Bringing a knife to a......

Neal Cavuto embarrasses a college student who wants free college, cancellation of all student debt, and a $15/hour minimum wage by asking her one simple question.

The student doesn't exactly come from a poor family, either.

I can't blame this young girl. She has obviously listened to Comrade Bernie Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Pocahontas Warren and the current occupant of the White House. This drumbeat is getting louder. This great experiment that is the United States is at a crossroads and unless it is reversed, may not survive. Where is John Galt?

I must say that Cavuto was extraordinarily kind and gentle to that young, naive female. He wasn't condescending, was just gently trying to get her to see the truth. Good for him. Good luck to her, she's got a rude awakening coming.

I consider Cavuto to be the best anchor on tv, bar none. Very professional, soft spoken, not in your face.

The Fox News haters should give him a try.

This video is pretty good lesson, regardless of political persuasion.

Maybe she needs to learn to PRONOUNCE 'debt' and 'percent', before she talks about them.

Or, maybe she needs to get into a time machine and go back to the Eighties, move to California, and be a Valley Girl. I'm so sick of listening to stupid young females expanding the parameters of the ongoing VOWEL SHIFT, in their shrill, raspy, glottal-fry croaks.

She'll be the first to complain her first job offer wasn't $75,000/yr. Happens everytime when a generation gets praised for blowing their nose and gets a trophy for just showing up. She's in for a rude awakening!

An art history major, dumber than a box of rocks.

There is an easy solution to these participation trophy generation children - cut the funding to the taxpayer supported institutions. Give them a little taste of reality. Taxpayers can stop this cold. I have used the "your cut off" method with each of my three. Has never failed. And is fun to watch!

Do a simple search and you find this on Ms. Mullen - http://www.examiner.com/article/keely-mullen-million-student-march-spokeswoman-is-the-one-percent

She is sporting a "Socialist Alternative" t-shirt and is steeped in Marxist drivel.

These supposedly "spontaneous" student demonstrations are being organized, funded, and lead by Comunist organizations. Nothing new here, we saw it all during the 60s. Same bunch organizing except they are now grandparents of little commies. Peel back the onion and you find the current generation of privileged punks.

Cannot understand why Cavuto and others don't do a background check on their guests and let the viewer know upfront who is being interviewed. She is an open Marxist. We should know that before they start spouting their propaganda nonsense.

Perfect candidate for a JFP internship.

Communism appeals to the young and naive. Communist organizers recruit using arguments of unfairness, class envy, and poverty. Young knuckleheads have no life experience, so they readily embrace one of the most dangerous and destructive political philosophies ever envioned. It is as deadly as ISIS. Just do the body count under Joseph Stalin and Mao....millions.

That was great. How about this article on Ms. Mullen -

her family is on government assistance as she claimed? :)

Really? Assuming that ya'll are adults, not apparent from the snark, reference Churchill's quote about age and politics. Yes, it is apparent she has bought into what her professors drilled into her head. Yes, she will be confronted with reality. And, YES, she will eventually realize that what she is espousing is pure crap. Definitely agree with KF about Cavuto. All reporters/talking heads should strive to be more like him.

Federal tax, state tax, city tax, county tax, school tax, sales tax, auto registration tax, hunting permit tax, fishing permit tax, drivers license tax, concealed carry permit tax, building permit tax, franchise tax, just to name a few.

Yeah, I want to pay more so this young lady can get a free education.

Anonymous said...

How about some math for our history major;

If you pay 50% in taxes up to $250,000 and 90% in taxes over $250,000 then you end up keeping $200,000 on a million dollars in annual income. Your tax rate is 80%.

This world has enough spoiled college kids who graduate with useless degrees. What we need is plumbers, welders, HVAC repair people, mechanics and trades people.

If you are accruing student debt at an online college or at a university and your teacher is using YouTube videos to teach the class you might want to start thinking of plan B.

Cavuto didn't even let her finish a SINGLE answer. Listen to this interview with an ear for his interruptions. He didn't want any answers from her, just wanted to make his points. She was never allowed to finish a sentence. I don't care which side you're on, his patronizing attitude didn't accomplish anything. Disgusting.

There are several countries where college education is free. Our tuition prices could be lower if we would stop paying these ridiculous salaries to the presidents of these colleges and stop giving tenure to the professors. We pay high school teachers just enough to be above the poverty level, but we pay professors like they are rock stars. There is no way a student should leave college with debt equal to a mortgage. An educated population benefits the whole country, but soon only the privileged few will have degrees.

My state supported college tuition was $1000 a year living on campus with laundry service and meals for a 15 hour course load. Books were extra. It was not only possible but expected that I would graduate in 4 years. This was in the mid to late 60s.

Professors were tenured then as well.

The same college is $15000, no laundry, no meals to live on campus and it's impossible to get the requirements given the scheduling of courses in less than 6 years.

When my children applied to college in the early 90s, Millsaps was a $1000 a year more expensive than Harvard and one course was $1500 a semester!

The money wasn't going to professors. None of my professors or my children's professors, even the tenured ones were living other than a middle class life style. The best deal they had was free tuition for their children.

There are more students, not less at every institution.

It would take a teacher, living on $10000 a year ( about $150 a week after taxes), 15 years to pay back student loans. If they are smart enough to do the math, they won't teach. And, we wonder why we can't get the best and brightest to be teachers.

So, y'all tell me how the cost of a college education today is justified and where the money is going.

Cavuto doesn't seem to be as bad asking the " When did you stop beating your wife?" questions or the " Just answer yes or no" gotcha questions( framing a question so either yes or no is wrong) as most of the FOX anchors.

But, interruption works too. But, this time it's about who you invite.

FOX's idea of " fair and balanced" means inviting the dumbest, least capable and usually photogenic, lefty they can find to represent a different point of view.

Buckley and Vidal , it aint!

I just don't know how people who are college graduates or those who were on the debate team in high school, can tolerate FOX as the tactics should be transparent.

If you are watching just FOX or MSNBC, you aren't get " the news" very much of the time, you are getting propaganda. But, FOX is far better at demonizing than MSNBC.

Anonymous said...

KF you have definitely expanded your appeal...you seem to have a number of lefties now commenting here.
They seem to think you get "news" on everything but FNC. Geeez.

Lefty this said...

If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater the effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders -- what would you tell him to do? I don't know. What could he do?

What would you tell him?

To Shrug

Cavuto was very professional. You have to move things along as an interviewer. He was letting her make her points.

Big difference between Fox News and Fox Business although I consider Chris Wallace, Brett Baier, and Britt Hume to be as good as any other anchor on tv.

Compare this interview to Lawrence O'Donnell on CNBC and then lecture us about being unprofessional.

Oh for Fox sake! This is so not journalism. His job is to get her point of view on why she is protesting. If he wanted to go toe to toe with someone on the ecconomics of thier demands he should have been a real journalist and invited and ecconomist who supports the movement and play devil's advocate. Badgering this girl who is obviously way younger and can only have so much knowledge and experience in that area honestly makes him look week as a journalist and as a man. Not surprised he beats women.kf I'm surprised you posted this. There is noting balanced about this and trust me i like a good verbal sparring but only when the battle of wits is spead even.

Some of you apparently didn't watch Cavuto on MSNBC or PBS and don't know he was an intern in the Carter Administration.

He's a journalism major who knows the difference between news and keeping his job at FOX.

Given that he's had cancer and now has MS, I don't blame him for trying to make the most money he can while he can how he can.

But, let's not pretend that he'd keep his job at FOX for 5 minutes if this interview had been about how a college education is no longer a way out of poverty as it was for generations before.

Will 7:49 concede that his argument will apply for a liberal bias from CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, PBS, AP, et al? Fox hired someone from the Carter administration, I'm doubtful that the other networks are overloaded with people from the Reagan years, or even the Bush years.

I know it is a bad idea, but man I hope they wipe student debt. Maybe we can do a test run, start with veterans.

9:33/34 - when someone puts themselves forward to lead a movement that seeks to upend the social order and is asked basic questions they cannot answer, do not expect them to get a pass just because the are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Keep in mind that before the ACA in 2005, interest rates on student loans were 2.77%. As part of ACA, student loan origination and servicing was changed for the worse. There is no competition for loan servicing, so there is no reason for the government to offer incentives to student borrowers. Before the ACA, some private loan servicers would offer as much as 1% discount if you consolidated, and therefore, moved your loans to their company.

What most students realize, well after they get their student loans, is the only way they go away is if you pay them off, become disabled, or die. You can't file bankruptcy on that debt. They will garnish your wages to get their money back.

When I worked in the industry, it was not uncommon to see students with 100K from MS public university and not have graduated. They would max out their loans as long as they could and even get unsubsidized loans for living expenses. Once they got out of college they would get every exception they could for forbearance and push the payment terms to 30 years. In the end, they would accrue quite of bit of interest since they were never paying down their loans. This problem is likely much worse now that interest rates are higher on the debt.

My problem with wiping out all the student loan debt is the fact some abused the loans. Why should we wipe out the debt for someone who would rather get loans than work while in college?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
