%?
3:40 also mentioned Dollar General being across from the Country Club of Jackson. What do the PGA players think when turning into CCJ right after passing a Dollar General, vacant Kroger and Krystal to the north or the beauty supply stores and lack luster apartments to the south? Don't worry golf fans, there is plenty of safe parking at the Northpark theater.
