The folks at SEC Shorts put LSU on trial this week.
What do you want me to say? Orgeron replaced Aranda with Bo Pelini. He can't teach the players how to properly play zone or man to man coverage. The defense often looks like it doesn't know what to do and guess what? It doesn't. That's on the coach. Unfortunately, the buyout for Pelini is close to seven million khabukis. Good job, Woodward. Then there is the matter of replacing a bright young offensive mind in Joe Brady with a Dallas Cowboys dinosaur reject. Nice.
Of course, it doesn't help when your head coach gets a divorce and then pics such as this one start popping up on the internet:
Alternate take: Good thing social media and smartphone cameras weren't around when Williams, Brewer, and Hallman coached. ;-)

That's a shit-eatin' grin by the ole Shrimp Boat Cap'n, if I've ever seen one.
I didn't realize until hearing Chris Landry on a podcast last week that LSU AD Scott Woodward is the son-in-law of former LSU chancellor and current NCAA president Mark Emmert. Emmert has consistently run interference for Saban during his tenure.
Will be interesting to see how many favors Scotty Boy can call in during the sanctions tsunami coming for the football AND basketball programs.
Oh, and not the best SEC Shorts effort, but it's hard to come up with premiere material week after week in a "Frankenstein of a season."
War Eagle. That one Saturday was overdue.
Recently I had to work in Louisiana and kept seeing the billboards for Cane's Chicken Fingers that had a photo of Orgeron that read "Geaux Coach O!" They may change those to read "Go Coach O!!!!"
More power to him!!
Scott Woodward is married to Nanette Dicharry. She isn't Emmert's daughter. Emmert's children are Stephen and Jennifer. I went to school with Scott at LSU and had a number of classes together and know him. Don't believe everything you hear.
