The anti-vaxxers are having a confab at the Capitol tomorrow. The Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights issued the following press release.
With membership exploding into the thousands and a newly formed PAC, MPVR is one of Mississippi’s most powerful grass roots organizations. Medical professionals, religious leaders, and parents all over the state are fed up with draconian laws that prevent citizens from living in accordance with their religious beliefs and which overrule their God-given parental rights. The current laws represent egregious state overreach and clearly are not in the best interest of Mississippi families. Not only has Mississippi consistently had the highest infant mortality rate of any state, but it has been ranked one of the unhealthiest states in America for over a decade. (Readers, have some fun with this sentence.).
Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights is asking lawmakers to defend religious freedom and parental rights by supporting two bills, HB1060 and SB2562. Both bills add simple language to existing laws which would allow parents to secure a religious exemption to any vaccination that violated their religious beliefs. In a country whose founders thought freedom of religion important enough to protect it in the very first constitutional amendment, it seems quite extraordinary that these bills are even necessary.
Headlines are currently stating that 1/3 of Americans are now delaying childhood vaccinations. This issue is not going away. The vaccine schedule has ballooned to 21 doses by 6 months, 72 throughout childhood, and more are being added to the recommended schedule each year. Not a single one of these vaccines has undergone a trial against an inert placebo, and yet Mississippi parents have no ability to prayerfully delay, spread out, or decline a single one. In addition, many of these vaccines contain debris from aborted fetuses used during the manufacturing process, along with a laundry list of known toxins. With more than 200 new vaccines currently in development, it’s time for lawmakers to stand up for the families of Mississippi and give them back the legal authority to exercise rights already protected by the Constitution of the United States.
In addition to MPVR President MaryJo Perry, local speakers will include Pastor Richard Roach, Pastor Daniel Smith, pro-life advocate Laura Knight, and Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson. Laura is a mother of 4 and a board member of Pro-Life Mississippi. Andy is the former Representative of District 77 and has championed past religious exemption bills supported by MPVR. The event will close with a candid speech from Del Bigtree, founder of the non-profit, Informed Consent Action Network, and Emmy Award winning investigative journalist.
Rain or shine, this will be MPVR's largest assembly to date. On March 3, 2020 demonstration will begin on the south steps at 8:00am followed by a press conference at 9:45am. The day will wrap up with speakers on the south steps at 2:45pm. The public is warmly invited to attend this family friendly event.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

They should take themselves to a remote island and away from the rest of us who wish to be vaccinated and not exposed to them.
Their "rights" do not overrule the rights of the public who are exposed to their diseases.
Kingfish is really looking for the hits today. Can't wait to read the comments in the morning.
What is the scriptural basis for saying your kid shouldn't be vaccinated? Does someone know chapter and verse?
Coronavirus has entered the chat.
@5:13
You will probably have to read Hebrew because the measles and other outbreaks are usually associated with unvaccinated ultraorthodox Jewish communities coming in contact with undocumented and unvaccinated aliens. It spreads like wildfire in their crowded close-knit communities.
https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/11/9/18068036/measles-new-york-orthodox-jewish-community-vaccines
This is kept quiet because Jews have been blamed for plagues and epidemics by antisemites for thousands of years and the media doesn't wish to fuel more antisemitism in America.
A lot of non-Jewish people (including myself) seek out and buy Kosher products because I know they are held to a higher standard. And I also take note that if Jews avoid a product I will avoid it as well.
@5:41, kudos! I usually get on here (and Kingfish rightfully declines my posts) to blast you and your tribe, but god (little g) bless you for admitting the truth. Basic vaccines are a godsend, 75 by the time you are 18 is poison.
They do not have a religious "right" to make other people sick. Child services should do an investigation of each of the households of these people, their children are in danger.
For parents who question the official narrative that vaccines are 100% safe but also know that unvaccinated children are 100% at risk. Please check out the following PDF:
https://www.drpaulapproved.com/uploads/6/4/8/3/64831775/dr_paul_approved_vaccine_plan.pdf
It is a vaccination schedule recommendation by Dr. Paul Thomas. He recommends which vaccines are most important and at which ages and stages of brain development are the most sensitive to each vaccine and the metals contained in them.
@5:59, what you posted is an opinion by a single doctor who has a financial incentive to peddle that crap. It is not based on medical studies and is directly opposed to current medical recommendations. If you want to be a well informed parent, maybe go with the 99.99999999999999999% of doctors who know that vaccines are safe and actually save lives instead of risking your child’s life on a hunch conspiracy theory.
What do the people who vaccinate their kids have to gripe about? Your kid is protected.
@6:23
Untwist your panties and read my comment.
I said...

A lot of people dont buy into conventional wisdom because that's just a weasel term for groupthink. Some of us also get second opinions from doctors. You can be a lemming if you want. My comment wasn't for you.
Because of "herd immunity" 7:08. Look it up.
I remember polio.
The antivaxers should be ashamed

I am a big supporter of religious freedom. But religious freedom doesn’t include the right to put others in danger. Every right has its logical limits. Putting other people’s children at risk isn’t a legitimate exercise of religious freedom. Burning a cross on someone else’s property isn’t a legitimate exercise of religious freedom, even if one acts out of sincere, but misguided, religious belief. So what will the anti-vaxer say to the mother whose fetus has a birth defect because the mother contracted measles from an unvaccinated child? What will the anti-vaxer say to the child who suffers permanent damage because the child was infected by an unvaccinated child? What will the anti-vaxer say to his own child who needlessly suffers to satisfy some misplaced belief that vaccines are more dangerous than the disease it is designed to prevent? What will the anti-vaxer say to the child who can’t medically be vaccinated who then is infected and made seriously ill by an unvaccinated child? No vaccine is 100% effective, which is why the more people who are vaccinated, the more effective the vaccination for the population. But the idea (which is specious and without sound Christian theological foundation) that religious freedom includes the right to put the health and lives of others at risk is unsound and just wrong.
Hopefully no Devil Demon with Measles, Chicken Pox, Whooping Cough, or any of the diseases that have killed thousands of children won't show up for the rally and expose any of these snowflakes. Their children deserve to not ide and the things we use vaccines (Safe, Safe, Safe) to avoid will kill children. Hopefully the children won't suffer from the Dumb Idiot Crazy as Shoot Parents they have. God please save them from themselves.
Vaccines rarely kill babies and for the children that are mentally and physically affected or disabled for life
by vaccines there is a federal fund to compensate them. It is important that we all are covered from the
illnesses vaccines protect us from. I am not old enough to have personally seen polio but I know it
crippled a US President and I do not want to see another President crippled by polio.
Bomgar Disciples United! Marijuana is medicine and vaccines are poisonous. Thank You Madison for being the epicenter of moronic thought.
It’s easy for you to be with the herd on this issue, Fish, because you have no children! So there’s no fuckin risk for you as the vax schedule grows and grows! Big pharma is very pleased that you buy what they’re selling, no questions asked. Why can’t you understand this is not a completely black and white issue? Why is that so hard to see? 5:59 said it well. There is a very sensible middle ground, if you care to actually consider it. I think on this issue you should be renamed Kingsheep.
I am old enough to have suffered through Chicken Pox (pre-vaccine) in the 1940s and a few years ago Shingles, which is a carryover from the Pox. I also remember our Cub scout Pack visiting a hospital in Laurel where children were in Iron Lungs. And a girl in elementary school who "walked" with two canes and braces on both her legs because of Polio. And a classmate who had poor vision as the result of measles.
And just what the hell is Preacher/Commissioner Andy doing? Next he will be advocating milk not be pasteurized and people will be dying from it. Take me back to the good old days....NEVER!
I fully support vaccines but I also fully believe they are the source of the huge increase in Autism and so many kids being on the spectrum now. The change is frequently noted at the time the vaccine is administered.
All of the commenters that just scoff and defer to the medical consensus should ask your doctor how much they pay in malpractice insurance. Post their reaction.
what about my religious right to smoke blunts at work? or my religious right to not observe daylight savings time. how can the government stop me from lighting up or showing up to work when it’s clearly not my religious time??
So there's to be a gathering of the mentally ill suffering from delusional thinking and those with IQs below average who may or may not have been socially promoted in school?
In my grandmother's day, they'd have been locked in the attic to avoid disgracing the family. Today, they have all found each other via the Internet and formed a group.
PS those with mental illness who are on meds, can seem to function socially but their thought patterns are still crazy!
It is both stupid and sad to let your children get sick and die because you are scared to vaccinate. It is much worse to spread it to my vaccinated children because you are stupid....... Jeff
This has to be the largest gathering of Madison and Northeast Jackson Housewives in one place than Jackson has seen in a long while.
Yes, the vaccines are so safe that Big Pharma lobbied Congress to cover their liabilities with our tax dollars. They threated to cease production of all vaccines.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccine_court
And your tax dollars have paid out over $4 billion since the court was created to cover the victims of the DPT vaccine. All autism claims have been denied. Your kid has to die or become severely disabled to be get compensated.
@6:03 - The alleged autism link to vaccinations has been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked for years. Autism is genetic. It runs in families. Autistic parents produce autistic offspring. The reason why autistic traits start becoming apparent around age 1 or 2 years is because that is when experts can see deviations from "normal" behavior for those children.
What planet are you living on?
Another CAUSE that has become a non profit with a life of its own supporting some list of board members in grand style I assume.
Michael Savage was right about the anti-vaxxers. They are wannabe victims looking for an excuse for their children's behavioral and learning issues.
6:03 You noted "I fully support vaccines but I also fully believe they are the source of the huge increase in Autism and so many kids being on the spectrum now."
Please provide us with a statistically sound, well documented study to back up your belief. I am in the medical field, and have been for many years. For a time my job required me to collect/analyze research data and follow study protocols, so I have some knowledge as to how studies should be done to be accurate, etc. Many point to Andrew Wakefield, yet his "studies" were proven to be seriously flawed to the point of being fraudulent. If you can provide sound documentation to back up vaccines being the "source" of autism, PLEASE share it as this is vital information for the debate.
As to the "huge increase" in children on the autism spectrum now, perhaps we are just getting better at understanding and diagnosing autism. Autism is not something that has been intensely studied until fairly recently. For many years Alzheimer's was termed to be old age, hardening of the arteries, etc. so maybe Autism has been around a long time, we just did not realize that it was autism and called it something else.
You have every right to believe what you believe, but with something as important as vaccinations, please look at the actual facts carefully. How in the world can illnesses such as measles coming back because of non vaccination be a good thing to support?
7:42am, If you vaccinate your children they should be protected from the disease. How could another child pass it on to your child?
Are you saying the vaccination does not work?
@ 9:30- of course autism has always been with us. But, back in the old days, families just accepted the fact that so-and-so wasn’t “right” and went on about their business. I, for one, never heard the “autism” until I was well into adulthood....but I knew of more than one kid by then who, today, would have an autism diagnosis. So, it’s not a new disorder and, most definitely, since there was no such diagnosis is years past and therefore no one counting heads, there is no way to know how the numbers of autistic children today compare to those of 30 or more years ago.
@10:30 - there are LOTS of children (and adults) who are not eligible for vaccines because of preexisting medical conditions that compromise their immune system, or maybe have a serious allergy to components of a vaccine. Like, people who are allergic to eggs might not be eligible for a flu shot. Those people rely on the rest of us to vaccinate in order to stop the spread of the viruses. If 90% of people are immune because of having had the vaccine, then THEY don’t get sick even if they come in contact with someone who is sick. Since that 90% doesn’t get sick, the virus has no way to spread, therefore the 10% is protected by the 90%. But, if that % drops too far below 90%, then the “firewall” is breached, viruses break through and the 10% (the most vulnerable among us) pays the price. THAT’s why each one of us who is eligible for a vaccine is OBLIGATED to have it. And, if one of us develops a rash or has a heart attack or whatever shortly after having received the vaccine, we must accept the fact that crap happens and stop ASSUMING the vaccine to be the cause....like with autism. Autism has been around forever, vaccines have NOT....so OBVIOUSLY vaccines are not the cause of autism.
@10:30
Neither of my children are old enough to have received all of their vaccines. So they rely on herd immunity. You anti vaxxers should post your names so we know who to avoid, instead of just assuming it’s all the homeschooled kids.
The only needles that the government should force on people should be on death row. That should be substituted with OLD SPARKY.
7:42, ignorance is not bliss. Vaccines are not 100% effective. There remains a risk, much, much less though. The more people who are vaccinated, the more effective the vaccination. Small pox was wiped out by vaccination. Polio has all but disappeared because of vaccination. Measles cases had been going down because of success in vaccinations, but that is now being reversed by foolishness of anti-vaxers and unvaccinated immigrants. BTW, Mississippi has been one of the best states in the country at reducing measles with strict vaccination rules, and the autism rate is no higher here than where vaccination requirements are not as strict. Why, because there is no connection. Do vaccinations have risks? Certainly. But the risks of serious harm without vaccinations is much higher. Opposition to vaccination is basically irrational.
Response to 7:42 was meant for 10:30.
Our Constitution promotes both individual rights and the welfare of the people generally. You can't always have it both ways.
I believe that in this instance, we have enough knowledge and experience to take sides with the general public. The presence of a virus with no vaccine available yet could demonstrate in a terrible way that a small number of deaths is preferable to death on a massive scale.
Shows how smart they are by having a anti-vaccine rally during the midst of worldwide panic over a virus. Brilliant.
The Anti Vaccine causes Terminal Stupidity. And needless suffering and death among your fellow citizens. Morons.
Wow so much hate. Not one single pro-autism commenter has posted any proof that the vaccines are safe and don't cause autism. Just repeat over and over about a consensus. Just like climate change? All you do is mock and belittle. Freedom isn't free and Abraham bound and carried Osaac all the way to the altar.
5:08, no one is “pro-autism.” But here is a link to studies that show no connection between vaccines and autism. So where are the studies, besides the one that has been so widely discredited that the author lost his license?

@7:06
The CDC has the same credibility as the CIA, the FBI, and the DOJ. Hoaxers, liars, and seditious traitors all of them.
The only thing words that always ultimately turn out true, despite the lying press, are President Trump's tweets. He is always ultimately vindicated.
6:03 am Your comment is easily proven ridiculous.
If there were a link between autism and vaccinations, those States with the most stringent vaccination requirements would have the highest incidence of autism.
Not only is that not the case, the highest incidents of autism continue to be in States without strict requirements. And, Mississippi, which had strict requirement had one of the lowest incidents per births when this anti-vax nonsense started to become a fad.
There is scientific ( rather than anecdotal stories) proving there is no relationship between vaccinations and autism.
Not only that, but research shows that many disorders just don't show up until certain ages in human development.
I'm sure you are enjoying the social benefits of being part of a group and having your " intuition" applauded, but you do so at your children's peril
Please write your legislator to have the state provide for a 7-day rent subsidy to cruise the oceans for their next convention; so as to afford them a safe space for them to solidify their belief in the merits of their position.
